About this property

Lakeside Adirondack Getaway: 7 day minimum July and August

If you are looking for a quiet mountain retreat this is your spot. The home, on Eagle Lake, sits on 11 acres of land and has been in the family since the late 1800's. The original home built in 1891 was replaced with a modern camp/cabin in the 1960's and has been updated

The views of the lake, mountains and of course the sunsets are breathtaking. Spend a day at historic Fort Ticonderoga and learn about the important role it played during colonial times.

If you love to kayak, hike, swim or sail, Eagle Lake is the place to be. Quick access to the lakefront is by steps or a path. (both somewhat steep)

A day trip to Burlington Vermont to visit the Shelburne Museum or lunch and shopping in Lake Placid are always a treat. Montreal is 2-4 hours way by car or train--Amtrak has a stop in Ticonderoga. The Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake is a must see as well.

An up to date kitchen, a large master bedroom and a great deck are just a few highlights. The downstairs also has 2 comfortable queen futons. Summer is lovely on the lake but don't miss out on the fall foliage--- see the beautiful autumn colors while cruising Lake Champlain on the Carillon, a 60 ft lake boat departing from Fort Ticonderoga.

While we are pet friendly (one pet), please do not leave your pet alone if you are away for the day. Pet fee is $50. Kindly keep pets off furniture or bedding and pick up yard waste.. Cleaner will check for scratching and other damage upon departure. Please do a quick vacuum for shedding/fur in house.

MINIMUM STAY IS ONE WEEK during July and August
Partial weeks ( or long weekends) are sometimes available after Labor Day to October 20 ;

PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO WIFI OR CELL SERVICE at the house.. Maplefields, Black Watch Memorial Library and McDonalds in downtown Ticonderoga all have wifi.

Of note: The driveway to the house (1/4 + mile from Route 74) is steep (2 hills) . Please park near garage not on lawn.

The family also asks that our guests practice water conservation measures.
PLEASE NOTE: 7 NIGHT MINIMUM DURING JULY AND AUGUST

BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY
Hubby and I really enjoyed this property. The views of the lake are gorgeous! The canoe and kayaks are fun to use. Hubby was out fishing twice a day. The sound of the loons was perfect. This place is like "Golden Pond". The house is equipped with everything we needed. The only reason I did not give this property 5 stars is because I thought the exterior of the house could use a good cleaning. The views are so beautiful but I could not help notice the dirty windows.

Relaxing family vacation
This is a beautiful Adirondack property. The home has everything you need to be comfortable. Especially enjoyed the old books including the ones about the history of the property. Kayaks and canoe were great for enjoying the lake and fishing. We heard the loons calling in the evenings—something calming and magical about hearing them out on the lake.

The stay was good. We were surprised that there were no towels and sheets. That would be ok if we were taking a road trip, but my husband and I traveled from Utah. We did find a few sheets and towels. We also bought a few things from Walmart. We left the towels there. I'm glad we figured out how to reach the owners, someone we could talk to. Our friend saw some mold in the bathroom downstairs, but I did not use the bathroom downstairs. It was a house in the woods, and some of that stuff is to be expected along with a few spiders. I just killed a couple. All in all, it was a good stay. Thanks so much.
