More than 300 families have enjoyed our Moonridge Mountain Retreat throughout the years. Whether it's a special occasion like an engagement, honeymoon, birthday or holiday you're celebrating, you'll always remember your stay in the quiet romantic surroundings of our personal home. Ideally situated in Upper Moonridge, you'll enjoy the four seasons and all that Big Bear Lake has to offer. There's plenty of snow in the Winter as you watch the skiers racing down Geronimo in the distance at Bear Mountain from our upper deck. The Oak Trees, among the Pines, surrounding the property turn a vibrant yellow, orange and red in late October throughout November. Both full bathrooms are modern with custom tile, and Shower Tower in the Master Bath. Cooking couldn't be easier in the recently remodeled kitchen with almost every conceivable gadget and full compliment of spices. Entertainment buffs will appreciate the High Definition Television, Movie Collection, Surround Sound, & WiFi.

From Our Guest Book: Testimonials from Guests: As always, had an awesome time. Love the upgrades. Best time of the week, and highly recommend it, two hour boat ride around Big Bear Lake. Plenty of hiking trails.

This is the third or fourth time we have enjoyed your home and even though you are not here, we still feel your hospitality. The improvements you have made are great. We're looking forward to a fifth visit.

Jim & Julie**********************************

This is our first time in your home. This house has been really nice and clean. You are really great for letting us stay. Your decorations are very nice and pleasant. We have taken care of your house as if it was ours.

Xavier

We had a wonderful time at your cabin. Our two kids, Noah ( Age 8) and Graci (Age 6) learned how to snowboard and ski. Your cabin was a great home away from home. We will definitely be back for a visit!

Dennis & Teresa

Thank you very much for sharing your cabin... It's Great!

About James Spencer

We purchased our Moonridge Mountain home in Big Bear Lake while living in Southern California--we thought, what a wonderful way to get away from the smog and traffic of Los Angeles and it was only a couple of hours away!

That was 29 years ago and we've never looked back. During the first few years of ownership we spent almost every weekend and most holidays 'at the cabin.' You'll see the many personal photos throughout our home during the different seasons.

In 1991 we had a wonderful business opportunity which would take us to Arizona. That's when we decided to sell the cabin and look for something closer to our new home in Arizona. Well, we quickly found out that what we had in Big Bear Lake couldn't be duplicated to our satisfaction in Arizona--so we pulled up the for sale sign and decided to keep our mountain retreat and rent our home to those we knew and through our own promotional efforts and word of mouth when we were not staying there.

Since the early 1990's more than 300 familes have rented our home for weekend getaways and in many cases for an entire month to escape the desert heat or to enjoy the excellent skiing in the winter.

We hope you enjoy your stay and return often--whether it is for a couple of days, a week, a month, a special occasion or a holiday.

James Spencer purchased this cabin in 1988

Why James Spencer chose Big Bear Lake

Moonridge, as you will quickly find out, is one of the premier locations in Big Bear Lake. At 7,039' above sea level we enjoy crisp cool nights and warm afternoons throughout the spring, summer and fall. During the winter we get plenty of snow and are about 10-12 minutes from the ski resorts of Bear Mountain and Snow Summit. The Village and the Lake and a multitude of restaurants and shops are about 15 minutes away--two major grocery stores (Von's & Stater Brothers) are 10 minutes from the cabin.

What makes this cabin unique

As our Moonridge Mountain Retreat is our second home we've made it as comfortable as possible for our own visits. A completely remodeled kitchen is a delight when preparing meals. The 68-jet spa is most relaxing after a day of hiking, skiing, biking or boating. And, no home would be complete without the convenience of 4 HDTVs, WiFi, a 1920s Upright Piano and a roaring fire in the wood burning fireplace.

Awesome mountain cabin at Big Bear!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed this weekend and had a great time with my wife and two young boys, the place would very comfortably fit the 6 guests it allows. We found this to have all the accessories that one needs to enjoy in the kitchen, living room and bedroom. We enjoyed an evening of snowfall BBQ'ing and using the great hot tub, 2 inches of snow accumulated on the deck but we were warm inside by the fire. We will be back, hopefully this season before the snow melts...

Great time here

  • 5 of 5

The location was very close to Bear Mountain. Was at the edge of the neighborhood so was very quiet. I really enjoyed it here. Would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a nice quiet yet not to far from civilization cabin for your holiday.

The Perfect Place

  • 5 of 5

My family and I decided to do a weekend getaway in Big Bear and rented this place. It had everything you needed and more. The caretaker, Bruce was awesome and very helpful. This place is very well kept and you will feel right at home. We definitely play to rent this place again as we have decided to make this an annual trip. this is the place we want to stay when we come back. It's close to everything and just a great place to stay. I would definitely recommend this place.

Outstanding Visit!

  • 5 of 5

In my opinion, the pictures didn't do this home justice. The cabin is much bigger than it appeared to me in the pictures and accommodating with whatever you are looking to do. We tried to do it all: spent time on the deck, had fires in the fireplace, watched the state of the art TV's/entertainment equipment, swam in the spa, and saw LOTS of snow. We had a family of 6 staying at the cabin and there was enough room for us to spread out without feeling cramped and on top of each other. Bruce (the caretaker) was great for firewood and conversation, and nearby if you need anything. All in all, I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking to stay up in Big Bear.

PERFECTION!!!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you so much for the use of your amazing big bear home!!! We loved everything about it...from the technology to all of the amenities to the view to the jacuzzi (which was amazing!) even the proximity to everything. It was so warm, comfortable & inviting...we (2 mom's and 2 7 yr old girls) felt like we were home and the kids are already asking when we can go back. We can't wait to book our next trip for the winter!!!

Thank you for everything!!!

Best,

Stacey Levin
