The building known as the school (la escuela) at Sorrueda is known as such by the villagers as it was used as a rural school towards the end of the 60s for the locals from the municipality of Santa Lucia.

Its traditional Canarian architecture provides the property with a balanced temperature , cool in summer and warm in winter. Its layout centralises the most used services in the larger areas of the property. The design of the building takes into account natural lighting and the combination and harmony of the furniture provides the guests with a warm and cosy atmosphere.

Wonderful!

The location is perfect. In a valley with palm trees all around the hamlet, our stay a La Escuela was relaxing yet engaging at the same time. The location is a small village, with small-holdings and the sounds of the village animals waking in the morning, as the sun rose onto the valley side opposite will be a favourite memory. The property itself is well equipped, clean and very comfortable (beds & sofas in particular) and we would not hesitate to recommend as a perfect base for exploring the whole island, particularly the central massif, which will appeal to walkers.

liebevoll und bis ins letzte Detail gestaltetes Haus mit allem Komfort, Parkmöglichkeit direkt unter der Terrasse, Kontakt mit Besitzern, dem Makler und der Reinigungskraft sehr gut. Blick von der Terrasse traumhaft. Santa Lucia in 5 Min. mit dem Auto erreichbar, gute Straßen und Essens- bzw. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten

La Escuela, La Sorrueda

Location: beautiful situation with superb view across valley. Parking always available directly outside. Very quiet but easy access to Santa Lucia. Local restaurants served excellent food with good menus. House: Excellent, spacious with attractive, large balcony. Comfortable sitting and dining area inside. Two good sized bedrooms with adequate storage space. Effective heating/ cooling system throught. Cooking facilities were excellent with full oven and 4 ringed hob and a good range of pots, crockery and glasses. All the facilities we could want were there. The washing machine was very useful although it has an intermittent fault which sometimes prevented it from working.

Why they chose this property

This is a nice and comfortable rural house in one lovely landscape full of palms trees. Very quite place with many walking paths around to enjoy the scenary. Nearby Anzite is a very interesting archeological site with many ancient caves to explore.
The winter in this area is very mild.
