In the tower you can feel history, nature, peace. You will feel medieval life with nowadays comfort. Enjoy views from every direction on your dream vacation at the ultra-comfortable, well-equipped home.
Living history — with modern amenities — is what we did when we stayed in the renovated 15th century tower overlooking the ancient hilltop town of Oto in the Pyrenees. Magnificently restored by its owners to meet the needs of today’s travelers, the Tower provides guests with a sense of what it must have been like to be the nobles overseeing a gorgeous kingdom including the small mountain village, hectares of lush pasture lands, and the awe-inspiring Pyrenees. Living within the Tower’s deep stone walls — complete with slits to accommodate early archers as well as windows offering views in every direction —while enjoying modern amenities (living room, full kitchen, two bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms ) was a wonderful way to experience this enchanting area of the world and to travel back through time. A look through the Tower’s guest book showed that youngsters who’ve stayed in the tower have especially enjoyed experiencing history here.
Hospitable owners Elena and Jose’ Mari have succeeded in reconstructing the Tower’s exterior to reflect its original form while ensuring that modern travelers can live comfortably here as they experience a sense of historic noble life in a hill town in the middle ages. We were drawn to Oto and its Tower through reading “The Girl From Oto,” an historical novel by Amy Maroney set in this part of the world. Our brief stay in the tower made it easy to see how the author was inspired to visit the history of this beautiful area.
Our 4 night stay in this magnificently restored medieval tower was a wonderful end to our two week holiday in Spain. The tower is very comfortable and is well equipped. The living room on the first floor has beautiful views overlooking the lush valley and its numerous windows and squints make the room surprisingly light. The location of the tower is perfect for exploring the spectacular Ordesa national park. The picturesque hamlet of Oto is only 10 minutes walk from Broto which has supermarkets and several restaurants. Elena and her family were charming and very hospitable. We would love to stay here again and would highly recommend the accommodation to anyone wishing to spend time in this part of Spain.
Our family of four from the US stayed for a couple nights at the Tower. To put things in perspective, I am a university professor. We were on a tight budget, and we were in Europe for four months. Staying here was a stretch financially, but it was a FANTASTIC decision! It was the single best place we stayed on our trip. Elena was lovely. The area is stunning, and the village quaint. The tower itself is clean as can be, and so relaxing. We wish we could've stayed a month. We loved the picture book that showed the extensive rehab work that went into the tower to make the finished product such a fantastic experience.
We'd gladly stay again here on a return visit. Just for the record, Ordesa is one of the best parks I've been to in my life, and I've travelled all over the world. Elena will answer any and all questions, and make you feel at home.
It is rare for me to say that a property exceeded my expectations and I had high expectations for this property. This is a perfectly designed and executed high class remodeling and adaptive re-use of a medieval structure. The architect should be very proud. I recommend it without reservation or qualification. The views of the countryside from within the tower are breathtaking. In addition, we lucked out and Elena, her husband and other family members were also in residence and getting to know them was an added pleasure.
We stayed four days at the LaTorre Oto . The place has an exceptional design.
The hosts are the charming couple of Helena and Jose.
Helena is a Oto native, her family lived there, the castle was renovated by the couple.
There is a thinking to small details.
Although the apartment is divided into several floors, it feels very intimate and cozy.
The host arrived at the weekend and they suggested us to follow Jose to a challenging adventurous climbing to Cascade de Sarrosal.
Jose was our guide and he even handled hiring the necessary safety gear for us.
In conclusion, we strongly recommend the place and the host couple.
