Enjoy carefree and relaxing holidays in the Ruhmühle!
The Ruhmühle holiday home is just 3 kilometers south of the spa town of Scheidegg, far from all noise and traffic in the middle of beautiful meadows and forests, right next to the Maisach stream.
The Ruhmühle is a simple, original self-catering holiday home with two apartments as well as three double rooms and two single rooms (a maximum of 20 beds). The house has three dining rooms and a large kitchen, making it ideal for family gatherings. Unique ambience in the 600 year old house.
There is a large meadow by the house, surrounded by trees. The stream invites you to play, splash around and build dams.
Distribution of the glory mill:
On the ground floor you reach the Allgäu Stube via a large, spacious hall on the right. From there (and from the hallway) you come into the large kitchen. It is available to all guests of the house as a communal kitchen. To the left of the hall there is another large and a small room. Furthermore, the boiler room with washing machine and dryer is on the ground floor. In addition, a total of 3 toilets.
A staircase takes you to the 1st Floor. There are two apartments 1 and 2. In the 2nd On the first floor are the individual rooms, the shared shower with toilet and the extra toilet. All rooms on the 2nd Floor (except for the DZ Thistle Room) have their own wash basin. The thistle room has a double bed (1.60 x 2.00), the other 2 double rooms have separate beds that cannot be pushed together.
Distribution of apartment 1 (approx. 45 sqm): via a hallway you reach the spacious living room, furnished with a sofa bed with mattress (140 x 200) for 2 people, 2 single beds, TV, table and chairs. You also come from the hall into the bedroom with double bed (1.80 x 2.00) and into the bathroom (toilet, shower and tub).
Distribution of apartment 2 (approx. 80 sqm): the apartment has a large hall, in which the dining area is also located. The hallway leads to the living room (2 sofa beds for one person each), the office (a sofa bed with mattress, 140 x 200), the kitchen (without dishwasher), the bathroom (tub), the toilet and the bedroom with a double bed (2.00 x 2.00). The bedroom leads to another room with an alcove (single bed).
Since the house was built 600 years ago, it has low ceilings and thin walls. Most adults have to pull their heads in at the doors :-)
There is no internet in the house.
The house opposite serves as the family's private holiday home and is inhabited at irregular intervals. Please be considerate of other holidaymakers during your celebrations and stays.
The Westallgäu offers a variety of leisure activities and sporting activities. Lake Constance, Austria and Switzerland are right on the doorstep. Visitors to the trade fairs in Friedrichshafen and the Bregenz Festival are also happy to book the Ruhmühle.
Skiers get their money's worth in Scheidegg. The Luggi-Leitner lift in Scheidegg / Möggers is particularly suitable for families and beginners of winter sports. The 900-meter drag lift transports winter sports enthusiasts to a plateau 1,000 meters high. But also experts get their money's worth. If the snow conditions permit, a small half pipe with jumps and tables will be set up for the pleasure of snowboarders and skiers.
If, exceptionally, it hasn't snowed enough in Scheidegg, then the neighboring, higher-lying ski areas can be reached by car in a short time.
Hopfen panorama lifts (approx. 15 km, with snow-making facilities)
Ski arena Imbergbahn (approx. 30 km)
Alpenarena Hochhäderich (Bregenzerwald)
Hochlitten ski lifts (Bregenzerwald)
A list of all ski areas in the region can be found on the page www. your-allgaeu. de.
In the warm seasons, a visit to the beautiful Alpine outdoor pool between Scheidegg and Scheffau is recommended. There is also a great forest lake and an indoor pool in Lindenberg, as well as an artificial ice rink. There is a small reptile zoo in Scheidegg. The treetop path is also worth a visit.
You can also find countless opportunities for hiking and walking on www. your-allgaeu. de.
The famous mill was first mentioned in 1419. The name of the glory mill comes from the documents because it was a “rough grinding mill”. Another explanation says that it got its name from a miller named Rau, who Century the miller's craft practiced here.
