Our Gulf-front unit is directly on the Gulf of Mexico, with magnificent sunsets. Our recently renovated two bedroom cottage decorated condo is sparkling clean, bright, and comfortable. It’s a home, not a hotel room. Our previous guests all rave about the cleanliness and amenities provided.

Everything you need is waiting for you, just add your groceries and summer clothes. A full size washer and dryer are in the unit, and a gas grill is on the beach, ready for a sunset BBQ.

The Gulfside heated pool was just recently retiled and resurfaced and is very resortlike.

The pool area has a very tropical setting with beautiful Gulf breezes and Gulf views.

Restaurants and shopping are located within a five minute walk. A golf course is across the street. Renting a car is not always necessary, a trolley will take you the full length of the island for additional shopping, supermarket, restaurants, and “Times Square”, our small Key West like downtown area. Boat rentals are available at nearby Fish Tale Marina.

Our condo is located on the southern “quiet” end of the island. We are located directly on what is called the double beach. We have a beautiful Critical Wildlife Area/ bird sanctuary between us and the Gulf of Mexico, called Estero Beach Lagoon. This area has recently been named as one of the top 100 best birding areas in North America. Here you will see a variety of birds on a daily basis, including Heron, Egret,Pelicans, Roseate Spoonbills, Eagle, and many other shorebirds. The main beach is a short beach walk around, or across to the sandbar.

Eden House is a small friendly low rise building with only 35 units. Enjoy the inviting beachside heated pool, our warm, year round temperatures, Gulf Breezes, seven miles of white sandy beaches, and an unobstructed view of the Gulf from inside the condo. We await your visit.

We are originally from Long Island, New York. twelve years ago we picked Fort Myers Beach as a vacation destination and fell in love with the island.

We loved it so much we moved down here full time!

What we love about Fort Myers Beach is #1, the weather, and

#2, the feel of living on a Caribbean island, with all of the ammenities just a few minutes away.

Living on Fort Myers Beach allows us the ability to be active outdoors all year round. We enjoy playing tennis, kayaking, fishing, boating,long walks on the beach, biking, and more.

We love the proximity to all of the great local restaurants, state parks, and cultural activities too.

Why Shelley Sue Williams chose South Island

We actually bought our condo to use for our home, not for a rental. After 8 years, we decided to purchase a 3 bedroom condo and put this condo into the rental program in Dec. 2008.

This location, at the South end of Fort Myers Beach, is known as the 'quiet end of the island.'

It is close to shopping, restaurants, golf, boat rentals, a branch of the post office and has

easy access on and off the beach through Bonita Springs.

It is also only 2 miles from Lovers Key State Park, one of the top 10 beaches in the US.

What makes this condo unique

The location of this condo on Estero Beach Lagoon is superb!

The birdwatching is unparalleled in this area. On a daily basis you can see a large variety of birds including Osprey, Egret, Heron, Roseate Spoonbills, Pelicans, and many other shore birds. We have a resident Eagle that has been recently spotted fishing for dinner.

The pool at Eden House was resurfaced and retiled in May, 2009, giving it a brand new appearance. New comfort height pool furniture was purchased in January, 2010.

The pool is Gulfside and has gorgeous views of palm trees swaying in the breeze and the Gulf in the background. There is always a refreshing Gulf breeze.

You will not find nicer folks than Shelley Sue and Bob, and you will have no worries staying at The Eden House. You will have many memories of an awesome vacation. Estero Island offers so much to do!

Great time at Fort Myers Beach

What a lovely condo Shelley-Sue made available to us. It had everything we needed. Comfortable beds, laundry, beach chairs and umbrella, not to mention a covered screened in patio and a gorgeous view of the gulf! So convenient to Lovers Key State Park where there is biking, hiking, kayaking, and of course a free tram to another beautiful beach. It is located on the quiet end of Fort Myers Beach. Everything my husband and I hoped it would be. Will certainly visit again.

Quiet off season trip

I wanted an inexpensive, CLEAN place to stay with a kitchen for an off season trip to the beach. This condo is clean, new refrigerator and dish washer with a wonderful view of the gulf coast. All booking went well, and the owner is easy to work with. I had a wonderful time.

Totally positive.

Our trip was in early August. There was plenty of sun and some rain but little that limited our activities.

The condo was very well maintained and was just as advertised and commented in other reviews we read. The kitchen was stocked with table ware, cooking utensils and even several spices. The family room was comfortable and in good shape. The deck view was just like the picture showed it. The walk to the beach was about 50 yards to the right going out the door and it was great to not have to provide a chair or any other beach items including towels. Bedrooms and closets were spacious and all the linens and towels top quality. The beds were firm so if you like a "pillow-top" mattress this would not be your first choice. We made use of the washer /dryer and that made it much easier to pack for the trip.

The condo was very quiet. If you like to meet others or play an outside game around the pool with other guests you might try one of the other properties. Getting in and out was easy and there was plenty of room to park.

FMB had easy access to stores (Publix and CVS were a mile away) and plenty of good places to eat (Doc Fords - two lunches and Fresh Catch Bistro were the best we tried). We made the drive to Sanibel / Captiva Islands for a look - see and decided they were a bit too quiet. We did make a visit to the Edison House and would suggest adding it to any itinerary.

This would be our first choice for another stay.
