Hi. My name is Adam Shaffer. Welcome to the Bali Beach Paradise! I spent two years creating this home. It is my masterpiece! My inspiration was Bali. I fell in love with the architecture and beauty of the place from looking in books of wonderful home and villas. After designing the home, I decided to go to Bali and hand pick all the furniture, decorative pieces, art, statues, and a lot of the stone. The result was spectacular! Although I designed it for myself, I decided a while ago to rent it as a vacation home for others to enjoy. I have received letters, gifts, and heartfelt thanks for the wonderful moments that they have had. I look forward to meeting you and hope you too get to experience this truly magical place!
Adam Shaffer purchased this townhome in 2007
I decided to purchase this home because of the location. The area is fantastic! It has one of the nicest beaches in Southern California and is in an exclusive neighborhood called 'The Marina Peninsula'. It is steps to the sand and minutes to Venice, Santa Monica, and the airport.
What's great about this home is that you feel like you're at a tropical paradise in some other country! The walls open up on two floors creating an indoor/outdoor experience. The fourth level has a huge patio, which boasts a king-size cabana and overlooks the Venice canal, Playa Del Rey, and the ocean. Although you may never feel like leaving this place, you should go for a bike ride along the beach, walk to the many cafes and restaurants down the way, and go for a swim or surf in the ocean! There are two piers on either side of the home. One is the Marina pier, which stretches into the ocean and enables you to watch the boats sail by. The other is the Venice Pier, where the surfurs like to go and is fun to walk out to. As many have said, there is no better place they have been! Come and see for yourself!
Gorgeous beach home tucked in a zen garden. Loved biking daily to Santa Monica pier and back for sunset. The rooftop cabana will inspire me forever. You can stretch your toes in the tub it is so long! Just book it- it will be an incredible experience. The design and Balinese furnishings elevate the experience to extraordinary.
We spent a beautiful February in Adam's lovely home, enjoying walks on the beach instead of shoveling snow back home. Visually unique, with great common space inside and out. The roof deck patio is out of the ordinary, functional and provides a sheltered outdoor space with views. The location is in convenient walking distance to the marina and Venice pier restaurants, and a short drive to all Santa Monica has to offer. A great base for day trips, or doing nothing. No real problems with the property, but Adam was extremely responsive to a few minor issues and questions. Can't say enough good things about this property.
We just spent The month of August at Adams extraordinary home! It was everything we expected and more. He really went to great lengths in decorating it in true Balinese style! The attention to detail in the decor was amazing... Truly stunning!! It was so peaceful and relaxing, we absolutely loved the rooftop patio and Bali bed where we relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful views of the canal. The home was close proximity to the beautiful white sand beach, which was never crowded, it was like your own private beach! We really enjoyed the evenings watching the sunset from the shoreline with a glass of wine. We also loved walking to Washington Boulevard where there are an assortment of great restaurants. Pretty much anything you would want; Greek, Mexican, Thai, sushi, Italian, A Starbucks even a Cold stone creamery! its really an ideal location in every way. I would highly recommend Adam's exotic Balinese escape on the beautiful Marina Peninsula!
Its rare a place actually matches it description, rarer still it exceeds it but this property did just that. We stayed as a family with 2 young kids and the (literal) 60 second walk to one of the most tranquil parts of Marina del Rey's beach proved priceless. Further, it's situated close enough to Washington St and Venice that we were close enough to enjoy all the amenities these areas had to offer.
The property itself is pretty stunning. Our favorite beyond breakfasts on the balcony were the roof where a 4 poster Cabana and gas fired BBQ with views of the ocean meant many an evening was spent grilling anything that used to move and sipping down cocktails as the sun set. The master bedroom overlooks the main living room and the Balinese theme has been elegantly cascaded across the original pieces and furniture on every level.
Lastly to the owner, who was tireless in his meeting our (multiple) requests. Instead of lip service, he showed genuine concern in making our stay as good as it could be. He more than succeeded.
We'll be back.
This really is all that and more than the description . Not only is it the most unique vacation property available at these rates, it's proximity to an incredible section of the beach cannot be beat. It is the perfect distant from, and close to Venice beach and the local restaurants and bar scene at Washington and Pacific is a short walk away. Highly , highly recommended.
My wife and I have lived in this fantastic property the last 4 months while exploring the West LA area for a permanent home. It has been even a better rental than we had imagined. The pictures look great, but don't really convey the relaxing "feel" that has been created in this space. The owner, Adam, has been ideal to work with and the neighbors have been very welcoming. We have 2 large dogs, and they love it. The 2 open balconies, not to mention the roof deck, are their favorite places. Dogs must remain on leashes in this area, but adequate "green space" is very close. We fell in love with this part of Marina Del Rey, and have now chosen to make our permanent home very close by. From now on, when we walk the dogs by this building, we'll have memories of a great 4 months.
