About this property

Midnight sun in Finnish Lapland

The White Blue Wilderness Lodge offers you a cozy cottage. This is located on an island in Lake Muddusjärvi, one of the largest lakes in Finnish Lapland on the 69.1. Latitude north of Inari.

You travel in your own car to the parking lots on the mainland. Here is a boat waiting for you to take you to the Wilderness Lodge. The fully equipped Cottage VESI, a boat, a sauna and part of a large lake (Muddusjärvi) are at your disposal.

In the VESI you will find a kitchen, living, dining, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, sauna, fireplace, TV and WiFi (free of charge). The kitchen is equipped so that you can take care of your shopping from day one. Cottage VESI can accommodate 2 people.

Your vacation paradise invites you to go fishing, swimming, watching animals, hiking or just simply unwind. You can fish the following types of fish from your lake: trout, arctic char, pike, perch and stickleback. You can then grill your fish by the campfire in the tipi by the lake.

The midnight sun invites you to romantic boat tours or animal watching on the 10 hectare property. With a bit of luck you can see reindeer, elk, lemmings, wolverines, different types of birds and, with even more luck, wolves and brown bears.

Amazing, don't miss it!
Our stay in the lodge was really great. The location in the Island in the wilderness is incredible and the lodge was even better than we expected. There is everything inside you need for a perfect stay, a fully equipped kitchen, a sauna, a nice and warm bed, a huge cozy couch, even internet connection and everything was perfectly clean. The greatest of all is the surroundings. You get lost in peacefulness, quiet, nature, snow and relaxation. Three days there are worth so much more than 2 entire weeks in a spa. The owners Jonas and Rosie are very welcoming and friendly people as well. A big thank you! We'll come again!

Absolute paradise! Away from the tourist crowd and amazingly beautiful - truly unique
My boyfriend and I stayed in the small lodge for 3 nights right after Christmas. I wished we stayed for a whole month! It is absolutely perfect if, like us, you want to live a special experience in Lapland, away from tourists. One couldn't be more isolated: you need a 3-min snowmobile ride to get to the lodge, up on its small island (it is doable by foot using snowshoes in about 20min but we never did so, we were too confortable there!) The whole experience was surreal: we arrived at "sunset" (3pm) and easily met with Jonas who was drove us across the lake in his snowmobile, which gave us a magical view over the surroundings. Jonas was very helpful in giving the tour of the lodge: it is decorated with taste, fully equipped, warm and cosy. We brought groceries with us for the duration of our stay and found everything we needed in the kitchen. And of course: there's a sauna, which is definitely appreciated :) We rented snowshoes from Jonas and basically spend the 3 days exploring the lake and forests around - Jonas was kind enough to draw trails in the snow with his snowmobile so that we could hike. We hunted auroras at night and could see some, even from the living room's window! We didn't do any of the tours offered by Jonas because we wanted to rest as much as possible, but he is offering a wide range of activities and is a very knowledgable and kind guide. There is another bigger lodge on the island which looks even more beautiful - we plan to come back there with friends! We've been travelling a lot and we can tell: it is truly a unique place. I can see families, couples, or groups of friends enjoying it as much as we did. I recommend to stay 3 nights or more to enjoy it fully, as the weather changes a lot and you get to re-discover the landscape as the weather evolves. Ivalo airport is not too far. In a nutshell: this is a magical place, we recommend it 100%, and we definitely want to come back. Thanks to the Georgi family for making this place available for tourists from all around the world!
