Appartment Gallery 1 is in a meticulously restored century old building close to downtown and minutes from the subway (Metro), the Atwater Market and the historic Lachine Canal. An ideal home away from home for anyone that wants to be in one of the most dynamic neighbourhood in Montreal.

This 1 bedroom ground floor unit is bright and sleeps 2 to 4. Finished with hardwood floors, it is spotlessly clean & tastefully decorated with original art, high quality furnishings, linens & appointments throughout. This unit is handicapped accessible w 36” doors & only one step. It features a master bedroom with a queen size sleigh bed and the den has a sofa with a double pull out bed. The den can be closed off from the kitchen and dining room. There is a flat screen TV and a collection of DVD’s from our library of over 100 movies for all ages. We also offer cable TV and high speed wifi internet available throughout the apartment.

The bathroom has a deep tub that you can use to relax after a good day of sightseeing. In addition, there is a utility room with a front loading washer & dryer. The dining room is beside the all equipped kitchen. You also have indoor access to a very large deck with two patio sets and two BBQ’s on the second floor (Gallery 2 shares the deck with you). The deck is next to a beautiful rooftop garden. All our units also come stocked with books and board games. Called the GALLERY 1 because this is 1 of 3 units in the building that is located next to Jane's private art gallery & studio.

Our guests keep coming back because we offer great value and a quality experience in a dynamic but quiet neighbourhood, close to downtown and has many of Montreal’s top restaurants. Our other units in the same building are Gallery 2 (#213798) & Gallery 3 (#193135)

Good food is just steps away at the deluxe IGA grocery store or the delicious Atwater market where you can savour gourmet foods, pastries and deli style food. If you prefer to eat out, we are a few minutes walking from some of Montreal’s top restaurants (Joe Beef, Tuck Shop, H4C, Smoking Vallee, CHO, McKiernans, Magnans Tavern) or if you prefer a drink in a hip setting there is La Drinkerie, Burgundy Lion, Grumman 78, Ludger.

Aside from fine dining, there are many things to do in this area. Depending on the season, you could catch a famous Canadians hockey game at the Bell Center, go rock climbing at Allez-Up indoor rock climbing gym or rent a kayak and paddle on the Lachine Canal.

You can also walk or cycle on the Lachine Canal bike path which is just 15 minutes by bike to the Old Port and Old Montreal. Note that you can leave your bikes at home because we provide 4 adult bikes free of charge with helmet and locks based on a first come first serve system. Finally, for small children and family there is a nice park with playground and splash pad just one block away.

We love this area, it is vibrant and interesting. The Atwater market is a great place to have a nice coffee and a dessert on weekends and the Canal Lachine area is a daily source of enjoyment in the summer. Great bike paths and walking areas that lead to the Old Port of Montreal.

Good restaurants and we are very close to the subway system (called Metro) downtown reachable in minutes just a couple of station away.

Extremely Clean, Well-Appointed, Perfect for Enjoying the City by Bicycle!

We had a fantastic weekend at this apartment. We stayed on the ground floor, but we did go up to the patio on the roof a couple of times to enjoy the perfect, sunny fall weather. This is probably the cleanest apartment we've ever stayed in. It is bigger than it appears in the pictures. It also has a garage that is easily accessible, and is the perfect place to store bikes if you bring your own--or I believe you can rent from the owner too, though arrange this in advance. We brought our own bikes and were thrilled not to have to lock them outside, or lean them in the apartment. Store them inside the garage! When it was time to go each morning, we just opened the garage door and rode away! The linens were extremely luxurious. The closets where large and useful, as well as charmingly quirky. The apartment is only 4 blocks from the Lachine Canal (at one of its most scenic sections too!), so it is easy to head downtown on your bike; or out across the the St. Lawrence River on the bike path that parallels the Pont Champlain!); or out to one of our favorite places in Montreal, Parc René-Lévesque with all it's gorgeous views and larger than life sculptures; or ride past the donut shop (Léché Desserts) on Rue de Corcelle on your way up to the fantastic, protected 2-way bike path on Blvd. de Maisonneuve, to go east-west in the city. Everything about the experience staying here was beyond our hopes and expectations. We hope to come back and stay right here again very soon!

Perfect place to stay

The Gallery was a wonderful place to stay! My partner and I stayed while on our honeymoon, and everything was perfect. The space is roomy and the neighborhood is charming and accessible to the rest of Montreal.

This is the second time I've stayed at Gallery 1, and loved it just as much as the first. It's a great location - so close to the Metro and lots of fun restaurants/coffee shops. It is clean, comfortable and has everything my daughter and I needed. I'd definitely recommend it.

still a great spot

location location. and pretty quiet. but above all (for montreal) THE PARKING: it's as easy is it gets. just have to make sure you understand the signs, or T-I-C-K-E-T-S are in your future. handiest aspect is convenience store right across the street. beer, wine, just about whatever you happened to forget to buy somewhere else
