About the property

Serenity awaits you at the Luxury Log Cabin located just 12.25 miles from the heart of Athens. This cabin was built 16 years ago and is located on a private 20 acre watershed lake.

No matter what brings you here you will enjoy the solitude of being the only home on the lake. Many visitors come just to get away from the daily grind but most come here to be close to UGA activities! You can watch the game from the comfort of the cabin or be in the middle of Sanford Stadium in minutes.

Wifi is included and there is cell signal on the property. No pets and no smokers are allowed so we can keep the cabin fresh and clean.

While you are here you may enjoy fishing in the lake where there is an abundance of Brim, Crappy, Bass, and Catfish. You can sleep late and awaken to the beauty of the lake through the master bedroom window then go out to cruise the lake on kayaks or the jon boat. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking utensils for any occasion. You can relax on the wraparound porch and enjoy meals indoors or out.

Theaters, shopping, you name it and it's there. The Commerce Outlet Malls are only 10 minutes from our home in case you have shopping on your mind!

After dinner, you can relax by the lake and enjoy s'mores by the campfire as you unwind from the day. Hmmm...sounds good!

About Jamie Ramsey

I grew up on the 60 acre farm that surrounds this beautiful cabin. I built the cabin and lived there during college at UGA. After college it became a family getaway until I decided to share it with others through vacation rental.

Jamie Ramsey purchased this cabin in 1996

Why Jamie Ramsey chose North Georgia Mountains

We are the third generation of my family to own this property. The home is located on a private watershed lake that was built in the 1960's.

What makes this cabin unique

There is no place like this where you can be so secluded and yet so close to town.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I just wanted to let you know how much we are enjoying the cabin. My oldest son has Asperger's and is very sensitive to smells, bugs, and what ever else he perceives as not being clean. He said he could live here! That is a huge compliment!!! Said it was best place he's ever been. The other three kids having a great time too!

Beautiful Cabin and Setting

  • 5 of 5

We loved the cabin and the property. Beautiful woods and location on the lake. Very ptivate. We'll kept and maintained.

Wish I would have discovered it at the start of my daughter's college career rather than graduation.

Amazing

  • 5 of 5

My wife and our 4 children came for Independence Day weekend. We had the most amazing experience. We were late arriving and Nancy called to make sure that we were able to find the cabin. We had a quick visit by Nancy and she filled us in on all of the activities going on nearby. She is a wealth of information and super helpful! We had the chance to experience all that the cabin had to offer. We did plenty of kayaking, fishing, and swimming. We found the kitchen very well stocked with everything we needed (except for the groceries themselves). We got plenty of use out of the charcoal grill and the fire pit. The kids had a blast on the swing set, and we had plenty of relaxation time on the large wrap-around porch. Many books were read, card/board games played, and tons of memories were made. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect experience. We had plenty of rain which made the heat of mid-day quite muggy, but that turned into a perfect time for a nap inside. The best times were in the evenings. Listening to the bullfrogs while relaxing in the zero-gravity chairs with a good book was exactly what the doctor ordered! We can't wait to come back to visit.

Wonderful place to energize

  • 4 of 5

I rented this place for my high school robotics team for the Super Regional competition in Athens. We had a tough meet with unfortunate events out of our control, and this place provided an excellent place to regroup and encourage the team to move on. They got to refresh each night with songs of frogs and woke up with songs of birds. The hostess was extremely friendly and made sure we were comfortable. Hopefully, we can return next year as the Athen will host for two more years.

Comfortable, quiet getaway

  • 5 of 5

I'd stay here even if not going to Athens and the drive to/from downtown is relatively easy through some great farm land. Quiet, comfortable, well-appointed property. Hope to spend time there again.

Fantastic cabin!

  • 5 of 5

This was a fantastic choice for a weekend family trip with three adults and two children. The cabin is very private, yet very close to Athens, Ga. with all it has to offer. The owner and her mother made the trip very easy and were a pleasure to deal with. The cabin is beautifully furnished with everything you need and I can't wait to return! Anyone who is looking for a really nice private cabin close to Athens should definitely consider this property.

Can't wait to return!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, toddler and our parents stayed here for the weekend. We had a wonderful time, despite the rain. My brother joined us later and we had plenty of space for all 8 of us. Nancy, the owner, and Jamie are so nice and helpful. The cabin had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Once the rain let up, we were table to take the boats out and do a little fishing. The water seems pretty deep and we caught a bass, a speckled perch and a big ol' brim, even though conditions weren't the best for fishing. I think we're going to throw them on the grill tonight. Thank you to Nancy and Jamie and we hope to book again soon.

Owner's Response: I'm so happy that you took the time to enjoy the lake! It is the perfect place for families! I brought new baby gates this weekend since I too have a 1 year old! When he's older he can enjoy the swing set and fishing with you! We look forward to your return!
