This amazing executive loft condo sits on the third floor of a 100 year old converted warehouse, and has just received a $35,000 makeover by one of SLC’s top interior designers. Picture having an upscale SOHO Loft in Downtown Salt Lake City.

The location of this condo is ideal for a traveling executive, or couple looking for a romantic getaway. Located just 8 minutes from Salt Lake International Airport, the condo is within ½ block from the Gateway Shopping Center (tons of shopping, nightlife, entertainment, people watching, movies...), walking distance to the Salt Palace Convention Center, Temple Square, Energy Solutions Arena, Downtown Farmers Market, and all of the Business/Financial areas that make up Downtown SLC!!!

The condo is also a very short walk to Trax for easy access to the U of U, and the rest of the Salt Lake Valley. If skiing or snowboarding are your thing, you will be within 35 minutes of Park City/Deer Valley, and 5 other world class ski resorts.

This stunning Urban-Chic loft has just gone through a 12 month makeover by one of SLC's most sought after designers. Everything from the custom local artwork, to the exotic fabrics and wall-coverings, to the 52' 1080p LCD TV with Blu Ray player have been carefully thought out, making this a fantastic destination while vacationing in fabulous Salt Lake City.

About Jennifer Thornton

Gary and Alli Thornton both grew up in Orem, Utah. While Alli attended BYU, Gary graduated with a business degree from the U of U. Alli has been a professional dancer/choreographer for years, and currently owns a nationally recognized dance studio in Orem, UT called The Dance Club. Gary is the boring one. He owns and insurance agency, and also works for an HR/Payroll company. The couple have 2 kids, and currently live in Highland, UT.

Why Jennifer Thornton chose Salt Lake City

As a young married couple attending the University of Utah, we fell in love with downtown Salt Lake City, and always talked about being able to buy a little 'Urban Cabin' one day in the center of SLC. In 2008, we were fortunate enough to find this beautiful little condo, and have absolutely loved it. Whenever we are looking for a little escape from Suburbia, it's nice to be able to head to the 'Big City' for a couple of days. We love being within walking distance to all of the arts, restaurants, and entertainment in SLC.

What makes this condo unique

Our building sits in what is called the Warehouse District of SLC. The building is over 100 years old, and is the original home of an old toy manufacturer. The building was converted to condos in the 1990's but retained much of the original architecture. The exposed brick and beams make it one of the most unique condo buildings in SLC. We literally searched every condo project in SLC before we settled on this building. It's so unique. We just love it. You can't beat the location either. We are literally walking distance to everything in downtown SLC.

Nice but wish I'd known more before renting

The condo itself is beautiful. It is nicely furnished and the bed is comfortable. Shower is a bit tight but the water pressure is excellent.

I decided to rent this condo rather than stay at the Hillton because I thought, for the same money, why not get an entire condo? One review even said there were mountain views, so I assumed there was a patio with a view of the mountains in the background.

The windows had been cracked or something and I did get a message from Jen that they were going to be replaced which might interfere with my checkin. However, when I arrived, the windows had masking tape on them and there was no patio, just a view of an alley and a patio on the ground floor.

Another thing I was warned about was the elevators being down. When I arrived, they were still not in working condition (although they were fixed before I left). For a third floor condo in high altitude, that was no fun.

Be sure to bring coffee! There is a coffee shop downstairs with wifi but there was no coffee or other hotel-like niceties (shampoo, lotion, bottled water, etc) provided with the rental. The fridge does have cold filtered water so that was good. There were also lots of spices in case you were cooking.

And one of the most important things that nobody mentioned - there is a homeless shelter about 2 blocks away. There were often homeless people standing right near the walk-in gate which made me nervous (I was traveling alone) and a few times they asked for spare change. They were not aggressive or anything like that, but it's something to be careful of, particularly at night.

A tip for those using Uber or taxis - be sure to use the address for Finca (the restaurant on the ground floor) because anytime I used the actual address it took the drivers to the next street over.

If you are traveling with one or more people and plan to spend a lot of time in your room (or reheating leftovers from the great restaurants nearby), then this would be an awesome place to stay. Otherwise, you're better off getting a nearby hotel (there are several) for safety reasons.

Great location, good bed and kitchen, we'll be back

Well decorated, secure, well located around corner from best coffee in SLC ' Rose...!, we liked it very much !

Kitchen well equipped and modern.

Minor negatives .. Little dusty as Windows need weatherstrip, and bathroom a little tight. Excellent shower and hot water.

If five star is Monaco hotel, this is a ample roomed Fourstar.

I stayed in this beautiful condo for a couple of weeks and loved it. Completely remodeled and extremely comfortable. The location is awesome as there are many great restaurants within a couple of blocks. Whatever you do make sure you eat at Valters which is three blocks away. Just voted top 50 in the United States. Jen made everything very easy to check in and out. Overall great experience..

Clean, Comfortable Stay in Prime Location

My wife and I stayed four nights in this beautiful loft. It was well appointed with everything we needed when we chose to stay in, and its location made rambling the city a breeze. From the mountain views to the comfortable bed, this property is everything it is advertised to be. Don't overlook the restaurant below the apartments if you are looking for tapas and atmosphere. We'll be back.

Great place to stay!!

This condo is exactly as advertised and was very nice. Located near both malls, downtown SLC, the airport, and Park City made this a perfect place for our visit. It was also very quiet at night so sleeping was not an issue. We will definitely stay here again on any future visits.
