The apartment is situated within walking distance to the busiest day and night time areas in town (Santos, 24 de Julho, Bairro Alto, Bica, Chiado, Cais do Sodré, Baixa, Chiado, Alfama).
Very close to all main transportation. Subway station – 5m walk. Tram and bus stop at the door. Train station – 5m walk: direct train to all the beaches of Estoril’s Coast and Cascais. Ferry station – 5m walk with connection to all the beaches of Costa de Caparica and to the south.
At walking distance to restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies, museums and all that the city has to Offer.
Services: Optional weekly (1 time per week) maid service at the following rate – 50,00€ per week.
I was born in 1972 and I am a designer.
I live in the apartment across the one I am renting. I was in charge of both apartments’ full renovation. I love the old quarters of Lisbon and their historic buildings. I always wanted to live in this part of town.
I love meeting people from abroad and I deal with my guests directly – from key exchanges, to cleaning, to repairs, and anything in between.
I try to be as helpful as I can in order to make you feel truly at home.

I specially picked this neighborhood to live in, because it’s undergoing an interesting transformation - from heavy industry and naval related commerce and services to becoming “Lisbon’s Hip District” .
Another great advantage of this neighborhood is that you can walk to all the busiest areas in downtown and you have all main transports and station near bye to take you everywhere else (including the beach). There are also all sorts of restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies, banks, etc. all around. Also, in the center, it is still one of the few areas where you can find a place to park. Two blocks away, there are two public parkings for your car.
This is an area that is still not too touristic and feels truly Lisboan.
This apartment has a great vibe. It's airy and full of sunlight all year round. It's in a high floor, so you have more privacy, security, sunlight and less impact from the street.
The building is original from the XVIIIth century, right after the great earthquake of Lisbon which took place in 1755. It was built in a typical 'Pombalino' style, a type of construction and architecture that are protected by law and candidate to UNESCO's World Heritage Patrimony classification. The building is mainly assembled with wooden beams, in a “cage” like structure inspired in naval construction from the period. A type of construction quite advanced for its time and considered to be the first anti-earthquake type of construction in the world. It is flexible, but it doesn’t break.
The renovation of the building and the apartment took in consideration this historical heritage. However, you will find a modern apartment with sound proofing on the ceilings and windows and all you should expect from a modern home.
Eine schöne Ferienwohnung im Stadtteil Santos-o-Velho im Zentrum Lissabons
Die Ferienwohnung liegt in der vierten Etage eines stilvoll renovierten Hauses in der Rua da Boavista 120.
Wir, zwei Ehepaare, waren im März 2013 für drei Tage in der Wohnung und haben uns dort sehr wohlgeführt. Der Empfang durch den Vermieter, Herrn José Luís Azevedo war ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Wohnung besitzt zwei geräumige Schlafzimmer, ein Badezimmer, eine separate Essküche und ein sehr einladend eingerichtetes, großes Wohnzimmer sowie einen kleineren Abstellraum. Gut geeignet ist die Wohnung für zwei bis vier Personen. Die Wohnung ist sehr sonnig, ruhig, vollständig geschmackvoll renoviert mit Liebe zum Detail. Sie bietet kostenloses Wireless-Internet und Kabel-TV (80 internationale Sender).
Von der Wohnung aus ist das Zentrum von Lissabon gut zu Fuß zu erreichen, man kann natürlich auch die historischen Straßenbahnen nehmen, die durch die Rua da BoaVista zockeln. In der Nähe befinden sich einige gute und reelle Restaurants, Herr Azevedo berät hierzu seine Gäste gerne.
Hier noch eine kleine Besonderheit des Hauses : unten im Hausflur befindet sich neben dem Treppenhaus eine kleine Schusterwerkstatt, wo ein älterer, freundlicher Herr beim Licht einer kleinen Lampe Schuhe repariert. Er hatte gut zu tun.
Wenn wir noch einmal zu viert nach Lissabon reisen sollten, würden wir diese Wohnung wieder gerne mieten.
Where does one even begin? Jośe and his apartment are fantastic and this could even be an understatement. Words cannot describe how lucky we were to find Jośe's beautiful flat for a recent trip to Lisbon. From the reservation process, to communication and arrival, he was incredible. Upon arrival, he was there to assist getting our bags up the stairs and spent an hour telling us all about Lisbon, making recommendations on what to do/see and getting to know our family. Jośe's personality is just delightful and getting to know him was truly a gift to my grandmother, mother and myself! The apartment is beautifully appointed and maintained with very comfortable beds, a stocked kitchen and all the vacation necessities one may need. The apartment location is fantastic and walkable to any major tourist attractions, a grocery store, shopping and restaurants. After a long day off exploring hilly Lisbon, a cab is also an affordable option to the apartment (€6 from just about anywhere in the city). We loved the city, the apartment and Jośe! Cannot wait to return to this incredible city hopefully in the near future. Thank you, Jośe!
The apartment is very clean and comfortable. Well located for outings in the city. Highly recommended.
Stayed here for 6 nights and in general it was a great "home base" for us. It was in a great location: easy walking distance to train/metro/tram stations and to the historic downtown. The location also seemed safe (as two women we were comfortable walking back after dark). There were restaurants and a small grocery store within a few blocks as well. The apartment itself was great! Both bedrooms were a good size, as were the living room and kitchen, and we made good use of the washing machine! One thing to be aware of is that it's on the 4th floor (for North Americans this means it's on the 5th floor since the ground floor is counted as "0"). Not a real problem or anything, just keep that in mind if travelling with anyone with mobility issues. The host was great about helping us with our bags though! The only drawback for us was the noise level. It was quite warm while we were visiting so we wanted to have the windows open but the street noise (both vehicles and people) was pretty bad some evenings. The narrow street kind of trapped the sound maybe? The windows were really high quality so if they were closed it was nice and quiet but then it got pretty warm. Not a reason not to choose this place, just bring ear plugs :) Overall we were quite pleased with the apartment and would recommend it highly!

Great location, very close to popular Time Out Market, metro, and trams. Also a short walk to Bairro Alto and Principe Real areas. Jose Luis' apartment is modern, clean, and comfortable. During our stay, he had provide great information on sightseeing, dining, beach, and nightlife information. He is a great host to showcase what Lisbon has to offer especially to first timers. We had enjoyed our stay in Lisbon and will highly recommend his apartment.
The apartment of josé is very well located, and very functional for 4 people. Cais do Sodré Train Station is 5 minutes away. It allows you to visit Belem or Cascais. The night life of lisbon await you in Bairo-Alto, Chiado or Baixa. I recommend this apartment.
