Why My Place is So Special
From on a 30 foot hill, enjoy the best New England offers: swimming in the Atlantic Ocean plus acres of nature that would captivate Thoreau himself. The Beach Farm 1785 is a jewel in a 150 year old family enclave, founded by the owner’s great-grandfather. Your ONLY neighbor is Rachel Carson.
For many, the most memorable delight of your visit is experiencing its private, white-sandy beaches. It takes ten minutes of normal walking on private dirt roads, some covered with huge pines. On part of the two mile-long white sandy beach, called Parsons Beach, the waves are beautiful and really inviting. Use our fun tricycle with attached wagon to carry chairs to Parsons Beach. This beach is for swimming. Fishermen have numerous sites to catch bass. ( We provide 10 rods.) Both beaches may be used for fishing, but private Crescent Surf Beach is only for fishing, and/ or boating. It is a fisherman’s delight. Sit by the water and cast into the crystal blue surf. Take out your light-weight kayak or canoe and explore.
For family togetherness, the heated pool is easy and available when you are not on the beach. The warm inground swimming pool will awaken you in the morning and relax you in the evening. Always beckoning, you will be enjoying many fun-filled swims. The water pump works 24/7 to maintain cleanliness. There are many lounging chairs and tables.
There are 3 bedrooms in one side of your two-sided house: the downstairs master bedroom with ensúitte bath and two bedrooms upstairs with one full bath in the hallway. The furniture is mostly new, attractive and comfortable for all ages. Enjoy the original artworks, many of museum quality. The big open living area, with comfortable seating for nine people, has large windows with great views of rolling fields, marsh, some ocean, great sunrises and reflected sunsets. Bring your favorite sheet music to play on the Spinnet piano. Decks are everywhere, including a screened-in one for evening use.
Through a breezeway, four friends or additional family have two bedrooms. The upstairs Ocean Room with sitting area has a gorgeous view of the ocean. The large, downstairs Hummingbird Room, with sitting area and T.V., features mesmerizing views of hummingbirds, fields and forest. The Pool House features a colorful sun room with nine windows where you feel you are outdoors. It has toys and building blocks for small children and comfortable seating for adults. From it, occupants of the Pool House have their own door to the heated pool area. Or go the Game Room to play ping pong and dozens of table games.
All bedrooms have air conditioning and /or very good fans. Four have queen sized beds and one twins.
An alarm system is available for the main house.
In addition to swimming, other outdoor activities abound: walks on the many trails; bird-watch; shoot nature photographs; kayak from the nearby dock on the Mousam River or from the beach; fish for stripped bass at several locations; cycle private roads and star gaze into dark skies.
