Overview

About the property

2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, sleeps 1-4

This cozy 2-bedroom cabin is located off the pristine Lewis and Clark Trail (US HWY 12 W),8 mi. south of Missoula and another 11 1/2 miles west of Lolo. The 2013 Forest Fires impacted the mountains around it for a short distance. It may be awhile to beautiful mountain views from the cabin however the fire stopped within a half mile of the cabin. Thus nearby Lolo Peak, Lolo Creek and close mountains were untouched by the fire, grazing elk, deer and moose. Outstanding hunting, fishing, snow shoeing, snow mobiling, four wheeling, skiing, hiking, biking, soak or swim at nearby hot springs. The night stars are gorgeous from the hot tub during clear nights.

You may also enjoy Missoula's many coffee houses, restaurants or seasonal activities that are yours within a short driving distance. You will enjoy a memorable stay in this charming cabin.

This area is outstanding for outdoor activities as well as activities in the city of Missoula or a drive down the Bitterroot. The cabin is quite nice with a nice living room area which includes satellite tv, wifi internet (that is spotty occasionally with cloudy weather), 2 bedrooms with queen log beds, a nice kitchen and a quiet outdoor deck. A great place to come and relax and venture toward the plethora of sights to see or game to hunt.

restful

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful stay! Would recommend this property for a restful stay. Our only "complaint" is that the shower head works great if you are 5'2" or shorter, its a tad low for people taller than that.

Great place to relax!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was perfect for our week in Montana. We enjoyed the quiet, rural setting while not too far away from Missoula. We loved seeing the wildlife that visited the yard: deer, turkeys, robins and other birds.

The house was very clean and has all of the items necessary to make yourself at home.

I highly recommend Wispering Moose if you are looking for a quiet get away to relax!

A great escape from the everyday

  • 5 of 5

My only regret was that we didn't stay longer - another night or two and I would have been fully recharged. The setting was quiet and perfect and the cabin was all we needed. Thanks for a lovely escape.

Quiet and met our needs

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was quiet, quaint and met our needs. We saw deer in the front yard, and had a magpie on the porch one morning. Easy access to Missoula and surrounding area. Great base location for day trips into the Montana countryside. We would definitely book this cabin again if we return to the area.

really nice

  • 4 of 5

It was a bit farther from town than what I was originally thinking. Friends we were visiting were on the complete opposite end of town, in Rattlesnake. Had to drive almost 30 miles each time for our visits. However the cabin, was clean, and very comfortable. We appreciated the amenities (coffeepot, large fridge!) beautiful yard and surroundings. it was a little warm inside in evenings. Only one window had a screen. We are used to opening windows in the evening, and no air conditioning at home, but didn't want to open windows and let in bugs!, so we just didn't open them. Quiet, and nice, thank you for letting us stay!

Clean comfy cabin in central bitterroot mts location

  • 4 of 5

The cabin had everything we needed. It was comfortable and clean. It is located in the middle of many hiking spots in the bitterroot mountains and close to Missoula.

It was a good place for our toddler but in the winter it would have been impossible to keep him away from the hot wood stove in the living room so it's good for small kids in summer only.

The map location on the website is incorrect and misleading. It's pretty close to the highway and you're in between two houses.

Owner's Response: We noted on the website that you must get directions as you can not gps this property as our number is out of order. I am glad you had a good time and was not intending to be misleading. The property is not listed as secluded or remote. It is however quiet in the country with abundant wildlife. There are baseboard heaters in the event you do not want to use wood. Thank you for your response.
