PERFECT LAKE & MOUNTAIN HOME FOR A FALL/WINTER GET-AWAY. 15 MINUTES TO KING PINE. 20 MIN TO CONWAY, on MAJOR SNOWMOBILING TRAILS.

Please note we rent to families and couples only. No large groups, guys weekends, or parties larger than 6 adults, or 4 adults and 4 kids. All guests must be respectful of neighbors. Please refer to the attached rules.

This home provides a relaxing vacation getaway with so many outdoor and indoor amenities you may decide to never use the car for your entire stay! You can enjoy many outside activities such as SNOWMOBILING, X-COUNTRY SKIING, SNOW SHOEING. Or you can relax in the comfortable living room and enjoy the cozy gas fireplace and catch up on some movies on the HD home theater with cable, or use the wireless internet. You can cook up a great meal in the fully equipped kitchen or on the gas grill.

The Silver Lake Timber House is located across the street from pristine Silver Lake, a 3 mile long river fed lake just 20 minutes south of Conway at the entrance to Mt Washington Valley. Silver Lake is one of the cleanest & deepest lakes in NH with a large sandy association beach just a 2 minute walk away. Other 'lakes' in Madison are actually ponds. The association beach area has beautiful mountain views toward Mt Chocorua, the Sandwich range and all the way north to Mt Washington. There are trails for snowmobiling, hiking and mountain biking. Since East Shore Drive is a dead end road the traffic is light making for a nice place to walk, run or bike.

There are plenty of nearby restaurants, stores, local attractions within minutes of the home. The village of Conway and North Conway with more shopping, restaurants, skiing, golf and other attractions and activities is a scenic 20-30 minute drive north.

The town no longer issues guest parking passes for the beach. Guests can drop off and then walk 2-3 minutes from the house to the beach.

The town now requires a $100 seasonal permit fee to use the boat ramp. Permit must match the boat registration. Can be acquired at town hall

Thanksgiving

It has become our tradition to stay here for the holidays! The best value between Lake Winni, the White Mountains and the Kancamangus Trail! A dream location for hikers, skiers and photographers. The rental has every amenity you can imagine. And the beauty .. equal to or better than Squam Lake (On Golden Pond), 30 minutes away! An absolute treasure!

Thanksgiving getaway

Silver Lake is a hidden gem .. scerene with quick access to hiking trails and scenic views (and polar swims for the adventureous)! We booked a year ago and needed to cancel last minute due to COVID, Our host enabled us to rebook the following year without any extra fees or penalities. The property has everything one could want .. foosball, ping pong, pool table, fireplace, cable TV and every kitchen accessory (including spices, tea, blender, mixer ,, you name it) needed. Even the tap water was excellent! The world is a big place with many places to see but this was a must return to adventure. Don't be fooled by the market price .. it is worth every penny. We created a memory with our family that will last a lifetime! Thank you Paul!

When we built this home in 2007 we wanted to construct something unusual that reminds us of the rugged NH wilderness yet provides all the comforts of home. We built The Silver Lake Timber House the same way a barn would have been built over 200 years ago - using large Eastern White Pine timbers that are pinned together with Oak pegs using handcrafted techniques passed down over the years. Of course modern amenities such as insulation, high efficiency windows, latest in plumbing and heating, and meticulous finishes were added.

Why they chose this property

We love our home and it's convenient location in the NH Lakes Region and also at the gateway to the White Mountains. The view from the lake looking at the mountains to the north reminds us of how great this location is. We enjoy the letters and notes from our guests that enjoy their stay at our home as much as we do.
