For a good idea of what you’ll experience, please read our REVIEWS. Our guests keep coming back because we offer great value and a quality experience in a dynamic neighborhood that is quiet, close to downtown and has many of Montreal’s top restaurants.

Gallery 3 is in a meticulously restored century old building close to downtown and minutes from the subway (Metro), the Atwater Market and the historic Lachine Canal. An ideal pied-à-terre for anyone that wants to be in one of the most dynamic villages in Montreal. This 2 bedroom 3rd floor unit is bright and sleeps 4 to 6. Finished with hardwood floors, it is spotlessly clean & tastefully decorated with original art, high quality furnishings, linens & appointments throughout. It features a master bedroom with a queen size sleigh bed and 1 bedroom with 2 single beds. The den has a sofa with a double pull out bed. Also in the den there is a flat screen TV and a collection of DVD’s from our library of over 100 movies for all ages. The bathroom has a deep tub that will soothe you after a good day of sightseeing and is equipped with a front loading washer & dryer. The dining room is beside the all equipped kitchen with dishwasher that leads out to a large balcony with a patio set and BBQ. All our units also come stocked with books and board games. Called the GALLERY 3 because this is 1 of 3 units in the building that is located next to the previous owner Jane's private art gallery & studio.

Note that this unit has very steep stairs leading up to the apartment so it is less suitable for the elderly or toddlers.

Our other units in the same building are Gallery 2 (#213798) and Gallery 1 (#211812)

Good food is just steps away at the deluxe IGA grocery store or the delicious Atwater market where you can savor gourmet foods, pastries and deli style food. If you prefer to eat out, we are a few minutes walking from some of Montreal’s top restaurants (Joe Beef, Tuck Shop, H4C, Smoking Vallee, CHO, McKiernans, Magnans Tavern) or if you prefer a drink in a hip setting there is La Drinkerie, Burgundy Lion, Grumman 78, Ludger.

Aside from fine dining, there are many things to do in this area. Depending on the season, you could catch a hockey game at the Bell Center, go rock climbing at Allez-Up indoor rock climbing gym or rent a kayak and paddle on the Lachine Canal. You can also walk or cycle on the Lachine Canal bike path which is just 15 minutes by bike to the Old Port and Old Montreal. Note that you can leave your bikes at home because we have 6 adult bikes for rent for $5 a day or maximum charge of $20 (includes helmets and locks). For small children there is a nice park with playground and splash pad just one block away.

montreal get away

The Montreal apartment was great. Better than the pictures, and conveniently centrally located. We were two adults with two teenagers, and we spent four days in the apartment. The place was clean and spacious and was fully equipped for everything we needed for sleeping, cooking and entertaining. And the owner, John, was very helpful in getting us anything else we needed. We will definitely be returning our next trip to Montreal. We highly recommend staying here.

A great apartment for visiting the city and hosting family and friends

This was our second time at one of Etienne's apartments and we will certainly be back as we travel to Montreal frequently. Both Gallery 2 and 3 look the same although #2 has a very large deck which was useful for hosting a supper with my family and friends. The apartments are attractively decorated, well maintained and have a decent stock of kitchen tools and dishes. Important for us as we prefer to cook at home. Our queen bed was certainly comfortable and my teenage boys had no problem sleeping until the afternoon in the twin beds. I love the location; a quiet, family neighbourhood with a tennis court and a park nearby. A depanneur is on the corner when you need milk or other essentials at 10 pm. The Lachine canal where we enjoyed long walks and planned (but never did) a bike trip to the end of the Island is a few blocks away. It is a short walk to the Atwater market where we indulged in the wonderful bakeries and prepared food stores. There are certainly plenty of nice-looking restaurants close by but we rarely eat out when we visit my hometown. The closest metro station is a 10-minute walk away. I would never rent a car in the city given the perpetual construction and lack of free or low cost parking. If one thing could be improved, it would be the indoor entertainment in the form of books, games, jigsaw puzzles and television. The owners invite us to call them for videos which we did not do this time as we had little opportunity for evening viewing but the small selection at the condo was uninspiring; there are few interesting TV channels, no netflix on the TV and the CD player was not working. We had an ipad for watching some shows but it is small and we wished we had brought at least our small wifi speaker to listen to music without earphones. Some books about Montreal or a greater variety of magazines would have been appreciated. Thank you Etienne for providing a great pied à terre in Montreal.

Great stay!

My son & I stayed in the apartment Wed-Sun and were very happy here. The place is kept well, spacious and is in a good location. The metro is within walking distance as are many restaurants and a grocery store. I've told colleagues about the place, and would definitely stay here again!

Clean, comfortable, great location

This condo has a terrific location. The residential area is pleasant and quiet, and it's very close to the Lachine canal. That's a great walk into the old town area. It's also very close to the Atwater market which is great for purchasing dinner on the way back. The metro station is also quite convenient which opens up access to the rest of Montreal. The owners are helpful and have provided a lot of information on what to see and where to go as well as recommendations for restaurants. The condo is very clean and the beds are really comfortable. A good place to stay.

Review of Gallery 1 - May 2016

Very good, clean, well equipped apartment with virtually everything you could need located in a quiet and convenient area of Montreal with good access to shops, bars, restaurants and the metro. It was very hot when we were there but being the ground floor apartment it was cool and the ceiling fans were great. Slight downside the TV was not working properly and a bedside lamp which needed a bulb replacing did not reappear - neither a major issue but should be sorted. Jane and John were good when there was we had a mix up on apartments and it was sorted without too much fuss. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would book again if back in Montreal.
