House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

When you reach the desert getaway home you will find that you are half way up the mountainside with a mountain backdrop and a valley view. The valley view is miles of Sonoran desert with a faint view of an occasional train at the bottom of the valley. At night, you see some lights from Corona de Tucson some fifteen miles away. The back of the ranch is straight up the mountainside.

Located next to Colossal Cave Park and Saguaro National Park in Vail, AZ (20 miles) outside Tucson, this truly is the Sonoran Desert to perfection. The rocky mountainside with gigantic saguaros and other cactus engulfing it makes it “incredibly unique”. Just completed: 600 sq. ft. deck complete with Jacuzzi. Just the view is worth the price of admission.

Hi Craig,

Just a note to let you know we had another delightful stay at 1-mile Inn.

We enjoyed many a beautiful sunset from the front porch and Diane had her daily post-hike dip in the hot tub.

By the way, as of this year it is now possible to mountain bike from the

trail head at the N end of Alta Loma Rd. all the way to Hope Camp, picking up the AZ trail along the way. From Hope the AZ trail now continues (legally) northward to Pistol Hill Road. It is 7.4 miles one way, and the return trip is mostly down hill. This would be a good route for people at the beginner level of mountain biking (as compared to the more difficult sections farther south), although I also enjoyed the ride as an experienced biker. You might pass this info on to future residents at 1-mile Inn, who are interested in doing some mt biking.

Good price that comes with a view!

This property was fairly priced and came with a wonderful view. It provided a great place to relax and commune with the family. Thank you for providing a place that is away from the city, yet convenient. The road getting there was a bit rough, but it all worked all great.

Great Tucson Property

Great property at the end of a dusty road! We enjoyed the serenity of the property with its views of the Vail, easy access to desert hiking, and awesome sunsets. The house has all of the necessary accoutrements including a fantastic record collection. The house is well maintained and Craig's directions, property descriptions and advice were spot-on. We stayed at the property along with friends to watch our respective sons play spring-break baseball at the Kino Sports Complex. It was an easy ride to and from the sports complex to the house (roughly 30 minutes) with grocery stores along the way. We would definitively return and highly recommend it if you are interested in a quiet location, with near-by access to hiking/ biking trails.

It was exactly what we expected from the on line description. No surprises

The house was clean and comfortable. There were of amusing games and other diversions in the house including a collection of LPs and a phonograph to play them on. Horseback riding at Colossal Caves is only a few miles away. Mile long dirt road is not something one wants to do more than once a day. However, that is more than compensated by the wonderful views and the general sense of peace and quietness.

Quiet, relaxing location with great views.

The 1 Mile Inn is a very comfortable house in a quiet and picturesque setting. The house is well equipped and located close enough to Tucson to explore the area with little difficulty. Great communication with the hosts, from check-in to check-out. Excellent experience overall. If you are looking for a quiet retreat, this place will suit your needs perfectly!

Week getaway in Tucson

This house is off the beaten path, and it just perfect that way. Great house to sit out on the deck or in the hot tub and watch the stars. Everything you need is there and the house is in good shape. Good collection of vinyl records if you want to go retro. Would definitely come back someday

Beautiful and well stocked house for restful stay.

This home could not have been any better!

Lots of room and very cozy at the same time. Don't let the reviews that mention the dirt road deter you. It is not that bad and you just need to take it slow. Trust me-we would have driven farther if we had to.

There were so many things available in the kitchen and bathrooms in case you forget anything. There was laundry soap, dish soap, shampoo, lots ~I mean lots~ of towels, coffee pot and filters, microwave, toaster. We did not lack for anything during our stay.

It was so beautiful watching the sunrise on the large deck or even from the hot tub.

We would stay here again if we are in the area again. It was worth every penny!
