Very cool farm house, comfortable stay

  • 4 of 5

This little farm house is very cool. Original framing, exposed beams, colonial hardware, mixed with modern nacessities. The upstairs bedroom is perfect for the kids. Would be very cozy in winter time with a nice fire...

Fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spend four days in Ridgefield, CT and stayed at the Red Rooster Cottage. We never had a disappointing moment on the visit! The Cottage was exactly as described (if not better), which made the trip even more enjoyable. If you have the opportunity to stay in this cottage, please do so. Location, facilities, and beautiful front porch with rocking chairs that we enjoyed every evening and every morning. Everything was wonderful!!

Great time in Connecticut!

  • 5 of 5

We needed a house last minute, and when we called George he answered his phone and got us all set up. Then we loved it! George took care of our firewood (even though it was early in the season - us southerners weren't used to the chill) and made sure we had everything we needed. I ended up leaving a couple of items at the house, and he promptly mailed them to me. The house has no food items - so think about that when planning to cook - but the kitchen is neat and clean and well stocked with dishes/pots/etc. The town is beautiful - lots of lovely homes, a fun Main Street for shopping, etc. We loved the remodel on the farm house! So well done! We enjoyed easy day drives to Yale/New Haven and New York City.

Beautiful Place

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 3 spent a week here. The house is beautifully decorated, and maintains the charm of the 1700s while having every modern amenity. The area is quiet, making this the perfect place to relax. We loved the front porch, the spot for our daily morning coffee. The upstairs bedroom and bathroom gave my son his privacy, while we had ours on the lower level.

We're already thinking about our next trip there, and perhaps consider the other home on the property George owns. We found George to be gracious and wonderful. A great experience from the moment we arrived kt the moment we left.

Family of Four

  • 4 of 5

This stay was very nice, comfortable, private, and relaxing. The area is beautiful and the house has EVERYTHING you could ever need. The owner truly thought of everything for this rental, and he is a very nice and understanding person. Very cute and rustic, my children loved it. Lots of room for the dogs to run around in the back was also a plus.

Relaxing Holiday

  • 5 of 5

My family's stay here was excellent. We visited Ridgefield for the holidays and did not want to stay in a hotel. The 2 bedroom, 2 bath was perfect for our needs. It is clean, comfortable, and easily accessible to town. We had some heavy snow storms while there and the owner was most accommodating having the driveway and walks plowed and shoveled before we had to go out.

The beds were very comfortable as well. The kitchen, while not particularly updated, was well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, coffeemaker, toaster, microwave, etc.

I would definitely recommend this property for a quiet getaway, yet close to everything, even a great hike within walking distance.
