WE OFFER KAYAKS, CANOE AND PADDLE BOARD FOR RENT. Free WiFi

Welcome to Cedar Key Village at Smith Mountain Lake. This spectacular all Cedar Home is located on beautiful Smith Mountain Lake and is one of eleven homes nestled in a secluded no wake cove. We sit above the others cabins offering a spectacular view of the lake and mountains. We also own the cabin below us. Please see 212766. This home sleeps four. Our Cedar Key Village offers the perfect setting for family or friend reunions. Between both homes, we can sleep 10. Please review the plat under the map page on this site.

Top of the line 6 person hot tub on lower deck with pergola. It offers Bluetooth built in music, full body lounger, foot jets, water falls and range of colored lighting for your selection. The view from the hot tub offers a full view of Smith Mountain with amazing sun sets and is in very private setting.

We have one of the easiest access to the lake for those who have walking issues as you can drive directly to the waterfront, just a 30 second drive. Also you can walk the road or take the 100 steps down to the waterfront. The walk down the steps to the waterfront is surrounded by beautiful gardens on both sides, please see the pictures.

Because the cove is “no wake” you can swim, kayak, paddle board and canoe without being disturbed by jet skies and motor boats, a rarity on the lake. We are only a 500' to the entrance to the main channel so you have go far before you can produce a wake. The cove is surrounded by a 2000 acre wildlife mountainous nature preserve so your views are of deep woods, silhouetted by Smith Mountain and its surrounding mountains. Smith Mountain Lake has 22,000 acres of clean water and has 500 miles of shoreline.

There is a mile long drive to reach our Lodge that is just magical. It is deeply wooded with an abundance of hardwoods on both sides, not a home in sight. Once you have made this turn on our lane, you will be delighted with the serine, natural beauty that surrounds our home.

Our renovated gorgeous home hums with relaxed energy which you will feel the moment you enter. Features a gourmet kitchen with granite counter tops and Tuscany styled charming maple cabinets, a large great room with cathedral ceilings and an incredibly beautiful floor to ceiling stone fireplace. Our one level home’s main living area is totally open so if you are in the kitchen, you are not isolated from the other guests. Cedar beams throughout the house adds a unique charm to this beautifully decorated and inviting home. All the furniture is extremely comfortable and cozy. We added an additional sun room featuring a panoramic wall of glass sun room provides breathtaking views of the lake and mountains from anywhere in the living area.

We offer three bedrooms and two full baths. The master bath has an over-sized custom tiled shower with three shower heads. The other bath offers a Jacuzzi tub. The cabinets are all rich maple with granite counter tops. The guest bedroom has a sliding glass door to the deck, which offers a fantastic view of the lake and Smith Mountain… what a way to wake up each morning.

Amenities include a 45 inch HD Sony TV, surround sound speakers and outdoor speakers, great for entertainment on our over sized trek deck. We live in the house for several months of the year so the house is appointed with every pot and pan, dish and glass wear imaginable. Many of our guests has told us it is far better equipped than their own homes. We also provide an array of spices.

Our two tier Trek decks offers 1000ft of outdoor living space. The top deck has a 6 person dining table, smaller tables and lot of lounge chairs. The lower deck has a 8 person pagoda, surrounded by flower pots and woods. It sits behind the hot tub, great for entertaining. Several people have commented that we have the most beautiful decks on the lake. There is a mature oak tree next to the deck and it’s gracefully limbs provides wonderful shade from early spring thru the fall. The deck’s view of the lake and the mountains is simply breathtaking. There is a lower level 500 square foot patio as well that has another table and chairs for four and a charcoal barbecue. We have a boat slip with a private dock, and a floating deck boat, perfect for lots of fun water entertainment. It is 20 ' deep off our dock.

We also planted lots of herbs on the deck for our clients use, a wonderful feature that all my clients have enjoyed. Everybody waters the plants on the deck, sorta of pass on the beauty for the next folks arrival.

Our no wake 60 acres cove is famous for its abundance and variety of fish. It is where the strippers spawn every year and fisherman catch bass, muskies and cat fish right off our docks. You will see an exciting array of wild life including eagles, owls, ospreys, humming birds, wild turkey and of course deer but we also have several albino deer which are spectacular to see if you are lucky.

Ideally located in southwest Virginia's mountain foothills, our Lodge setting balances the beauties of landscape, mountains and lake with tranquility and recreational pursuits for a perfect vacation. Each season offers delights for the senses. Spring brings beautiful mountain laurels, azaleas, and dogwoods. Summers are lush with the aroma of heavy woods and an array of flower blossoms. Crape myrtles surround our property in late summer bursting our gardens with a variety of color. Autumn paints the landscape in burning brush strokes of red, gold, and orange. Each season is unique. Each a part of the beauty that surrounds our

Quiet, serene, beautiful -- a fresh adventure in the leisure life awaits you. Pick your pleasure. Maybe it's a romantic winter weekend. Or a family designed dip into summer water sports. An autumn escape to see Smith Mountain on fire with ever changing colors. Or spring's first battle with the bass and muskies. No matter, you will find them all.

The Mariners Landing golf course is just ten minutes away and in the same community as the Point Restaurant which is renown on the lake as one of the top lakefront restaurants. They also have lots of fun entertainment over the summer and fall months so make sure you look them up.

Rent all types of boats at nearby marinas and enjoy para-sailing, water skiing, sailing, water-skiing, jet skiing, and for those with a large crowd you will love the huge pontoon boats.

