About Mitch & Carmen Gordon

In addition to being host we are also former vacation home renters. We understand what it's like to expect a very clean, fully stocked and functioning home! We know your time is valuable and we want you to feel at home from the minute you check in. We always strive to make sure we exceed your expectations for a comfortable stay with all of the essentials. We are also the developers of Nautica Cove Subdivision adjacent to Casa Lago.

Mitch & Carmen Gordon purchased this house in 2005

Why Mitch & Carmen Gordon chose Butler

Unlike many properties on Watauga Lake Casa Lago has great year round level access. It also has a large level driveway that is easy to turn in and will accommodate multiple cars for those extended friend and family vacations. Because of building requirements on Watauga Lake almost all homes a considerable number of steps to access the lake and docks. In addition to our steps we also have a gently graded walkway/driveway making your walk to the dock very easy. In addition if you are bringing coolers and other supplies or for folks that might have a harder time walking you can also bring your car directly to the gangway!

What makes this house unique

We even include a kayak, canoe, Standup Paddleboard and Jon Boat with your rental!

Beautiful home on lovely Watauga Lake

  • 5 of 5

Many thanks to Mitch and Carmen for sharing Casa Lago with our family! The house was immaculate and beautiful. We greatly enjoyed the dock, sundeck, and kayaks/canoe. Renting a pontoon boat from Fish Springs Marina truly is the best way to appreciate the beauty and serenity of Watauga Lake. We enjoyed fishing and swimming from both the boat and the dock. The cabin was centrally located so we were always busy. We visited Grandfather Mountain, Boone, and Asheville NC. We also checked out Johnson City and Mountain City TN. Anywhere you go, the mountain scenery is amazing! Great vacation destination!

We had a great time at Casa Lago!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was all we expected and more. We enjoyed going for long walks seeing the beautiful scenery and lots of deer. It was so peaceful and quiet all the neighbors were very friendly and helpful. There was so much to do within an hours drive of the cabin. Even though it was winter everything was so beautiful. If we ever had a problem Mitch ALWAYS answered the phone and fix the problem as fast as humanly possible. We would recommend Casa Lago for short or long term stay. Had a great time. Thank you Mitch and Carmen

Attention to Detail!

Casa Lago is the perfect relaxing get- away spot. Our family visited Watauga Lake for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Casa Lago is a clean and comfortable home situate on a quiet cove at Watauga Lake. Every effort was made to make our stay as comfortable as possible, from the carefully-noted driving directions to the fully-equipped kitchen, spacious rooms, lovely deck furniture and fire pit area. The vista of the lake from the boat house deck was one of our favorite aspects of this home. We also enjoyed the walking trails and took in all the abundant nature around us! We saw birds of prey, hummingbirds, geese, fish and butterflies just to name a few. Inside, the furnishings and beds were very comfortable and each room offered plenty of hanging and storage space for our belongings. The owners clearly take very good care of this property and we are grateful to them for letting us share their home for a very special family time. We hope to return sometime soon! Property is beautiful inside and out!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time to this area and we loved it! This cabin is wonderful! It has everything that you would need and is clean and very well maintained. The pictures that are posted on the internet is what you will see. The family enjoyed the the kayaks, canoe and paddleboard along with the ping pong table in the garage!! I enjoyed working with the owner and knew he was just a telephone call away should I have a problem. Our family is already talking about another trip and this is the first place we would like to book!

Casa Lago, A wonderful place to play and relax.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent 5 wonderful days at Casa Lago. The setting of the cabin was fantastic as it blended with the mountains and Lake Watauga. We have so many beautiful memories of the views of the mountains, lake and the Appalachian Trail. It doesn't matter whether you’re young, old, a hard core hiker and professional photographer or just like to take long walks and photos, there is something for everyone. The cabin was fantastic and your always 45 minutes away from everything (inside joke but almost true). We highly recommend this unique getaway.
