About Rodney Rogers
Hello, my name is Rodney Rogers. I am married to my lovely wife Christie. We have 2 wonderful sons Justin and Jamison. We own Pee Dee Fire & Safety Inc. We both graduated from Francis Marion University in Florence SC where I also played baseball. I was born and raised here and love the weather and slower pace of life. I have been in the service business for the last 15 years and know the importance of taking care of my clients. We go above and beyond what our clients expectations are and from comments from our guest they really enjoy visiting at Hideaway Haven. Starting in Nov. 2012 we will have a 2nd row beach house with heated pool for rent. 1898 S. Waccamaw Dr Garden City SC. vrbo #436735

Why Rodney Rogers chose Marion
This land has been in the Rogers family for over 60 years. It was once a working farm with the main crop being tobacco. It joins my moms 100 acres and I bought it from my aunt and uncle in 2004. Large tracts of land are hard to come by now so I am very pleased to have bought it. for families that want to be near the beach but not in the middle of all the hustle and bustle, this is paradise. Only one cabin on the 100 acres, so you have all the privacy you could want. Lots of wildlife and nature to clear your mind.
What makes this Cabin unique
The cabin is built overlooking a 1/2 acre pond with bass and bream. The cabin is made up of mostly pine wood from the trees off of the property. Lots of handmade items such as the spirial staircase. Kitchen sink was used on the farm at one point. We made a 20 foot waterfall that gives you that feeling of being in the mountains beside a flowing creek. You are one with nature and yet are only 15 minutes from super-walmart!!

Had a great time only thing was the internet or wifi didn't work other than that had a great time
This cabin has a great ambience and location. But however, the outside is in severe neglect there were spiderwebs everywhere around the windows and around the deck and front screened in porch. Waterfall and golf cart were unavailable. There was no Wi-Fi. Overall the sheets were clean.
Quiet and relaxing
Some of the amenities listed were not working. The waterfall was out of service, there was no telephone service or internet for the free wi-fi. That said, the cabin was quiet, cozy and peaceful. Just what we were ultimately looking for in a getaway.
Cabin nice but property was overgrown
The cabin was nice but the property was overgrown and not maintained. Golf cart was not in working order. Horseshoes were limited and broken. Picnic table was overgrown along with the pond. Our boys still had a good time fishing. The Green Egg was awesome. Screened in porch was nice. Very secluded. We highly recommend packing lots of bug spray and beware of the black and red snake that likes to sun bathe on the steps and the spiders are Huge. Towels smelled fresh and the bed linens were clean. Thanks Deb 😁
It feels like a mountain get away!
It was a beautiful cabin! The waterfall was very peaceful! We enjoyed the hot tub. Cabin was decorated pretty. We loved the screened porch with a porch swing and a game of checkers. It was definitely a nice place to get away from the rat race!
Hot tub is the centerpiece
I have to admit, when we first arrived at the cabin, I wasn't sure I was going to be happy with the choice. We weren't fully prepared for the small, gas oven (but we made it work), there was no toilet paper in the bathroom, the beds are a little dated and not very comfortable (old springy mattresses), and the internet in the house was out the entire time we were there. I figured it was a temporary outage, but it never came back on for the 2 days we spent there. We were looking forward to listening to music outside by a campfire and in the hot tub, but between no phone signal and no internet, that didn't work out. There was no firewood for a bonfire or the fireplace, though the welcome binder said occasionally there would be some in the shed (there was not). That said, there are plenty of good things as well. The property is very remote and private, with discreet entry (keypad to access door key). If you enjoy being away and 'off the grid', then this place will be great. There are plenty of walking/hiking trails through the surrounding forested area, and the night sky views are wonderful, especially from the hot tub on the deck (which by the way, could probably seat 5-6 comfortably though it was just the two of us). I can understand needing to bring some of the basics when you go away for a few days (bathroom essentials and whatnot) but I kind of expected at least some of those things to have been provided. All in all, we made the best of the few days we spent there even with the few unexpected things that came up. We would most likely stay again in the future but would check on the amenities ahead of time.
Looking forward to having you at our cozy cabin. A little info for you:
