About Michele Fitzgerald

I started visiting Sedona over 30 years ago for spiritual activities, my love of nature (great hiking opportunities), and to explore nearby archaeological sites. My heart was captured on my first visit and I decided then that I would eventually move to the area--which I did in 1992. At the time of my move I owned a sales training company in the San Francisco Bay Area and I commuted to work from Sedona for over 10 years. Eventually I made a transition to the work I do today, which is helping people learn how to make practical use of their intuitive skills.

I love Sedona and plan to live here for the rest of my life. I know a lot about the area and am happy to help with suggestions on things to do before or once you get here, whether your interests relate to the spiritual/metaphysical aspects of Sedona, holistic healing services, the art community, hiking/nature, best restaurants (I'm a life-long foodie), and more.

Michele Fitzgerald purchased this cottage in 1992

Why Michele Fitzgerald chose Arizona

I bought the property because of the trees. It's like a little oasis in the desert.

What makes this cottage unique

The unique benefits of this property are its gardens and very green surroundings, along with the tone of peace that permeates the home and land as a by-product of Feng Shui treatments and other subtle energy work that has been completed over the years by the owner, who is a professional geomancer. Because of all the trees and flowering plants (Spring, Summer & Fall), many birds and butterflies visit the property, including orioles, cardinals, hawks and owls. Another unique feature that guests love is the fully furnished patio. This sizable outdoor space (400 sq. feet) hosts a wood burning fireplace and is an ideal place to experience the birds, the stars, romantic dinners, quiet meditation, or a glass of local wine and a good book. Finally, the location is perfect. The property is nicely tucked away from the tourist hustle and bustle, yet it is still within easy reach of everything Sedona has to offer. Walk to natural food stores, coffee shops, movie theatres, thrift shops, art galleries, and boutique shops. Hop into your car and with just a 2-3 minute drive you have access to scores of additional restaurants, the main tourist hub, more art galleries, local parks, the Sedona community pool, day spas, and more.

Lovely, quiet, near to sites

  • 5 of 5

Michelle is extremely accommodating. Lists of local restaurants with personal comments, hiking guides and Red Rock Pass, stocked with condiments, laundry soap and dish soap. No need for us to purchase. Even local grocery store discount tabs on the house key ring. Lots of indoor and outdoor space. Would go again after she installs wifi. Thanks for a great visit.

Owner's Response: Hi Judy, So glad that you and Mark enjoyed your stay at the cottage and had a great time in Sedona on this trip. You'll be happy to know that I've installed the cutting-edge, Eco WiFi system we talked about, which allows all the flexibility of a regular WiFi system, but cuts the high-frequency radiation level significantly -- a much healthier situation, for sure. I'm excited for you to see and experience this new system on your next visit. Hope to see you again soon! Michele

Pleasant but a little disappointing

  • 3 of 5

The garden was spacious and enjoyable. Plenty of birds visited while we were there. Their fluttering in and around the trees was delightful.

We found the house itself quite adequate -, clean, comfortable and quite spacious.

We were disappointed, however, with the noise disturbances from the neighborhood's dogs barking. Our peace and quiet was certainly at the mercy of the dogs.

Owner's Response: Dear Stephen,, Sorry the neighborhood dog noise was bothersome to you and Brigitte. As discussed on your departure day, I spend quite a bit a time at the property doing gardening and other tasks, and while I have heard dogs barking in the neighborhood, I've never heard barking at a level that I would classify as beyond the normal neighborhood barking that one would experience in most any Sedona neighborhood these days. The property is also rented frequently, and I have never had a complaint about dog barking before. Because you asked about dog barking prior to booking your stay, I made a special trip to the property following your initial inquiry, spent several hours there to double-check the dog-barking noise level, and felt satisfied that you would be satisfied. But apparently not. As I mentioned when we were saying our goodbyes, the best bet for finding a spot in Sedona these days with zero dog barking, would probably be to stay at one of the timeshare resorts. Best wishes for a quieter stay, wherever you stay, on your next Sedona visit. Michele Fitzgerald

Cozy retreat with beautiful yard

  • 4 of 5

The Owner met us shortly after our arrival and explained the details about the home. She is very helpful, accomodating and responsive if needed. The location is quiet, several blocks south of 89A and the yard is full of trees, shade and beautiful plantings - every color of rose included. The outdoor area is very private and peaceful. The home was clean, was as pictured and includes many conveniences from kitchen items to sunscreen, movies on DVD, laundry soap, etc. I loved all the windows in the family room/kitchen which brought view of the beautiful yard closer including the sounds of active birds. The home is a little dated but in good, clean condition and all is in good repair. This home is very comfortable and quiet with a comfy bed. The location is excellent, just south of 89A, close to an expanded Whole Foods store and other grocers, restaurants, trail heads, etc. I would definitely consider this rental again in the future.

A truly relaxing home

  • 5 of 5

My wife Sandy and I just left Michele's property, Willow Cottage. We wanted to extend our stay a further 4 days, but unfortunately for us, the following dates were not available. What a shame. This property is in a very quiet neighbourhood. The yard is an oasis in this desert climate. An oasis of serenity. The cottage itself is very comfortable, with all of the amenities of home. If you are coming to Sedona we would highly recommend that you stay here.

Michele is a wonderful person, with a lot of local knowledge, and pointed us to one of our favourite hikes here so far, on the Bell Weir Trail. So very happy to have met you Michele.

The Best Vacation Ever!

  • 5 of 5

The minute we stepped out of the car we were greeted by the most wonderful smell of the Confederate Jasmine vine growing on the picket fence. The outside of the home is like a fairytale cottage. The ambiance of the house is amazing with lots of windows and natural light filling the living area. We were very comfortable and loved coming “home” every evening to the cottage and the gardens with the beautiful patio complete with fireplace. There is truly something special about this home. Michele was very knowledgeable about Sedona and the surrounding area and was very helpful in planning our itinerary. Thanks Michele for sharing you cottage and helping to make our Arizona vacation wonderful!
