Are you an animal lover who would love to vacation at a place where there is peace and quiet as well as all kinds of animals, both domestic and wildlife, to watch? Do you stress when planning a vacation because you can’t bring your dog(s) along? Would you love to bring your horse(s) and ride some new trails? Would you like to have unlimited long distance calling available rather than trying to use your cell phone in our mountainous area? Then Cabin at Autumn Dancer Llama Farm is the place for you. The cabin is situated on 17 acres of beautifully rolling hills directly below Meadow Creek Mountain. For your canine family members (we allow up to 5 dogs..size doesn't matter), we offer 1/2 -acre of fenced backyard so that they may run and frolic as well as a fenced deck. We've replaced the backyard fence and have added pictures showing the cabin with the new fence.

Our cabin has three bedrooms and two full baths. The Master bedroom has a king sized bed, and its own bathroom. The other two bedrooms each have a queen-sized bed.

The kitchen is fully stocked with pots and pans, a crock pot, electric roaster pan, coffee pot, toaster oven, four-slice toaster, and many other items for folks who want to do their own cooking. There is seating for 6 at the kitchen table.

The living room has a flat screen TV with both a DVD and VCR player available for your convenience.

The back porch is where everyone likes to sit and enjoy the view. There is a large hot tub on the deck with two separate sitting areas. We have a professional gas grill that is hooked up to our large propane tank so you will never have to worry about bringing your own propane. There are also BBQ utensils so you don't have to bring your own. The backyard and upper deck are fully fenced for the safe containment of your pets and younger children.

Our Farm:

We have a working farm in the foothills of the Cherokee National Forest. Our farm is 100+ years old (it was originally a dairy farm back in 1900) and has an extensive history. The cabin was originally the hired man's house (although it has been totally renovated) and the 100+ farmhouse across the street is where we live. A road divides the cabin and the farmhouse which allows everyone to have their privacy. We will welcome our guests when they first check in to make sure everything is okay at the cabin. We are out and about twice a day to feed the Llamas and horses; if our guests have questions about the Llamas/horses or need our assistance at the cabin then we are available. Otherwise, we try and stay invisible so our guests have their privacy.

Our six equines (including a miniature mule and two miniature donkeys) will often come up to the back fence to welcome the “newcomers.” It’s amazing how many dogs have never been “up close and personal” with a horse! It will be like a dude ranch for you and your dogs!

Near sundown, our guests find it very entertaining to watch the donkeys at play. They will run and chase each other while kicking their hooves in the air. Most of our equines are rescued animals, so it’s especially heartwarming to see them enjoying life.

About Ed or Ginny Miller

We are Ginny & Ed Miller. I'm a native Texan (with roots in Tennessee) while Ed is from Upstate New York. We lived in the Clear Lake City, Texas area for 21 years where we worked for NASA/Johnson Space Center. From Houston, we moved to Colorado Springs for a year and then Washington, DC for 17 years. Ed worked for the Department of Defense while I worked in the human resources field in several different industries.

Ed or Ginny Miller purchased this cabin in 2000

Why Ed or Ginny Miller chose Tennessee

Ed's brother moved to Parrottsville and was married here. The reception was held at a local resort within walking distance of our cabin. Family members stayed at the cabin prior to us purchasing it from the resort, less than 6 months later. We fell in love with the quiet beauty of this area. It took us almost 4 years before we were able to move to Parrottsville and enjoy this 'little piece of heaven' on a full-time basis.

What makes this cabin unique

The peace and quiet are something that can't be described. For people who live "life in the fast lane" the peacefulness of our farm can help our guests to become back "in balance." At night we don't have "light pollution" so the evening sky is beyond description. Many nights, we can see the Milky Way. Again, it's difficult to describe the beauty of walking outside and seeing a sky full of planets/stars with meteorites trailing across in the distance.

Very clean and well equipped

  • 5 of 5

This was one of the cleanest, most well equipped places we have ever rented from VRBO since using them for over 10 years. The fenced yard is very secure, with plenty of room for the dogs to play ball. It was wonderful to be able to bring all 3 of our Aussies, as most places will not allow multiple pets.

We spent our time hiking, geocaching (lots of places close by for both), and golfing (several courses to choose from within an hours drive). In the evenings it was swimming and relaxing in the hot tub.

Ed & Ginny are awesome. You will not find better hosts. Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven with us. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Beautiful and well-maintained cabin and grounds

  • 5 of 5

Our entire family had a wonderful time here. Everything you could possibly want for a relaxing, stress-free vacation is already here and waiting for you. Ginny and Ed were wonderful and very generous with their time. They introduced us to all of the animals on the farm and took time to tell us about all of them. We really enjoyed the large covered porch and the fenced yard was great for the kids. We highly recommend Autumn Dancer Llama Farm!

