About the property

In a sea of ​​colors of flowers, 350m from the beach, sleeps 7, 10x5 pool

Maybe the first day starts like this: sitting in the shady patio under orange oleander blossoms blue Jacaranda and red bougainvillea, feeling the warmth, catching the scent of the flowers, enjoying their first coffee and planning the day. Meanwhile, the children discovered the swimming pool (10x5m) ("Mama, Mama! There are dolphins in the water!") And the laughter vibrates through the house (~ 160sqm over 12 rooms, with two fireplaces and a stove for the winter months. Each bathroom has its own toilet and a private shower).

You may decide to do the shopping first and walk the 750m through shady avenues up to the supermarket (Supersol). Or: the car can safely stay on the property, because beyond a certain purchase value many supermarkets deliver home.

After the purchases have arrived at home and some are housed in the huge refrigerator, you decide against a lunch at home (the first day is too early to try the fully equipped kitchen - see picture). So collect the kids (now busy playing football in the garden) and you leisurely stroll the 350m to the beach where you can choose one of 5 restaurants (see pictures).

The restaurants are popular with locals (Spaniards and foreigners) throughout the year. The service is friendly and the selection goes from fresh fish dishes to Spanish tapas to Italian dishes - plus fresh salad and great Spanish wines.

After that, the kids want to let off steam in the water, and you just want to lie in the shade and look out to sea. Both are possible. Either take a digestive walk to the sheltered bays of Puerto Banus (20 minutes walk - see picture) or you can rent right on the beach San Pedro beach chairs and umbrella (see picture). Most of the beaches in the area have showers, toilets and changing facilities.

In the late afternoon (it's still hot) and back in the garden, you're now under a palm tree (the garden is home to five palm trees) or on top of the sundeck (where eye-catching bright green budgies fly by), or you can see it Kids in the swimming pool and maybe at the same time wondering how the dark blue from the pool turns into a play of colors with purple and red bougainvillea, white and red oleander, yellow and orange roses, cactus (they turn yellow in June) - and all under the light blue summer sky (since 2011 the sun shines mostly continuously from January to November).

Meanwhile, the men sit with a cool beer in front of the 55 inch TV and watch a sports show (we have the normal German-speaking Free SAT TV channels and a DVD player, which is perhaps suitable for children's DVDs brought).

Everyone has a lot of space here.

For the evening planning we have to offer: boutiques, marina, a department store (El Corte Ingles) and countless bars in Puerto Banus (20 minutes walk along the beach or 5 minutes drive). If one skips Puerto Banus and heads for Marbella, one can explore the lanes of the old town of Marbella, meet at the Orange Plaza (Plaza de Naranjas) for dinner and then try the countless wine bars or perhaps visit a flamenco performance. Or they stay in the villa and sit outside under the sunshade - in the background the illuminated palm trees (see picture), the swimming pool and the barbeque grill delicious fish.

Access for guests

Our guests have access to the whole villa, the beautiful garden and of course the private pool (10m x 5m - this is cleaned daily in summer).

Interaction with guests

We welcome our guests personally, dedicate you to the villa. We are always available by phone, but prefer that the guest contacts us if there are any questions.

The neighborhood

A quiet residential area. The villa is only 350m from the beach and the beach restaurants. The supermarket (Standard Spanish 'Super Sol') is only 700m.

The shops of Puerto Banus and Marbella are only 5 to 10 minutes drive away (there are enough parking garages).

Saturdays is always market at the bullring near Puerto Banus. Marbella and San Pedro de Alcantara, 2km away, have markets where you can buy groceries during the week.

The bus stop is on the main road (700m away). It is a few minutes by bus to Puerto Banus and 15 minutes to Marbella. From the Marbella bus station it is easy to get to the airport or to Malaga, Seville, Granada etc.

e) Garbage may only be carried out after 9.00 pm (summer only)

We are an Englisch / German family who have owned this elderly but lovingly cared for Villa for a generation. The family spends most of their holiday here and therefore it is offered as a 'home form home'.

Why Marc Alexander chose Marbella

The Villa lies 350m from the Beach , there are great value for money restaurants that are used by local and epatriates all year round. The area is quiet yet centrally located with easy access to San Pedro, Puerto Banus (Department Store 'El Corte Ingles') or Marbella. Either on foot , bus or car.

Gibralter (duty free) and Malaga city are in opposite direction but both are easily reachable in 40 . 50 minutes by car via motorways. Whether it is Marbella , Malaga, Granada or Seville , everything is within reach by bus (airconditioned and again good value for money). Without doubt a car is useful but it is certainly not essential.

What makes this villa unique

The peace and quiet of the huge colourful garden (irrespective of the season there is always colour here) . Add to this the size of the house (for example there are two lounges with fireplaces) so that everybody can find their corner (even in winter) .

Every bedroom has its own shower/WC (we have one bath).

In summer life is spent around the the 10x5m pool, but there is also the option to withdraw to the pation , soak the sun up , upstairs on the sun terrace or choose one of 5 palm trees to sit under

Relaxing and beautiful, with all the facilities

From my initial communication with Marc, I knew that this was going to be a great holiday. He took the time to respond to all of our questions and provided lots of information about the local area. We were delayed collecting our hire car from the airport but I let Marc know and he was waiting for us as we arrived. He took the time to walk us round each room and make we were happy with everything.

