Beautiful and very relaxing. We had a wonderful time and wish we would have stayed longer.

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is beautifully decorated with many amenities such as a dish washer, washer and dryer, and a large hot water tank. My boys (4 and 6) were able to fish all day off the dock. And Grand Rapids is little over a 5 minute drive away. We would gladly stay again, and recommend this property to friends and family!

3rd time staying at this awesome place!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed here the last 3 summers in a row when we visit Grand Rapids. The cabin has a perfect location in a very private area but also just a short drive away from downtown Grand Rapids. Also a kayak rental place just down the road that we tried out for the first time! It meets our large group needs like so few other places do. As others have mentioned we look forward to staying here in the summers to come.

Owner's Response: Whoop, Whoop! So glad to have you back! I love that our cabin works for your family time. Great news, we just bought a kayak to keep in the garage. Our kids loved it, and I hope it works for your needs in the future as well! The place down the street also has paddle boards and other fun equipment for rent. Great discovery! See you next summer! Beautiful retreat

  • 5 of 5

We took our family of 9 for much needed bonding time. We knew nothing about the area or lake. We rented a pontoon from Wheeler marine so we were set for the week. The home was roomy and set up for all our needs. The beds were comfortable and the home was isolated enough so we did not have to deal with other vacationers. Loved the furniture and nick knacks. It took a few times out on the lake to find fish but when we did there were many. We loved the lake. Clear water, loons and fish everywhere. We also found areas where we could take the family and swim. Did I mention the lake is beautiful, we saw bald eagles sitting in the trees as we passed under them. The sunsets at night were amazing. We had a fire a couple of nights with s'mores under a beautiful star lit sky. Ben's bait shop in Grand Rapids was very helpful. We made a trip up to Orr to visit the bear reserve. My family loved the week and hopefully we will be able to do it again. If there was one thing that could be changed it would be the fish cleaning house, a sink and it would have been perfect.

Second Time Here

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed here two summers in a row when we visit Grand Rapids to pick up our youngest son from Camp Mishawaka. The home is perfectly situated in a very private area on Lake Jay Gould which is connected to Lake Pokegama. This year we rented a pontoon and kept it at the dock on the property and made several trips to Mishawaka, Nesbitt Island and another cabin on Pokegama where relatives were staying. The house has a large kitchen and dining area which was perfect for hosting big family gatherings. We look forward to staying here in the summers to come.

Great time

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful time. Plenty of sleeping room. We rented a boat for a few days and spent day at the sand beaches. Did a day of fishing- made great memories for our girls! I would definitely recommend this place.

Spacious cabin for our group!

  • 5 of 5

Great location that was close to the golf courses we were playing yet secluded enough that we felt like we were "alone" in the woods. Plenty of room in the cabin for our large group and we would love to stay here again!
