Your cottage is located on Winery Row in Page Springs, Arizona, fifteen minutes from the statuesque red rock formations of Sedona. Over a half mile of private, pristine nature trails wind along beautiful Oak Creek, taking you back a thousand years in time. Bald eagles, fish eagles, deer, giant blue herons, foxes, beavers, otters, ring-tailed cats, javelina, mallards, large mouth black bass, bluegill, and trout are but a handful of your neighbors.
Our property is also a popular location for bird watching; members of the Audubon Society often visit for the incredible bird life. The public Fish Hatchery is just one mile up the road and is a fun place to take the kids. The Out of Africa experience is just 20 minutes away, complete with zip lines!
In addition Mason Creek and Page Springs wind through your private paradise! Come enjoy this peaceful, serene retreat away from life’s tension and worries. As a pet friendly property, your 4 legged friends will find lots to explore also!
Your cottage is very rustic, yet high tech and elegant. The decor includes original oil paintings, bronzes and pottery; construction was completed in 2009. We also have another cottage (Quaint Getaway) on the same lovely property, so please inquire about it's availability if Piece of Heaven is booked.
Big screen hi-def TV, wireless internet, kitchen, two outdoor, private patios, BBQ pit, access to hot tub are but a few of the many amenities included.
All our photos are taken on the property. We encourage you to spend time fishing, swimming, hiking and enjoying romantic evenings, Several guests have enjoyed their visit so much that they came back for wedding bells on the property! Last minute booking specials available!
My husband, daughter (14) and I stayed here for 5 days when we visited Sedona. The cottage is a short and easy drive into Sedona, it's less busy and less expensive, (partly due to significantly less sales tax in Cornville vs Sedona, I learned this when talking with Chris on the phone). The house is on same property as the owner's house, another guest house and the owner's art studio. The owners were available when we had needs/questions but also gave us our own space. We had plenty of privacy. I enjoyed the second floor deck on the side of the house). There are lots of chickens on the property so if you are a light sleeper and don't like to wake up early then you might not appreciate the roosters crowing at 6am. I personally did not mind as I am an early riser. My husband could have done without the roosters. My daughter didn't seem to notice (teenagers sleep well).
The main door to come into the cottage takes you through the bathroom, but I didn't mind that. There is also a patio door on the other side of the house that can be used for going in and out so you don't really need to use the "bathroom door" except when you leave for the day as that is the door that uses the key.
The only reason I gave this property 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the fact that the hot tub was not working. We came to Sedona to do lots of hiking and wanted to soak our tired muscles in the hot tub in the evenings. The hot tub was a deciding factor when choosing a place to rent and we were disappointed that it was not working.
The house itself is well equipped and cared for. The kitchen had everything we needed. The linen closet had plenty of towels, blankets etc. The wifi was strong. At one point all three of us were using our computers at the same time and we had no trouble. The tv had premium movie channels which was nice for the nights. The washer and dryer worked well and there was even detergent available for our use.
Chris was always available by phone prior to and during our stay, so I felt that I had all my questions answered. I called him a few times prior to our stay because I kept thinking of more questions and he was always willing to answer my questions. We were made to feel very welcome, more like guests than renters.
This was a "girls" trip. Three generations from 92 to 58 yrs of age. This was a beautiful, peaceful setting. It feels quiet and secluded. Loved all the wildlife. Enjoyed a fire in the outdoor fireplace & roasted marshmallows under the stars. Sat by the creek and watched ducks and fish swim, listening to the frogs and birds. Your little piece of paradise or as the friendly gardener put it "garden of Eden". Everyone was very nice & we really enjoyed our stay!
If a person is looking for a quiet and delightful place to stay, this is it. We spent 2 weeks here. We felt at home, loved Mufassa, and all the chickens, turkeys and peacock. The cottage was very nice, clean and comfortable. Thank you Chris and Jacquie for all the fun conversations. You were delightful hosts. We hope to see you again. Bruce and Carol Onweller, Haslett MI
I took my wife here for her birthday and a Labor Day weekend retreat and it was even better than we expected. If you're looking for an amazing place away from the crowds of Sedona then this is it. It was clean, comfortable and the grounds were very inviting. Walk among apple, pear, peach and plum trees (and eat all you can!) and then sit on the upper veranda for sunset with a glass of wine. There are several wineries almost within walking distance and Sedona is just about 15 minutes away. Chris and Jacquie were very hospitable and we felt like we were family. We'll definitely be back. . .thank you both!!
My husband and I wanted to get away with our 4 small children, all under 6 where we could enjoy the weather, the water and trees. This place was perfect! I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the quiet outdoors more but the cabin was beautiful, the grounds were beautiful and my children were able to run around and play, BBQ and relax outside by a fire making s'mores. It's not very far from great tourist places such as Jerome and Sedona... So much to see and do! Thank you for everything! Chris and Jacquie were very welcoming and friendly and made us feel right at home!!! Thank you for sharing your piece of heaven with us!
I HAVE BEEN DYING TO WRITE THIS REVIEW!!!! I have read many other reviews about this place and although almost all of them are appropriately five star, they just don’t seem to do this place justice! I would like to rate this place as many stars as I see in the sky when I come back to one of their cabins late at night, amazing! Chris will probably show you around your cabin and when you meet Chris, if you don’t immediately know him, take that as a sign of youth, but understand, that someone in your family, more likely than not does! Regardless of who they are, you will find that Chris and Jacquie are two of the most down to earth people you will ever meet and they intentionally live their lives that way, which is so beautiful! The grounds, the stories and their history that goes along with it is incredible. They will tell you where to walk on the grounds and what to look for and although you don’t have to go far to see majestic beauty, there is something else that you need to plan for and arrange with Chris and Jacquie and I would suggest you do this “before” you get there! They have taken people on a tour in their Hummer, which, except for my kids being born, was clearly the BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!! Now, it’s an entire day and although they love to, they can’t always go, so it is “super” important to make sure they could go on one of the days you’ll be there. I’m probably being super cautious here, I just don’t want you to get there and miss out on this. You will visit two other countries, all in the same day; I know, I didn’t think that was possible either! There is so much more, but I don’t want to spoil it all for you! Ask them what happened with “birds” when I was there and if they don’t know who “I” am, tell them it’s the guy who stayed as a guest in their cabin and came home and started packing to move! The entire experience of staying at their place along with them taking me on the hummer tour has changed me forever!
We are very central. We are on Winery Row and have three wineries within a mile of our cottages. We are 15 minutes from Sedona, 20 minutes from Jerome (the ghost town), within two hours of the Grand Canyon, and an hour from Prescott. There is phenomenal hiking everywhere in this area and we have a nature trail which runs along the creek on the property itself. We are pet friendly and have a wonderful orchard which is in bloom from May thru Sept. Guests enjoy fruit free. There is horsebackriding and kayaking locally as well.