The Villa is wonderful. We often woke to the sound of birds tweeting and had leisurely breakfasts on the patio. The kitchen has everything you would need to make really quite advanced meals although we used the BBQ often. Did I mention that it's huge? You can lose people in it. We were there with a heavy snorer and we didn't hear him once! The upstairs balcony is a nice area if you want to some private time. The pool is perfect, big enough to swim lengths and play games in. The Villa is walking distance to restaurants in San Pedro and close to the beach. This was easily the best 7 nights we've spent in Spain and we will be back.

Wow! So beautiful truly stunning property!

We have just returned from our holiday in this beautiful Villa. Marc was fantastic from start to finish felt very looked after! Villa has everything you need & more. Thank you so much for stocking the fridge for us very much appreciated after our long journey. We didn't want to leave , the pictures really don't do it justice it's so vast and spacious. The swimming pool is huge and we had so much fun! Thank you from all of us for a wonderful holiday.

Fabulous October long weekend away!!

Just returned home from a fabulous long weekend away with friends who recommended the villa to us when they stayed for two weeks in April. The villa was beautiful especially the outside with all the flowers in bloom, the weather was lovely for that time of year and we will defiantly will be returning next year. Would highly recommend.

We returned yesterday from a week-long stay at Marc’s beautiful villa, situated in Cortijo Blanco urbanisation, a well-established suburb of the Marbella region. As a family of three – my wife and I and our 7 month old – we were spoiled by the generous 4 double bedrooms, communal areas and outdoor space (the villa sits on quite an ample plot of verdant grass secured by high walls lined with purple bougainvillea). Large or multiple families would be well accommodated here.

Marc greeted us on arrival, helping us with our luggage into the master bedroom and then giving us a tour of the property. He was very helpful answering our questions – we were particularly eager to locate a supermarket to get stocked up on food and drinks ahead of the England game playing later that day – and even sent me directions via WhatsApp.

Unlike some of the other guests before us, we did opt for a car rental. It is by no means essential or necessary but did make those supermarket trips easier and the wider region more accessible. I would recommend a walk to Puerto Banús marina (a chance to see super yachts and supercars) and a visit to the towns of Marbella and Estepona for eating, shopping and soaking up some Spanish culture.

The villa is equipped with a large SMART tv hooked up to Satellite (Euro channels, mostly German) and has a decent wireless provision of broadband connectivity. I ran a speed test from my IPad and clocked a download speed of 35MB, which is ample for any streaming services you have on your mobile device (you can run Netflix right off the tv). There are also board games and a collection of English and German books for entertainment.

Our recommendation to Marc would be to install air conditioning sometime in the future (fans are provided and do a fairly good job of cooling the bedrooms down at night). Overall, this was a great holiday for us and we highly recommend Villa don Carlos to others.

A villa full of character.

My family and I were absolutely thrilled with the villa. Upon arrival it was immediately clear that the villa would not just meet our high expectations but also surpass them. The villa is full of character. It is clean, comfortable and well presented. It has spacious rooms and ample bathrooms which have been modernized. Inside the villa has everything you might need including excellent WIFI!!

Where this villa surpassed our expectations was the spacious and very well maintained outdoor garden with a large and welcoming swimming pool. The garden is full of colour and has comfortable spacious seating areas for catching some rays, having drinks before dinner or hosting a big family dinner al fresco.

Marc met us on our arrival to help us find our feet and introduced us to the door of the fridge which holds all the info you might need for your holiday while in the villa and out about town and the beach!!

it would be a pleasure to recommend Villa don Carlos to friends and family and we look forward to a future visit there.

2 weeks of bliss..

Upon arrival and meeting Marc we were both surprised on how beautiful the villa was. The pictures of the garden, pool area and roof sun terrace do not do this property justice! Marc was very welcoming and provided fantastic customer service throughout the process. Marc was very knowledgeable of the area and there was ample information within the welcome pack of all local amenities as well as excursions. Marc also provided a guided tour of the villa & ensured we was comfortable with how everything worked and where to find everything.

The property itself was very well maintained and even had a local gardener that came twice a week to maintain/clean the pool and garden, we didn't even see/hear him though we knew he had definitely been!

The interior of the villa was very well equipped, Internet, TV etc. However will say we couldn't find any English channels though this wasn't an issue as the 50" tv was a smart TV so easy to get Netflix or Youtube if needed and besides you don't come on holiday to watch TV! With 4 double bedrooms and 4 bathrooms this was more than ample especially for just the 2 of us! The 2 beds we did use were very comfortable & yes found it very hard to get out of in the morning, especially my wife!

The actual location of the villa was ideal for us, it's in a quiet urbanisation and did not feel overlooked at all. It's a stones throw from the beach which has a lovely promenade and numerous restaurants to choose from. The town of San Pedro is only a 15-20 min slow walk away with some lovely shops/bars & restaurants and is also very well priced and certainly has more the feel of a real Spanish town. Again if you are looking for a little more then Puerto Banus is also just a 15-20min slow walk away along the beach pathway/promenade which also has plenty more beaches/bars & restaurants enroute. If you would rather get a taxi then look to pay no more than 10 euros each way to or from Puerto Banus. Finally regarding the location it was in close proximity to both a super market and an Irish bar which had all the sport you needed and I must say the locals and bar staff were so friendly and welcoming, Joey the owner and Sam behind the bar were great guys! The local ex pats were also very friendly.

A hire car is not needed for this location unless you have good reason. Would I recommend this property? Yes 100% Will we stay again? Yes 100% & very soon! Marc, thanks for a great stay & look forward to seeing you again soon BR Al & Katy.
