This is a quiet, private, beautifully maintained home, less than four miles from beach and town.
The couple that built and maintain this home treasure the serene natural surroundings. The owners are native to Kennebunk and treasure all 4 seasons in this idyllic seaside community and can help you with any questions you may have!
Audrey Zahares purchased this house in 1990
This is a special property if you want quiet, wildlife and privacy but still want to be close to all the activities that Kennebunkport has to offer.
Steps to Rachel Carson nature trail or Lauholm Farm. Canoe or kayak on Little River. Hunting or fishing on acres of marsh. Ride a bike the short distance for ice cream.
My brother and his family joined my wife and me for a 5 night stay recently and our first trip to Kennebunkport. Firstly the house is exactly what you expect from the advertisement. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 downstairs and 1 upstairs. These are nicely appointed and there were plenty of towels for our use. The living area - a big open-plan space on the first floor- was perfect for our needs and joins the larger deck which is screened in. Downstairs there is also a TV room (we didn’t use) and a laundry. The house sits on a lovely plot on a very quiet, private road. The children (5 and 7 yrs old) could be left to play outside with no concerns for their safety. The house is just what you need if you have children and you don't want a place that is so fancy you spend your holiday worrying about the furnishings– it is a simple, clean, charming home in truly beautiful setting and I thoroughly recommend it. Parson's beach (2 miles away) and Goose Rocks Beach (10 minute drive) are stunning. Audrey is a great host too and we won’t hesitate to come back another day.
I fell in love with this house as soon as I saw the listing, and it lived up to its billing in every way. The house is clean, roomy and very well appointed. The location, on a private road, is ideal. It's private and quiet, with breath-taking nature views, yet just minutes away from great beaches, restaurants and other attractions. A great spot for a family vacation! I look forward to returning next fall.
Privacy reigned supreme here although Parsons Beach is literally right down the road and both Kennebunk and Kennebunkport are close (biking to beaches eliminates parking pass/parking issues and is completely doable). Coffee and cocktails were good choices for the deck (both screened and open) and the house is open and functional (two floor layout worked well) but the quiet and privacy were the real value to me. Summer in Kennebunkport is fantastic but can be crowded be it in town and at the beach so it was nice having a quiet oasis to retreat.
