A lovely home
This is a lovely home, beautifully decorated and appointed, in a convenient and charming location. We stayed here on the final leg of our New England adventure and we truly saved the best for last. The home could not be more comfortable or enjoyable. Thank you, Maryalice, for sharing your charming home with us!

Charming house and location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Arlington and Maryalice's home was great! The house is very large and contains about any utensil or amenity you could need. The home also has many interesting decorations and every comfort of 'being home.' Arlington is a charming town and our stay happened to coincide with a Friday evening Farmer's Market that we enjoyed and found some delicious baked goods to purchase for the rest of our Vermont stay! We would highly recommend The Chocolatorium. The house was very clean and well-stocked.

Quaint house with lots of room and character
Four of us drove up from Philly on a Friday night and had to, unfortunately, leave after our second day of skiing at Stratton on Sunday. So, we only had two nights at Mary Alice's cozy house. Next time, we intend to try to stay here for a whole week and enjoy the cute little village of Arlington and the bigger town of Manchester along with skiing at several of the half dozen ski mountains close enough for day trips. The house has absolutely everything you could possibly want for a vacation in Vermont (except you need to bring your own firewood for the fireplace - BYOF). If you don't bring wood, there are several places locally where you can purchase it. The house is way bigger than the photos make it appear and it includes tons of books, DVDs, every kitchen item known to man, and lots of interesting decorations and knickknacks... We really loved our brief time here and wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you for renting your quaint house to us ! Totally recommend it to families or groups of friends of all ages. A cozy and welcoming home
We were pleasantly surprised with our Arlington home. The home was so cozy and inviting with an historic feel. We loved that we were close to both Manchester and the mountains. The Arlington Inn, located across the street from the house, was a real find. After a day of skiing and dinner at the Arlington Inn, it was quite a treat to be able to make a fire back at the house. We will definitely keep this lovely house on our list for the next time we are back up in Vermont.

My husband and I live in Bloomfield, Connecticut. I sell real estate and my husband is the Town Manager for the Town of Bloomfield, Connecticut.

Why they chose this property

I grew up in Vermont and my husband worked there after graduating from college so we decided to look there when we wanted to purchase a second home. We decided we wanted to live in a place where we could walk to things and be close to the kinds of activites we enjoy here in Connecticut like music and art, shopping and fine dining. The Manchester area was the logical choice for us because it was not too far from Connecticut and had many fo the same benefits.

What makes this property unique

We knew we wanted to be close to Manchester but we did not want to live there. It was too expensive and not 'Vermont' enough for us. Thus we choose Arlington. We also wanted a property that had good rental potential and this property accomplished that. We love how old this house was and yet it had an updated kitchen. We also love the charm and the size of the rooms. We can have a large crowd in this house and no one feels cramped. We walk to the library, to the rec center, the 7/11 and Church all the time and sometimes to dinner at the Arlington Inn.. There is a nice sense of community in the Village which we really enjoy. The house is just perfect for us!
