We made a last minute plan to celebrate my dad's birthday. I'm so glad I inquired. The owner responded immediately, making the reservation quick and easy. We enjoyed the view from the condo, and especially a beautiful sunset from the marina dock. We rented linens, making for an easy weekend. The condo is right downtown, and easy walking distance from shops and restaurants. Of course, the local adventures were within very short drive away. We opted for the Wallops Island Flight Facility visitor center and the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. There were a few minor items in need of repair at the condo, and the management company took the information straight away. We did not need anything repaired in order to function, so everything came off just fine. The condo was so spacious for our party of 6 (4 adults + 2 kids). We enjoyed a lovely visit together, and I would very much recommend staying here again.
But there were a few maintenance items that needed to be addressed. The size of the rooms were great, deck was spectacular and kitchen and granite countertops were really nice. However, there were a few items that needed to be fixed, the deck could have used a table and it would have been nice if we would have been told to bring dish soap or paper towels ahead of time. Otherwise, it was convenient to be within walking distance of town, pool was in good working order and we had no problems with parking in the lot.
We unfortunately couldn't get into the room until after check-in time which was pretty inconvenient since we had a toddler with us and had driven for so long, and check-out was 10 AM, which is pretty early.
We stole away for a very last-minute road trip to Chincoteague and I'm so glad we found this spot! The owner was quick to respond to my morning inquiry and the reservation was finalized within 2 hours. By 3pm, we were on the road! We picked up the keys and the linens we rented and headed right over to the condo just as the sun was setting on the bay. The view as soon as you walk in the front door, is SPECTACULAR! The photos on the site definitely did not do it justice! The kitchen is huge and well-appointed and the open floorplan is great for a relaxing atmosphere. The TV/entertainment area could've been better organized and a little more beefed up (small table, wires showing, remote missing, etc) but since it was just the two of us, and we hardly spent any time in front of the tv, it wasn't a huge deal. We spent most of our time on the large wraparound deck. The weather was mild and we hung out with a bottle of wine almost every evening. Because it was the offseason, the condo units were mostly empty. We only saw about a dozen other people over 4 days of being there. It was nice- felt very private and we could enjoy the view with the blinds open. The master bedroom was large and also had an amazing view. There was one dresser, 2 nightstands and 2 large closets. Another dresser would've been a hit, as would a TV, but the bed was insanely comfortable and the sheets we rented thru the property manager were high thread count and very, very comfy... I could've spent a whole weekend napping in that bed! :) The master bathroom has an amazing stand up shower, jacuzzi tub, toilet and his & hers sink vanity. There was lots of space for both of us to move around and plenty of storage for unpacking toiletries. We didnt use the other 2 bedrooms but they were both large and had basic furniture included. That side of the condo also included a bathroom that we didnt use, but looked to be a typical 2nd bathroom. In regards to the area of Chincoteague, I thought the Villas were the perfect spot. You're in walking distance to all the restaurants/shops, there's a bike rental place just steps away from the parking lot and we biked everywhere we wanted to go- we hardly used the car. Overall, we were thrilled with our decision to rent this property and we're hoping to return again soon!
This was the 2nd year that we have chosen to spend the Christmas holidays on Chincoteague Island. This place is awesome!! The view is fabulous and the accommodations were perfect for my family. We felt so comfortable and at home the first year (2009) that we decided to return, and will return as often as possible. Being Eastern Shore natives, we had the chance to re-visit everything that we love about the Shore. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for that perfect place to stay on Chincoteague.
Stayed here for a week. The location and view are perfect and the condo is very nicely decorated. We will definitely be back!
We picked the unit because of it is directly on the water and its location is ideal. We walked and biked to everything while we were there. The pictures looked great but did not do it justice. The place was immaculate and beautifullt decorated. The kids practically lived at the pool and fishing/crabbing pier. We saw postcard like sunsets almost everynight from our balcony. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Crabbing and fishing right off the dock. Beautiful Bay Front pool. Art Stroll 2nd Saturday year round. The Annual Pony Swim and auction plus the Chincoteague Firemen's Carnival in July. Great biking and hiking at National wildlife refuge.
