About Karen Harris
Owner is a Georgia native and fell in love with the beauty of the North Georgia mountains.
Karen Harris purchased this Cabin in 2001
Why Karen Harris chose Hiawassee
Georgia has many beautiful areas but the North Georgia mountains as a beauty of all its own. Our home has a multi peak mountain view of 30 plus mountains, a panoramic view with lake too. My husband's favorite time is grilling while watching the sunset. This home is just 2 hours outside Atlanta, Georgia and is a quick get away anytime you need to get away from the hustle of the city or suburb. The town is small enough to give you a calm feeling of being somewhere so different, but large enough to have two grocery stores and many restaurants if you don't feel like cooking. The people are friendly and make you feel welcome. Antique shopping, water sports or just relaxing on one of the many swings at Town County Beach and park is a true experience.
What makes this Cabin unique
Being secluded and enjoying natures beauty along with one of the best views of Brasstown Bald, the tallest point in Georgia with the lake and sunset is truly an experience. Relax in a mountain decor home with rockers and and wake up in one of our log beds. Enjoy cable TV, wireless internet and all the features of home or just turn everything off and feel like you are miles away from everything and enjoy the birds feeding at one of our feeders. Just 2 miles from the middle of Hiawassee, 25 minutes to Helen Ga. and close to Murphy NC. All seasons have something to offer like hiking, boating, shopping are just a few minutes away. Create memories your family will truly cherish.

Great Experiece! View was fabulous! Cabin had ALL necessities! Would love to go back someday!
The propertywas very nice with a wonderful view
The setting and the view were wonderful. The home was very comfortable with everything available to make your stay very comfortable and relaxing. The neighborhood is very quiet. There are plenty of bird that appear as you are enjoying the back deck. The drive to the cabin from the main road is not long. The road does get narrow and steep. It is in good shape with options to pull over if there is oncoming traffic, which is minimal if at all. Follow Karen's driving directions exactly and you will not have any issues locating it. Do not rely on your GPS system. I did have mine on just to see if it was accurate. As soon as it told me to do something different from Karen's, I cancelled navigation.
Both Karen and Vince were very accommodating and more than willing to assist in any manner.
We had wonderful weather and it was very relaxing just sitting on the back deck enjoying the view and the birds.
Beautiful, family-friendly cabin
We stayed here for our “family moon” and were so happy to see how family friendly it was. It had everything we needed and more! It was nice to be able to play board games before bed as a family. The view from the cabin is stunning, and Bell Mountain lookout is only a few minutes away. The drive up the mountain is extremely steep but worth it!
Great cabin with a mountain and lake view.
I loved everything about this rental. Ease of use with VRBO. After check in, contact with owner was very reliable. The cabin was perfect for our group. The upper level with 2 bedrooms and a wrap around porch, offering a sweeping view of the mountains and the lake below, is perfect for a small family. But with a “master suite” on the bottom level, steps away from the hot tub, you can bring an extra person or 2 and have a couples retreat when the stars come out. Besides the cabin being perfect for us and our dogs, the location is ideal. Rustic enough for a true mountain getaway, but close enough to enjoy a day in the cute German town of Helen, a date night in The eclectic hiker/biker town of Clayton, or a jaunt over to NC for some jet skis on the Lake. We did all this and 3 different day hikes out to waterfalls nearby. The quiet town of Hiawassee is perfect for a mountain river and lake getaway. Next time up, which I’m sure will be soon, I plan to hit the streams and fish for trout.
Relaxing mountain experience
Gorgeous views. Everything was clean. We had a fantastic time! Very relaxing. Spent a fair amount of time on the balcony, as well as in the hot tub and in front of the fire pit. I would definitely come back here again.
We had such a great visit at Pretty Fawn Place! Karen was awesome with check in & suggestions for sightseeing. The cabin was spotless and had everything we needed for our stay. The view is beyond beautiful from the deck, but the car ride up is a little scary the 1st time.
You must go to Bell Mtn Park!
This private secluded wooded lot home is on a paved only 2 miles from the middle of Hiawassee, Ga. The lake with 2 marinas is only a few minutes away. Ga. Mountain Fair Grounds is 10 mins and a very nice playground is across the street at the mountain beach park. Two hour beautiful drive over the mountain to Gatlinburg, Tenn.