We offer on site 4 kayaks, one two person canoe, one three person kayak with the middle seat perfect for a dog or small child and two paddle boards. Our no-wake cove is perfect for kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding and swimming. No worries of being run over by the jet skis or speed boats.

Our mile long drive into the property is perfect for long walks or biking. You will listen to only the sounds of nature as a beautiful hardwood forest hugs both sides of the road. Dear and turkey abound! Also if you like mountain biking, you are only a few minutes away.

There are lots of funs restaurants close by and the state park is just ten minutes away. The park offers summer fun programs for children at their camp pavilion. They also have a mile long lake front walking trail, a sandy beach, boat rentals, covered pavilions with barbeque grills and lots of night life entertainment.

You can take a ride on the Virginia Dare to see the lake and enjoy dinning for lunch or dinner. Next to the Virginia Dare is the Tiki Bar, a true fun spot for Jimmy Buffet fans.

On the side of the lake (about twenty minutes away) there are lots of fun clothing shops, miniature golf, arcade, art shop, ice cream parlor, cinema and great restaurants.

The area is rich in history; you will want to make sure you see the Booker T. Washington plantation, the D day Memorial in Bedford and take a tour of how the damn was constructed. And Roanoke is only 40 minutes away and has all kinds of fun night life at market square. It is considered one of the best towns in the state for Bluegrass music. A drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway is a must; the mountains are soft and lovely, and serenely beautiful. We know you will love our home and our charming resort community.

Please see the plat of our community under the map section on this site and or Google earth our address which is 1012 Cedar Key Lane, Huddleston, Va. Our home sits on a hill above the cabins, offering a spectacular view of the lake and Smith Mountain.

Please review our pictures of our home and you will see that you do not see the cabins unless you are

standing next to the windows from all the rooms in the house. We strategically placed the windows to assure all you see is the lake and mountains.

August 9th - 16, 2013

A magnificent time was had by all… what a great party house, speakers both in and out of the house, open floor plan with lots of sitting areas and the view… what a view, just beautiful. The deck is spectacular and the big old oak tree provides lots of shade. The bathrooms are awesome and loved the kitchen, great selection in cabinets and granite counter tops. If you don’t love this place, maybe you should only vacation at the Ritz.

We swam every day across the lake and back. Did lots of tubing once we were out of the cove, took the kids to some of the Islands where we and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. We even went peach picking at a farm outside of Bedford. Lots to do for the family. The house is perfect for a Romantic weekend as well. Comfortable furniture throughout, and most importantly, they have very comfortable beds. The house was spotless and the landscaping is very nice, especially gardens leading to the lake.

Great Vacation Home and Area

  • 5 of 5

Everything about our experience was top notch. The photos and description of the home was 100% accurate. The owner was super easy to work with and was very interested in helping us make our stay easy and enjoyable. The home is very comfortable and up to date. The bank of picture windows facing the lake provides an amazing view. We will definitely want to rent this home again the next time we vacation here.

Owner's Response: Thanks Vince, So glad you loved the house and community. It is indeed one of the the nicest spots on the lake. All the realtors have a waiting list for buyers who want to purchase homes in Cedar Key. We are the largest No Wake Cove on the lake and it is a treasure. Views from our side of the lake are also the best!

Feels like home!

  • 5 of 5

First, I must say that working with Alicia Yowell was a dream. She’s very professional, but also has a warmth that made me feel like I was simply an old friend borrowing the home for a bit. The layout of the house is perfect. Very open, with bedrooms secluded. Our family most enjoyed the outdoor space. The deck is beautiful! We made a lot of use of the dock and the canoe. Views are wonderful and being in the “no wake” area made for a very pleasant stay. My children enjoyed having their own space and all of us agreed that the beds were very comfortable. The adults enjoyed the recliners looking out onto the lake, and the whole family enjoyed having supper and playing board games on the deck. The house is fully furnished with more than enough seats for everyone to have a favorite spot (or three!). The house was stocked with games and puzzles and movies. Checkout was a breeze. We hope to be able to return in the summer someday to add swimming to our lake adventures.

Owner's Response: Thank you Aimee, so glad you and your family had a wonderful time. It is a magical spot on the lake and everyone comments on the No Wake Cove as being such a treasure. I am glad you enjoyed our decks as well. A lot of time and effort went into planning something beautiful and unique; I think our builder did a great job in capturing all our design recommendations. If you come back in the summer, the deck will be filled with flowers. Flowers are my passion so I love planting in the spring.

Extraordinary Mountain Views, Pristine Lake, Amazing Vacation Home!

  • 5 of 5

I wanted the "On Golden Pond" experience for our family where we could enjoy the quiet beauty of a beautiful lake and surrounding nature. This Lodge is the essence of this. We swam, kayaked, canoed, and paddle boarded during the day from our private deck. You are at a no wake zone and Smith Mountain Lake is pristine where fish swim at your feet.

This home is like staying at a thoughtful relative's house. No detail has been overlooked to make you feel at home at the Lodge. Views, views, and more views from every angle of the property. The home is very well equipped for everything from preparing dinners to simply relaxing. We enjoyed our dinners each night on the massive multiple decks followed by star gazing from the six person hot tub. There is surround sound system in the hot tub and the tub commands views of the mountain, lake, and the night sky. All of our family had a fun and relaxing vacation!

Absolutely gorgeous home and property

  • 5 of 5

This is a spectacular home. The pictures do not do the house or the property justice. The fishing is awesome right off your own private dock. Alicia was wonderful to deal with. We will definitely be back.
