Perfect! Comfortable and close to everything.

I am artist and enjoy coming to the island to draw/ paint and experience this magical environment. My stay at the cottage was perfect! Very comfortable, clean and quiet, situated in a nice wooded area with views to the cove. Highly recommended, I will definitely be back next year!

A peaceful cottage on the Maine coast

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in this cottage the the night of my wedding rehearsal dinner and the night before my wedding. This cottage is so charming and romantic; there is even a fireplace in the bathroom with a claw-footed bath tub! Improvements were made to the kitchen to update appliances and give more space for cooking. The gardens surrounding the cottage allow for fresh flower bouquets for most of the summer.

perfect getaway cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time. What a lovely place, quiet and peaceful, clean and charming, just what we were hoping for. Our kind host even prepared some care packages for my son, which were an immediate hit after many hours in car. We enjoyed fires in all the fireplaces and were treated to sunsets every evening. It was our first time to Acadia with my four year old son. We spent a lot of time in the park, but were always very glad to return to the cottage. On one occasion, while the exploring down by the water near the cottage, my son got into a conversation with a very talkative loon who landed just a few yards from the dock. That's how you make a happy four year old.

We had a lovely time.

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely time at the Seal Ledges cottage. It was charming and well appointed. The rooms were all very comfortable, clean and inviting. We enjoyed a fire inside and on the screened in porch on chilly nights..The sunsets were spectacular. I was surprised to see a house blocking part of the water view, but it was a short walk to sit on the dock and take in the scenery. Even in the fall, the flowers were very pretty on the property, many butterflies.

Seal Ledges Stay- Labor Day week 2016

  • 5 of 5

Our family has returned many times to his tranquil quietside location. The expansive yard, large porch area with a fireplace, and Sunset Cove view are tough to beat. The house is very clean, and there is great attention to every detail. We are looking forward to returning in 2017.

Perfection

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect quintessential Maine cottage. It is charming and beautiful, but more than that, it is comfortable. We spent hours after hiking relaxing on the deck or the screened porch. The furniture is cozy and very comfortable in both places. The setting is gorgeous and quiet and the cottage and gardens are immaculately maintained. We loved being on the back side of the island where we did not have to compete with other hikers for the trails. It was quiet and peaceful.

The owner is the best owner that we have ever dealt with - and we have a track record of summer renting at this point. She is friendly but not intrusive and exceedingly responsive. She provided all linens and paper goods, laundry detergent and beach towels as well. She is so organized that we didn’t have to do any of our own research, except for scoping out the miles of different hiking trails. The information she provided was well thought out and up to date. She also provided tips about the restaurants and reservations, as well as other activities in the area. We will be back. It’s a perfect property and a perfect owner!
