Our Garden studio apartment was built in 2001. It is part of our house built in 1910 (Edwardian) and is located in one of the most enjoyable areas of San Francisco: The Inner Sunset. It is literally 1/2 block from the trolley car which will take you anywhere in the Bay Area. It is 1/2 block from University of California San Francisco and a block from Golden Gate park ( close to the De Young Museum, the Arboretum and the Japanese Tea Garden, Children's playground etc.
It features hardwood floors and Victorian molding to maintain congruency to the local architecture. The bedroom is located in the rear of the apartment overlooking the garden through French doors. They lead to a small deck with a table and chairs. It is a very quiet secluded area. We also have an extremely comfortable queen plus sofa bed located in the \ front of the house living room area.
The apartment has a separate entrance to an 1100 square foot
(101 sq meters )of uninterrupted space. It is light and airy.
The decor has a early century feel, but most of all it is a comfortable, clean space to come home to, after a day of working, sightseeing or shopping. It is a very safe area with a solid community. It is only a short walk to Golden Gate Park and all of its attractions. It is a 10 minute trolley car ride away from Ocean Beach. There is street parking and if necessary a parking place can be provided for an additional fee of $200.00 per month. It is located a minute away from University of California San Francisco Hospital. It has a state of the art washer and dryer and 2 state of the art flat screen televisions with cable and wi-fi

This rental had all the EXTRAS that soothed us at the end of long days of sightseeing: specialty soap in bath, fine linen and down duvets on beds, lovely decor. The unit was spotlessand looked like it was newly renovated, too. The host family was very pleasant and available to help us but not intrusive. Location is wonderful-one block to Golden Gate Park, one to public transportation. Cole Valley neighborhood is full of great eateries such as CHOW and has many bakeries at which you can grab breakfast on the go. A short walk to the Haight area, too. WiFi access was a bonus. A perfect rental! Hope to return in 2010. Many thanks to Pam!!
We stayed for 3 nights in this apartment (2 adults, 2 teens)
The property was very clean and confortable. We were delighted to have the sofa bed already prepared for the kids since we arrived in the middle of the nigh.
The location is perfect, close to public transportation. We would recommend to spent some time in the neighbourhood and discover local restaurants and bakery. We had nice surprises!
We would definitely stay here again if our destiny brings us back to San Francisco.
Thanks again Pam for your hospitality! Merci!
Myself, husband, 20 year old son, and 16 year old daughter stayed for a few nights during our first trip to San Francisco. We thought the apt. was great! It's in a fantastic location! Just a 1/2 block to the train, and in a neighborhood full of restaurants! You can walk to Haight-Ashbury, Golden Gate Park, UCSF, or catch the train to anywhere in town. (If you've never been to SF, they have a great public transportation system! If you plan to do "touristy" things as we did, I suggest getting a 1 or 3 day visitor pass. You can ride the MUNI, trolleys, and cable cars as much as you want. Dial 311, and there are friendly people who can tell you how to get anywhere you want to go. Also 311.com, which is great!)
The apt. is clean, well maintained, and spacious! It has some features that make travel more comfortable (as far as I'm concerned) such as a washer/dryer, keyless entry, comfy chairs to relax in bedroom area, good sheets, good towels, nice sized dining table and bathroom, hot tub, porch, fenced yard. The lighting system is even divided correctly, so that people can be sleeping in the bedroom, and awake in the front room. Open the windows and back door in the evening and a nice breeze blows in. We were actually able to relax at the end of the day when we came back to the apt.! We all enjoyed it!
Pam was also helpful in answering my questions. We would not hesitate to stay again or recommend to friends and family! Thanks, Pam and Sean!
My fiancee and I stayed at this property for three nights. The apartment is quite clean, more spacious than the photos appeared, which is a first, and well equipped. The bed was comfortable and the back yard and porch were picturesque. The apartment was easily accessible and in a wonderful area of San Francisco. My fiancee is allergic to gluten and we had no difficulty accommodating her diet in this area.
The only difficulty we found was that there is very little sound proofing, which is common in San Francisco in my experience. This made sleep somewhat difficult in the mornings and late at night as the apartment next door was in the process of construction in their back yard. Additionally, you will hear clearly the people in the apartment above and their dog. I would happily stay here again and I recommend it, however I also would recommend ear plugs or a noise machine for any light sleepers.
The apartment isn't wheelchair accessible, it has a step up to the door and a step down into the apartment, and it sits on a sloped sidewalk. Despite this, it is an extremely accessible apartment, very minimal stairs, and easy to navigate once inside. Therefore for anyone who has some mobility difficulties, this apartment would be a great choice.
Pam, who rents the apartment, was very easy to get in touch with through email, extremely polite, punctual, and professional. Thanks so much for your apartment, our stay was a pleasure.
We spent part of our honeymoon in San Francisco, and this apartment was a delightful place to stay while we were there. It's quite roomy, very well-maintained, and nicely decorated. The kitchen had everything we could want to cook for ourselves while we were there. The back deck and deep garden are lovely. The use of the hot tub was a real treat that we greatly enjoyed! Optional use of the garage was very helpful our first night there, before we returned the rental car.
The neighborhood is full of little shops and places to eat that are very convenient for visitors without a car. Public transportation is half a block away, and made getting around the city very easy. It was very nice to come "home" to this lovely apartment after sightseeing, rather than to a tiny, impersonal hotel room. We definitely recommend this apartment -- it really helped make our honeymoon memorable!
This lovely apartment was perfect for our recent stay in San Francisco to visit our son. It is well furnished
and has most everything we could want. We enjoyed the sunny deck and easy access key entry. The only thing missing was a set of sheets for the sofa bed and we couldn't get in the garage to do the recycling and garbage. We will stay here again when we return to the city.
Vibrant neighborhood with many cool stores and every ethnic restaurant you can think of. Because of its proximity to UCSF, there is a a large student population, cafes etc.. Very close to a 10 Min trolley car ride to the ocean or to downtown San Francisco. Home to our world class Symphony , Ballet, Museums , Restaurants. A 10 minute walk to Golden Gate Park, the Children's' playground and the Haight Ashbury.
