** Don't miss the house tour video. Please check the availability calendar (above) as we keep it up to date.
Please do not plan or attempt to host PARTIES/LARGE GATHERINGS here. It's a residential location, houses are very close together, we live across the street, and we respect our neighbors. We welcome quiet, respectful groups.
Thank you for viewing our home! **
Close to downtown, this spacious high-end remodel offers a rare combination of well appointed open space and private bedrooms to all. This home has hosted as few as two as well as families for holidays, wedding visitors & reunions. The home boasts three defined spaces- master suite with a view deck and guest room, main floor living with a king suite, & garden level suites and living area. Japanese maples & towering stones grace the front courtyard with huge terra cotta pots at the entrance. Through the front door, functional art lights a wide entry with a fireplace. Custom inlaid stairs lead to the large view master suite and bath, & adjoining guest room. Dual sliders open to a 750 square foot deck that views the Cascade Mountains south to Mount Rainier. Main level holds a custom kitchen & great room. If you enjoy the preparation of food, this is your place. The granite and stainless kitchen have dual sinks, Thermador ovens, Dacor 6-burner cook top, warming drawer, separate full-size fridge/ freezer, microwave, and diamond-shaped island. Great room holds HDTV, Bose surround sound, and wireless internet and printer available. The entertainment center is designed to be used without losing interaction with anyone cooking in the kitchen. Please check out the pictures of the Spa bath; we've been told this is a highly unique vacation rental that shows even better than the pictures. We hope you get the chance to enjoy!
Warm Regards, Alex
Hello, my name is Alex and I enjoy a good chat and friendly folks. The opportunity to induce a laugh, or even a smile brightens the day. My favorite victim is my wife Lisa, she's wonderfully patient.
LISA & ALEX BARKLEY purchased this house in 1997
I came across this house in 1997 and spent the better part of a decade with a full remodel. I loved the attractions of the neighborhood; The 'Junction' and Alki beach areas of West Seattle have unbelievable food, a high rate of supermarket saturation, easy and mostly free parking, huge views of the water, ferries, and the downtown skyline all the way to Mt. Rainier! In addition, our proximity to the heart of Seattle is very, very close; we even have a foot ferry that, in a picturesque 10 min. ride, will drop you off in Seattle's entertaining waterfront area close to the Pike Place Market.
We offer may amenities, like spices, all detergents (clothes, dish soap, and dishwasher), body soap, hand soap, many kitchen gadgets, blow dryers. Including toilet paper (3 extra rolls), compost bags, trash bags, and paper towel.
We had a great stay here. Weather was perfect so we especially loved all the outdoor space, patio and yard. The home is very comfortable and clean. We loved exploring Alki beach area too. Would definitely stay here again!
This home was wonderful for our family of 11. All four couples had their own space and the children loved the huge home to play in. It is not stated that there is no air conditioning but for us it was not an issue and we loved sleeping with the windows open and not have screens because there are no bugs, WOW. We were a bit concerned on our second morning when we were sitting in the living room and a voice from the living room said "hope everyone is dressed". It was the owner and she had seen the light was out in the fridge the day we had moved in and she wanted to replace it. Though this was very nice of her we thought she should have knocked on the locked front door. We did realize throughout the week she was in the home three other times when we were out and about. This has never happened to us before in the many homes we have rented so we found it different but I still feel the house was great and would recommend it.
This lovely home was the perfect spot for our extended visiting family to get together in anticipation of a local family wedding. We enjoyed the lovely and eclectic decor, the beautiful views, the comfortable bedrooms. It was a pleasure to cook together in such a well stocked kitchen.
Just spent 8 days in this beautiful home with 8 adult family members in Seattle for the wedding of our daughter. Would return in a heartbeat! Beautiful home! Very clean! Unbelievably stocked with every amenity....from a state of the art kitchen, unique bathrooms, lots of livable space for family gatherings as well as privacy when desired. Breathtaking view from top deck. Owners (Lisa) available for any questions and graciously allowed us to host a small rehearsal dinner for the wedding party. Great location, quiet neighborhood with easy access to grocery stores, restaurants, and Alki Beach. ( Definite plus to be able to park 2-3 cars in the driveway!) Truly a perfect fit for our family with room to spare. Thank you again!
8 of us easily fit for a weekend when we attended the Scott Firefighter Stair climb to benefit the leukemia lymphoma society. During our 4 day stay we got to enjoy the open space of the house and relax between the event and exploring Seattle. I would definitely stay here again!
This home was amazing and perfect for our group of 10. Beautiful views of the city from the deck off the upstairs level. Extremely well appointed and well cared for home. One of our group did rent a car which was handy for running to the local Safeway for supplies but when heading downtown, we opted for the 15 minute walk through the community to Alki Beach where we caught the water taxi. Located in a quiet neighbourhood that we would not have seen had we stayed downtown. We were all able to gather for meals together or have time to ourselves if needed.
Lisa was exceptionally accommodating and responded to my enquiries during the booking/reservation process very quickly. Thank you for making this part run so smoothly.
Our stay could not have been better. Thanks :)
West Seattle's Admiral neighborhood is located 10 minutes from downtown Seattle's Pioneer Square, Safeco Field & Century Link Stadium, Seattle Art Museum, Pike Place Market, and great shopping and food variety. West Seattle's upscale groceries, gourmet restaurants, atmospheric bars, Alki beach, Lincoln Park, and ferries to downtown Seattle and Vashon Island are just minutes away.
Other Activities: Bowling, kayaking
