We had a wonderful stay
The cabin is very clean, in a pleasant woodland environment, and conveniently located not too far from the New River Gorge attractions. It has all the amenities, including a hot tub. We very much enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.
We enjoyed our 3 night stay. We spent a day whitewater rafting and enjoyed the hot tub afterwards. The cabin is close to a few others but it’s extremely quiet. The restaurants were nearby and had excellent food - Pies and Pints. We also enjoyed the short hike around the property with our dog.
Hico Family Vacation
Nice Quiet Location for a family vacation. Outdoor spaces were great with the covered Hot tub, covered back porch, front porch with swing and the fenced in back yard with fire pit. Close to many attractions. Beautiful area. A little hard to find if you do not pay attention to the written directions but this was a minor detour. The only negative I have is that like most cabins the insulation is not great so you can hear every footstep upstairs - at least it is your own family! Property manager answered immediately both times I called.
Great experience. Relaxing weekend. Highly recommend
The cabin was very centrally located.
Cynthia, the owner, came over to fix the fireplace pilot light. She lives at the complex of cabins. The cabin is rated for 8 but it really is only comfortable for 6. The upstairs shower does not get hot water. So we all showered in one bathroom.
There was a welcoming plate of cookies. And the hot tub was GREAT in the cold weather. The fenced back yard is perfect for dogs.
We will check on the shower. We have one centrally located hot water tank that is plumbed to both bathrooms so both should have had plenty of hot water. We would have addressed that immediately if we had known. We are happy that you enjoyed the rest of the cabin.
Extremely comfortable with top notch amenities.
My wife, son, daughter-in-law and their dog made this cabin our base of operations for a Gauley River weekend. My wife loved the comfortable living room furniture and hot tub, my son enjoyed cooking steaks on the very clean gas grill while our daughter-in-law enjoyed knowing our grand dog was contained inside the fenced in back yard.
The campfire was an awesome way to unwind and warm up after our Gauley rafting trip.
We will absolutely stay here on our next trip to this area not only for the reasons already mentioned, but also because of the great location of the property.
Outside lights, both in the front and back of the house, would be about the only way to improve the property.
We are in the heart of West Virginia's outdoor playground. We are minutes from the New River, the Gauley River, Summersville Lake, Hawks Nest State Park, New River Gorge National Forest and Babcock State Park. The variety of actvivities include whitewater rafting, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, rock climbing, swimming, fishing, boating, ATV riding, zip lining, golfing and more. New in 2010 is a interpretive bridge walk under the New River Gorge Bridge over 900 feet in the air. We are the place to stay for the Bridge Day Festival and the Appalachian Stringband Festival. The spectacular scenery is worh the trip alone.
Other Activities: Boating, Wildlife Viewing, Snowboarding
