My husband John and I both enjoyed busy careers for over thirty years in New York City.. John, good with all things mechanical worked both with his hands and in management in the electrical industry. I have always enjoyed understanding people ,art and nature. The Human Resources profession was my passion working with people and extraordinary companies in Fashion, Fine Jewelry, and Art. Together we enjoy making people happy..so here we are, hoping to meet interesting people and doing everything we can to help our guests enjoy their time in our home.
Maritza Budet and John Winkler purchased this apartment in 2004
John and I chose Greenport Village because of my love of antiques and wonderful 'unspoiled' older homes, while enjoying an innocent and simple quality of life in the Village. John's love of all things in or near the water.. boating, fishing, swimming... fresh seafood....The Long Island Sound and Peconic Bay made it a simple choice with countless activities to enjoy.

We spent a lovely weekend at this home. Loved the nearby restaurants, the quick walk to the beach, and of course the property itself. It was a beautifully restored place, very roomy,, and the pictures don't do it justice. The location is peaceful and charming. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and would definitely return.
This is a super cute apartment very close to town. Hosts were welcoming. Just a couple of doors down from a little playground and beach, which was great for kids. It was the perfect place for us to stay for a weekend.
My adult daughter and I spent three wonderful days in Greenport. John and Maritza's home is lovely, both inside and out, and the location could not be better. John and Maritza live on the ground floor of the house and were available to answer any questions, but they are completely unobtrusive, and like the best of hosts, seem to gauge their level of involvement to their guests' preferences.
We had the whole upstairs, which as other reviewers have mentioned, is a u-shape that includes two bedrooms, two living rooms, the kitchen with sit-in dining, and the bathroom. Everything is impeccably furnished, and every need has been preconceived and met. The wood plank floors are gorgeous, as are the architectural molding details in every room. The decor blends rustic antique beauty with clean, modern comfort.
Some older houses can show their age through wear and tear, years of grime built up in corners. I am a neat freak, and one of the things I appreciate most is cleanliness. This house was SPOTLESS--no cobwebs in the corners, no dust on the windowsills. The paint looked fresh with no random scuffs. The linens were luxuriously soft and inviting.
Located just a stroll away from downtown Greenport, we enjoyed several great meals and browsed the little shops. We took the North Ferry (just a few blocks away) to Shelter Island, as well as the South Ferry into Sag Harbor. We also went to Lavender By The Bay and Kontokosta Winery. It was our first time to Long Island, but I hope it won't be our last. Thank you so much, John and Maritza!
We have a spent a week here for the last several summer,s not only because Greenport is charming, calming and fun, but because Maritza and John's apartment is our favorite place to be there. The apartment is lovely, comfortable, clean and spacious and they do a great job of keeping it well stocked with necessities. The location is great - down the street from the playground and the beach - and a short walk into town and we love to take advantage of the pretty backyard - especially for breakfast. It's such a great getaway that my 6 year old son used to tell people we have a house in greenport, b/c it feels like going home every time we're there.
My husband and I along with another couple had such a great time at Maritza and John's place in Greenport. It's just a few minutes from the water where there's a dock and playground with picnic tables. The apartment occupies the second (top floor) of a two family house, and the layout is perfect for sharing with two couples. It's a U shape with a kitchen in the middle, living room on either side, and a bedroom attached to each living room. The location is in walking distance to everything in town and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to friends.
What a charming accommodation, in a lovely area, with kind and caring owners. My family and I had a wonderful trip to the North Fork; there is so much to see and do! And our children enjoyed it just as much as we did. Beautiful beaches, award winning food and restaurants, and wineries galore. And the carousel in Greenport was a hit with the kids! The accommodation was just what we needed: location is a 10 minute walk to Greenport village with a beach (including playground and volleyball) just a short walk at the end of the street. The accommodation was extremely clean, well maintained, and it had everything we needed (washer, dryer, dishwasher, central air, towels, linens to name a few). John and Maritza made sure that we had everything that we needed, gave us some good local knowledge, and John even went out of his way to purchase us a town beach pass which I highly recommend. Five stars!
Greenport Village is a historic harbor front village with lovely restored homes, antique shops, art galleries, book shops, waterfront dining, antique carousel and more. The North Fork is also know as wine country with over thirty vineyards. Fresh farm stands are within a few miles to enjoy local fresh produce. Harvest season is also very popular for pumpkin picking and local events.