Everything we hoped for and so much more!

  • 5 of 5

From the second we arrived and were immediately greeted by llamas peeking at us from the barn, to the moment we left when the llamas were peeking still to say goodbye, we were in Heaven. From the rocking chairs and hot tub on the serine porch overlooking the horses and donkeys pasture, to the completely stocked and furnished clean cabin we immediately knew we had chosen the right place for our families most likely last vacation all together. Our children are both college graduates and are starting their own lives now, so this was one last family vacation. It was also the first we have taken our dogs on, and wow did they have fun. They loved the animals on the farm, the toys stocked for pups at the cabin, and the large fenced yard to play in. I think they enjoyed just laying on the porch watching the animals and looking at the distant mountains beauty as much as we did. We immediately noticed how quiet and peaceful it is. The surrounding area has so much to do. We saw bears in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park, visited attractions in Gatlinburg, and relaxed. My wife and youngest daughter even hiked from the cabin to the Meadow Creek Mountain Fire Tower, which they said was tough, but the views were well worth it. The cabin itself was far beyond our expectations. It is spotless, the beds are comfortable, and the attention to detail covers more than I have ever seen. I could not believe how much they provide and all the little things they have stocked at the cabin. You will have everything you could possibly need and so much more. Ed and Ginny are kind, friendly, and available for anything, but give you your privacy to enjoy your vacation. There is so much more I am sure I am forgetting, but I would recommend Autumn Dancer Llama Farm to everyone. I am certain we will return in the future.

The perfect place to stay and relax!

  • 5 of 5

As always, our stay at Autumn Dancer Llama Farm was great. I think we have stayed there a dozen times in the last 6 years. Our hosts Ginny and Ed are wonderful and make sure your are enjoying your stay. Being able to bring our Furkids with us is special. Could not stay as long as we would want to this time. Will have to try and plan a much longer visit. If you need to really relax, but still be close to major tourist destinations for a day trip, here is where you need to stay!

The cabin is really set up nicely to meet your needs. Just about everything you will need is available.

2nd Time at cabin , 5 stars!

  • 5 of 5

It was our 2nd trip to the farm and we loved it just as much as our 1st stay. Our dogs enjoyed their stay as well. They were happy to be back too. I would like to stress that Ginny and Ed take great pride in their rental cabin. It is always clean and never a pet smell. They stock this cabin with supplies that you would never get at another cabin. We have stayed at other dog friendly cabins and never have they been stocked and as clean. We always had to bring toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, laundry detergent to other cabins but here they take great care of you. They take pride in their rental and that is obvious. It is a great cabin to relax at. Very peaceful. We will be back. Thank you Ginny and Ed.

Did it for the dogs, but we loved it too!

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a pet-friendly vacation spot that our two dogs (a 75-pound rough collie and a 45 pound mix) could run and bark, while secured in a fenced area, and not worry about bothering the neighbors. This was the ticket! The fenced yard and the fenced porch - GREAT! The best part, we had just as much fun as those two crazy dogs (although we did not bark and run.)

Having our dogs able to run and bark and not have to be "shushing" them all the time was a wonderful week for all. As a matter of fact, on the day of our arrival, Ginny said, "Don't worry if your dogs bark, this is rural." Wow! That was so great to hear. So we heeded her advice and just let the days roll by without worry. However, the only thing our dogs wanted to bark at was the occasional car that went by down the side road - not often.

If you have read any of the other comments, you already know the cabin is clean and well-equipped. Every cooking device, utensil, pot, pan, ovenware, dish, glass that you could want is there to use. My kitchen seems sparse in comparison! The washer and dryer is a nice feature - don't have to pack as much because clean clothes are just a wash and dry away. As I have done in the past for other vacation homes, I brought the paper towels, TP, dish soap, garbage bags, etc, but this is absolutely unnecessary as Ginny says "Just bring your clothes and food, everything else is provided." Another thing that I loved - - a lot of vacation homes have that "owner's locked closet" which houses all the extra towels, bedding, paper products, laundry soap, etc., but that is not the case at Ginny and Ed's cabin, they leave all of these extras available for use during the vacation stay.

The animals - so fun! Llamas, horses, mule, donkeys, wild turkeys, the neighbor's free-range chickens, deer, and many different birds to watch. We so enjoyed watching the barn animals and the wild life. My husband was thrilled to see his first blue-bird and he said he saw the reddest cardinal he has ever seen in his life. We also saw some tit-mice which are so cute.

This was by far the most relaxing vacation we have ever had. As the title says, we went for dogs, but we enjoyed it just as much. We read books, soaked in the hot-tub, enjoyed the scenery from the great wrap-around porch, walked the dogs, played Scrabble (John is the champ), slept in and just had a great time.

If you are looking or relaxation, Autumn Dancer Llama Farm is the place!
