Guestbook comments from the owner

The house was incredible. The views out the back were amazing, and the inside of the house was very nice and not at all dated. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were extremely clean. The kitchen and bathrooms all seemed newly renovated.

There was plenty of room for the 5 of us (all adult men), and the area was just what we were looking for. It was close enough to town so we could eat at the restaurant for breakfast and then drive only 15-20 minutes or so to Lake Umbagog for our fishing. We even saw a moose on our drive one morning, which for city folks was really cool.

Sometimes I hesitate to write reviews b/c I prefer hidden gems to stay hidden, but that wouldn't be fair, b/c this place was great. We take a fishing trip every year, and all 5 of us thought it was the best place we've stayed to date. We will likely be back every year.

Loved It!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I desperately needed a last minute getaway and this was just the place! It was extremely well kept and tidy. We also enjoyed how cute and quaint the set up was. Our favorite part about this lake house was of course the lake (well, pond but large enough to feel like a lake)! It was so quiet and peaceful to be on the water. We also enjoyed fireside sunsets in the evening. The only part that we disliked was the for sale sign, mostly because we are sad that we won’t have the opportunity to enjoy this place again in the future. All in all, a great stay!

Beautiful Place!

  • 5 of 5

I enjoyed a much needed birthday weekend away at Dan's house this past weekend. The house was great! It was stocked with everything that we needed to cook and it was very comfortable for the 4 of us. Dan was very helpful and quick to respond to answer any questions we had and he also let us check in a little bit early. I would highly recommend this home and we would love to come back and enjoy it again!

Thank you for having us as your guests :)

Alison

Beautiful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We were in town for a wedding and needed an affordable place to stay where we could bring our dogs. This was the perfect place! Cozy and comfortable. Great location on a beautiful pond and a great view. Very relaxing. Our dogs love the water so it was perfect for them as well. I would stay here again. Very clean home and I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Great place, we loved it!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here recently and had a wonderful time. The property was very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed hiking, canoeing, and had some nice drives. It was definitely home away from home. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a low key relaxing vacation.

Sincerely,

Phil & Jen M.

Love this place

  • 5 of 5

This is our 3rd year of renting this beautiful cottage on Akers Pond for our annual snowmobile trip with family and good friends. We could gear up and head right out onto the trails from the walk out finished basement. Great layout in the cottage - very roomy. Nicely done. The owner replied to our emails quickly and with all the information we needed. Will definitely make this our annual place to stay for our snowmobiling trip to Errol. Trails are awesome.

The BEST Vacation

  • 5 of 5

This place was absolutely perfect. The inside of this house is even more beautiful in person and the view is great, especially with the foliage. The house is spotless. The owner replied to my emails quickly with all of the information that we needed.

We brought our dog and our ATV's .. we weren't able to ride right from the property but there is a parking lot 5 minutes down the road that you could park at. There is a gas station/convenience store 5 minutes away in the opposite direction along with a store with all of the outdoor clothing you would need if you forget to bring something. You can register your ATV there $40/each for a out of state 10 day pass. It was great to be able to ride and not have to worry about getting caught!

We also drove down to Jericho which was about 45 minutes away and parked at Jericho Motorsports and there were even better trails leaving from there. They rent ATV's as well. We're hoping they rent snow mobiles so we can come back in the winter!
