Decorated in the Mission Style, this three-bedroom, three-bath chalet is beautiful, warm, and inviting. Enjoy all the area has to offer during the day and return "home" each evening to relax in the New 1844-square-foot chalet. Your home-away-from-home features a stunning river rock fireplace, beautiful cedar-lofted ceiling, a private hot tub with a terrific view towards open space, and best of all, everything is new.

This chalet features a king-sized bed in the master bedroom and a queen-sized bed in the second upstairs bedroom. There are blue ribbon trout streams and rivers all around the area. The Gallatin River also boasts popular whitewater rafting excursions.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Location was amazing, chalet was perfect for the four of us! We only used the hotime tub once but it was nice to have that option. We spent the majority of our time exploring the area!

Excellent Stay

  • 5 of 5

Myself, my wife, my parents, my brother, and my sister-in-law stayed in this Chalet at the end of July 2016. The pictures on VRBO do not do this Chalet justice. The unit is much nicer than the pictures reflect and it is much bigger than we anticipated. That being said, everything was perfect. This is one of the better stocked rentals I have stayed in through VRBO. The wifi was great, and the hot tub was serene. It was clean and was a very enjoyable stay. Key access and parking were no hassle. For Big Sky itself, we were in awe of the countryside. Hailing from Central Illinois, we were absolutely blown away by the views in the Gallatin Gateway. This was no doubt one of the best trips I have ever taken. If you rent this Chalet, you will not be let down.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the wonderful review. Glad you had a wonderful vacation. Whether good or bad, reviews help me either correct what is wrong or continue with what is working, thus making your experience staying at our home away from a home the best possible.

Great bedroom layouts, but no WiFi

  • 3 of 5

Our family enjoyed meeting in Big Sky and found this 3 bedroom / 3 bathroom (2 of which were en suites) to meet the needs of our 3 generation family of 6 people. The bedroom layouts were nice for each set of people to have their own bathroom within their bedroom. First off, the duplex doesn’t have WiFi. This is a basic expectation in VRBOs, so it was disappointing and inconvenient during our entire stay. There was, however, a landline, which we never used because our Verizon cell phones worked fine. The owner should trade out the landline phone for WiFi which would be a far more useful amenity. The hot tub was nice, but not very private as you can be seen by several neighbors from their back windows or yards. Overall, the condo could use a good deep cleaning beyond the sinks, toilets and floors. The cabinets, casework and ceilings were very dusty. There is a serious lacking of renter directions regarding how the heating system works (it was very difficult to figure out how to keep it a comfortable temperature during the day and night), how the DVD or VHS players work (which video or HDMI setting the TV needs to be tuned to). There were tons of classic Disney movies in the duplex that our grand kids would have loved to watch, but either the VHS player was broken or we couldn't find the correct video setting on the TV to make it work. Also, there weren’t any check-out instructions or any information about which day garbage pickup was, in case we were there. The sofa sleeper bed was broken, so don’t plan on using that for additional sleeping.

Owner's Response: The chalet has a deep clean before the summer rental season and before the skiing rental season, the timing of your stay and how busy each season is, will have a direct influence on the cleanliness of the chalet. I have been looking into getting Wi-Fi instead of the landline, but have not completed anything as of yet. The Wi-Fi would not have enough usage or speed for streaming of videos or gaming. It would be fine for Google searches and email if I do decide to go that route. I agree that I have been lax in communicating check out procedure and information regarding the use of the VHS, DVD, Hot Tub, TV and other items. I am currently working on this. This was the first I have heard of the sleeper sofa not working. The matter will be looked into and either repaired or replaced. I strive to provide the best rental experience imaginable, reviews such as these are needed for me to take care of any item that is broken or not up to standards. Thank you. The sleeper sofa has been replaced. All pots and pans are new. New stove. New vacuum cleaner. New cleaning and management company and there is now Wi-Fi.

Great en suite bedrooms, but no WiFi and dirty

  • 3 of 5

Our family enjoyed meeting in Big Sky and found this 3 bedroom / 3 bathroom (2 of which are en suites) to meet the needs of our family of 6 for our 5 night stay in Big Sky. The bedroom layouts were very nice for each set of people to have their own bathroom within their bedroom. First off, there was no WiFi. This seems to be a basic expectation in a VRBO; it was disappointing and inconvenient to not have during our entire stay. There was however a landline, which is not expected nor was it used (as our Verizon cell phones worked fine). The owners should add WiFi and cancel the landline. The hot tub was nice, but not very private as you can be seen by several neighbors from their back windows or yards. Also, the dining room table only has 6 chairs, not 9 as it says in the information. There are 3 bar stools, so maybe they added those together to come up with 9. Overall, the condo could use a good deep cleaning beyond the sinks, toilets and floors. The cabinets, casework and ceilings were very dusty. There was a serious lacking of renter directions regarding how the heating system works (it was very difficult to figure out how to keep it a comfortable temperature during the day and night), how the DVD or VHS players work (which video or HDMI setting the TV needs to be tuned to). There were tons of classic Disney movies that our grand kids would've loved to watch, but either the VHS player was broken or we couldn't find the correct video setting on the TV to make it work. Also, there weren't any check-out instructions (again, a typical expectation in a VRBO) regarding what needed to be done upon leaving or which day garbage pickup was (in case someone might be there on that day). Also, the sofa sleeper is broken, so don't count on that as a sleeping option.

Great vacation home in Superb Area of Big Sky, Montana

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a place convenient to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons National Parks. Big Sky was a great choice being just 50 miles from the west gate to Yellowstone, but far away from the tourist crowds in that area. The three bedroom, three bath home as part of a duplex building was excellent for my wife and me. All the conveniences of home were provided and the owner did a great job taking care of our needs. We even needed to move the reservation back one day due to our changed travel schedule and since the owner did not have another reservation right behind ours, we happy to make the change. Great place and superb value.

Perfect for our group

  • 5 of 5

This is our 8th visit to Big Sky. This time we wanted to bring our son and his friends. This condo was perfect, 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms meant plenty of room for everyone. It was very clean and comfortable. The heated garage was so appreciated with the sub zero temps. The kitchen is well appointed and open to the dining and living rooms. The only thing that would improve the place is better lighting. I'm making reservations for next year now.
