Large chalet with a great view of the lake and mountain! Convenient to Seward. Kitchen was stocked with everyday condiments, spices, baking and cooking needs. Treva left an amazing Creme Brulee french toast for us to enjoy. Gary was helpful with ideas on what to do. It was perfect for two couples. Would definitely recommend. Unfortunately, because of the fires (and smoke) down the road, we weren't able to enjoy the firepit or use the hot tub. Maybe we will be back some day! Thank you Gary and Treva!
Our group of 6 adults enjoyed our stay at this home. It was clean and comfortable! The kitchen was well equipped.
Perfect scenic getaway
We had six adults and a baby at this property and it met all our needs. We went on day trips hiking, whale watching, trout fishing, scenic rafting, and glacier kayaking and then came home to the awesome hot tub with a view! The lower level carpet had a dog smell and the bathtub leaked so we could only use the shower, but these were small things compared to the privacy and view. We would go there again.
Very comfortable and clean. Well stocked. Perfect view loved waking up having coffee on the deck looking at the view and watching the planes. The restaurant down the road was excellent. Hot tub was nice also.
Loved the Stellar Jay!
The Stellar Jay was the perfect place for my friend and I to stay during our visit to the Kenai Peninsula. Everything about the property was just as described. It was spacious, clean, and super comfy, especially the beds! The views were amazing and it was so peaceful. It was the perfect home base for us to explore the area around Seward which was a 30 minute drive down the road. Seward was a great place to visit. I highly recommend doing a cruise/kayaking trip with Sunny Cove. We did the full day trip which took us out to the Holgate Glacier. It was amazing and the guides were terrific. It was very personal as we only had a group of 8 plus the guides. It was my favorite activity while we were there. Also recommend doing the hike to Exit Glacier. It was a tough hike for me, who is not a huge hiker but in decent shape, but the views the whole way are worth it. Seward also has a good handful of cool, friendly bars and restaurants. We particularly like the Cookery and the Seward Brewing Company.
So if you are planning a visit to the area I highly recommend staying here. It was the perfect home away from home for us.
Glad you had a good time! You hit the high points! Sea kayaking is definitely a better way to see Kenai Fjords than the big boats! Qudos on doing the Harding Icefield Trail. Thats the primo hike here you cant do anywhere else.
A wonderful weekend
We very much enjoyed our stay. The owners had an employee greet us, who was very accommodating and welcoming. The property has 3 floors: 2 Bed rooms on the lower level and a large loft on the upper level. Kitchen, dining area/living area on the second level. We were very pleased.
Additional chalets on adjacent property will accommodate up to 12 people. Can accommodate parties up to 22 between the three.
