Get away from it all at Bear's Lair Cabin located on the banks of the New River in the lovely Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Enjoy the peace and serenity of the woods and nature with all the comforts of home.
Bear's Lair is a log cabin featuring a spacious great room with cathedral ceilings, hickory hardwood and tile floors, custom pine cabinetry, and a Jacuzzi tub in the master bath. With water views from every room, you never feel far from the river. Watch the sun set across the river from the large outdoor deck and porches while you listen to the melodic sounds of the river. Discover 5 wooded acres with over 300 feet of easily accessible river frontage; just steps from your door. Splash in the river, fish for your dinner, canoe or kayak downstream or hike/bike the New River Trail. This cabin, located in a private community is perfect for couples , a girl's getaway or the entire family--just waiting for fun and memories to begin!

Please Note: We are unable to provide satellite TV due to the large number of trees around the cabin (not willing to cut 7 trees, just to have TV) However, we do have 2 televisions with VCR/DVD and lots of movies for children and adults, family games, puzzles and books.~~~Cell phone service is excellent for Verizon and US Cellular customers.~~Sorry, no smoking and no pets; the owner has allergies.

Fishing getaway

Nice, clean, riverside cabin. Had everything we needed and was a peaceful getaway. No cell service (T-Mobile) a good chance to unplug and enjoy family. The river is beautiful both at the cabin and in many close, easy to access areas. There are many outdoor activities in the area and a short drive can land you in some nice small towns with antique shops and restaurants.

It was a perfect location to enjoy VA, NC and TN backroads on motorcycle. Very comfortable home with great views…and no internet!

River vacation

Very secluded stay. River and property are beautiful. The kitchen is well appointed and stocked. Our only suggestions are an upgrade of the mattresses. They were well below those found at similar properties. We cooked all of our meals for the week on the grill which also needs a complete overhaul. The river access is somewhat difficult and should be noted.

Peaceful getaway

Our extended family had the best few days at the cabin. Great porch to sit and visit, perfect area for the kids to play in the river (not too deep and flowed just enough for entertainment for hours), no direct view of neighbors, and lots of board games, puzzles and movies to watch. We plan to come back!
