Favorite house and spot on the lake

  • 5 of 5

First Connecticut lake is a significant lake and while there are several houses and cabins, it is largely undeveloped with one long side of the lake completely without houses. The lake is clear and the cleanest lake I’ve ever seen/been in, and being from NH, we know what clean is. Feeling in the lake is crisp. Loons will visit you and you’ll hear them at night and in the early morning. We’ve vacationed in Pittsburg for many years. The Ambrose Lodge is in a perfect location. Close to the few conveniences of civilization Pittsburg has, but out of sight and no sounds from Route 3. It’s on a very private lot at the end of the road with no view of neighbors. The views are as perfect as depicted in the pictures. You can be on the deck with a great overview, or right down on the lake, and at night around the fire pit.

The house itself is stunning. Kids can make the lower level their own with the kitchenette, bedrooms, and entertainment center, while the upper level is great for mom and dad and everyone together as desired. The house has been decorated in themes of nature consistent with northern New Hampshire.

Pamela is a great host too, she makes you feel welcome, and is always available should you need anything (you won’t though). She’s also added touches to personalize your stay. Wine left for us and frosty mugs in the freezer! Everything you want/need from home is already here. The new Sonos system was great! Bed super comfortable.

Once you come here, you won’t want to go anywhere else. We always feel fortunate to have such a place for a time, I suggest booking early.

Owner's Response: Wow Eric, Thank you so much for taking the time to mention the details of the Lodge and the location. I agree it is wonderful to view nothing but nature from the deck, listening to the loons calling to one another. We love to sit around the fire pit at night too. The stars are so clear and bright, it's really magical. It sounds like you enjoyed walking to Moose Alley Cones and Treats and Treasures convenience store and gift shop. I'm gad that you found the beds comfy. I added memory foam toppers and luxury linens . Please come back and join us again. We love having you!!

Beautiful, relaxing vacation spot

  • 5 of 5

We could not have asked for a better place to stay for our snowmobile vacation!

We have been coming to Pittsburg, NH for 7 years now and this is, by far, the best place we have stayed! Pamela made sure that any questions we had were answered and was a pleasure to deal with. From the moment we walked in the door, it was like we were part of the family. We will definitely be staying here again. Thank you to the Ambrose Family!

Love the Ambrose Lodge

  • 5 of 5

This was our second visit to the Ambrose Lodge, and we loved it just as much as the first time. The snowmobile trails were the best we have ever experienced thanks to all the snow, and we enjoyed long rides, and then cozy evenings in this beautiful home.

Thank you Ed and Pam for sharing and allowing us to enjoy this place - we will be back next year for sure!

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying with us once again. I'm glad that everything was welcoming and comfortable for you. I couldn't agree more; The trails are magnificent this year. There is plenty of snow base so hopefully we will continue to get great riding for the upcoming weeks and Snodeo. We also love coming back to a warm home and watching the sleds crossing the lake at night from the great room sharing food and cheer with friends and family. We are blessed to have this special spot and love sharing it with guests who appreciate the beauty and adventure of the wilderness expanse here. Kind regards and ride safe, Pamela

What a fantastic getaway! It doesn't get any better than this!

  • 5 of 5

As always, the house was impeccably clean, smelled wonderfully fresh and welcoming. The beds are fabulous and watching the sleds racing across the lake at night with the heavy snow falling in the great room was like being in a snow dome.

The riding was unbelievable (four to five feet at Diamond Ridge) and smooth as could be.

This is just such a lovely way to return from a day of riding. Cocktails in the great room, apps made in the open kitchen area and stories around the table and bar.

I can't get enough of this home and the area.

This is the 6th year in a row we stay at Ambrose Lodge! We stay for 4 weeks every fall and are never disappointed in anything about this beautiful lodge! Pamela and Ed do an amazing job of taking care of this house! It is always well stocked and spotless when we arrive! It has been consistently perfect for 6 years and running! We are already booked for 2017 and always counting the days until we return to Ambose Lodge! Thank you Pamela and Ed!
