This is a relatively spacious flat in a cool urban neighborhood that is not at all "touristy"...you really felt like a Berliner with all the local families and couples in the area. There are a couple bakeries/cafes within a block or so plus some nice small convenience stores for beer, wine, snacks. it is a short walk to Schonhauser allee which has tons of great restaurants, a grocery store, and access to the S-Bahn. In the opposite direction are more restaurants and a tram stop. Easy access to the city via transit and Ubers were always available
This pre-WWII building is quiet and secure and has a lovely courtyard with flowers and a place to leave a bicycle.
appliances included a dishwasher, clotheswasher (no dryer) and a large refrigerator. decent stovetop and oven also. all worked well.
Some areas that could be improved upon:
-The apartment is not the cleanest rental out there to be polite. (dont look under beds...).
-The bathrooms are not user friendly. one is very small which is typical for a european flat but it was impossible to shower without flooding the floor. the larger bathroom has a tub/shower but is also flood prone.
we had a lot of problems with the wifi early in the stay...it would cut out or have periods with a very low signal. we worked with it but it made it difficult for one of our people to work remotely.
the owner was kind enough to accommodate our request for an early check in.
all told, good spot to use as a base camp for our berlin trip
