Andrea & George
About Andrea & George
We came on a whim to take a drive through the country. We had no thoughts of buying anything. Before we left we had puchased 500 acres of beautiful forest land right on Kentucky Lake just below the Kentucky border. From 1992 on we did improvements everywhere. We put a road in 2.5 miles and brought in electricity. We moved in, (1999).
Andrea & George purchased this House in 1992
Why Andrea & George chose Stewart
We live on the 500 acres of our property. We retired here because of the beauty of the nature all around us. There are only 8,000 very friendly folks living in our county. There is one grocery store and only 4 places to buy gas and no shopping centers! We do have our own fuel tanks for guests. We do not lock our doors at our home. (Do not even remember where the keys are.) The Lake is 184 miles long with over 2000 miles of shore line. It is one of the great fresh water fishing lakes in the USA. Hardwood forests dominate the land. It is God's country. We love living here. We came, we saw, we bought, we retired here.
What makes this House unique
Our own 4 wheeler/hiking trails start near the cabin. Panoramic vistas with forests and water and no development make this area an ideal place for vacationing for families and group getaways. Nature surrounds us. Our land is on the Mississippi Flyway. In the spring and fall we have all the migratory birds come through us. Bald eagles are here year round. We see them from the shore and best of all from the water. Kentucky Lake is one of the best fishing lakes in the South. The lake is ideal for all water sports. Lots of coves with calm waters for skiing and swimming. Even on holidays you will be quite alone on the water and forest.

Great place to spend a quiet weekend. The home was very comfortable. You'll love it.
We arrived early Saturday morning and George, owner, could not have been more accommodating. He brought the Mule over and taught us how to drive it. We had a great time visiting the back roads, taking the ferry across the lake, and sitting on the dock enjoying a few drinks. This is an amazing place to spend a weekend. The house was very clean, lots of room and the air was COLD. We will be back to enjoy this place. Next time I am bringing my fishing pole. Great place. You must go.
Come on back soon!
Location Location Location!
We had a great stay at the Woods and Water property with a group of 7 including 3 teenagers. The floating dock right off the screened back porch was perfect for swimming, launching kayaks and tying up the bass boat. The interior decorating was homely but homey, somewhere between grandma's trailer and a flea market stall; everything we needed was there including clean linens and basic paper goods. The wifi was solid and the washer/dryer were handy to have with kids and pets. A better grill would have been nice. The owners were helpful and accessible; the neighbors were friendly and the community quiet. We did a wonderful creek walk and ate at a couple of the area restaurants (beware of early closing times even on the weekends). Unfortunately fishing on Kentucky Lake seems to be in a slump from what it was in years past.
Very nice place!
We had a great time. The owners were very helpful with showing us around. Would definantly go again!
Woods & Waters cabin
First things first, Water's Edge cabin is so far from a cabin it's almost funny! The so called "CABIN" is a mobile home that is probably 45 years old! There is no yard for kids to play in , basically a gravel driveway and that is at a 25% grade. As far as being clean i would rate it as a 7to a8 on a scale of 10 being
The dirtest! Wouldn't been so bad but called to see when we could get in and George told us not to be there before 3pm cause cleaning crew had to get in there first, they must not of made it ? As far as the Pontoon boat rental told George we needed the bigger one ,come the day we had rented it was raining so we went out another day , when we went to get boat we were told the bigger one was not available ! The smaller one ran fine just was a little small for the size of party we had.So if your looking for a CABIN this is not a cabin. Also when George talks about "the beach" laugh cause there is no "beach".
1. First things first, Water's Edge cabin is so far from a cabin it's almost funny! . The so called "CABIN" is a mobile home that is probably 45 years old! There is no yard for kids to play in, basically a gravel driveway and that is at a 25% grade.
Answer: Webster's '2' dictionary defines "cabin" as "A small roughly built house"
There is no "age" requirements for a cabin.
This cabin has a very large gravel area to park cars, trucks, ATVs, ATV trailers, boat and boat trailers and vehicles for up to 8 guest units. Folks that come to our cabins bring many items that need parking.
We have 573 acres to play in with miles of trails and several; beaches. The cabin has a 20X20 foot floating swim platform with chairs and a table. The cabin is 10 feet from the water.
If you need a "yard" to play in, I guess 573 acres is not large enough.
3. As far as being clean i would rate it as a 7 to an 8 on a scale of 10 being
The dirtest! (His spelling)
Answer: The cabin is decorated with collectibles. They are by definition worn and old.. Folks who are not into collectibles define these as old and dirty.
4. As far as the Pontoon boat rental, come the day we had rented it was raining so we went out another day , when we went to get boat we were told the bigger one was not available ! The smaller one ran fine just was a little small for the size of party we had.
Answer: They were told early in the year to reserve the pontoon you wanted. They did not reserve anything. They wanted the 24 foot pontoon that is rated for 15 folks. It was reserved several weeks earlier. We have to honor those folks that reserve ahead of time to hold the item. It is first to reserve gets the item.
The 18 foot pontoon is rated for 8 folks, which is how many they had including small children.
These folks did not reserve any boat. We did have an 18 foot pontoon that is rated for 8 folks which is what they had, of which several were small children..
5. So if your looking for a CABIN this is not a cabin. Also when George talks about "the beach" laugh cause there is no ."beach".
Answer: These folks did not go to any of our several beaches on our 573 acres. I guess they think the cabin should be on the beach and not have a 20X20 foot floating swim platform.
These folks wanted a Hilton with a yard and right on the beach.. We are all about Woods & Water with 8000 county folks, not a Hilton class get away.
Sorry, if you expect high class resort with lots of restaurants and shops.
Hidden find by nice homes
Facilities small and dated. Baths / towels not clean. Good location and nice homes nearby. Overpriced. Kind personnel.
Quiet, Beautiful surroundings, Simple
The walks in the creek, the boating, spotting eagle, deer, wild turkey, armadillo, the proximity to Fort Donalson and the Land between the Lakes was great! The local folk were so kind. Then, add the adrenaline rush of renting an atv through the trails and the waters with very few boats so skiing and wake boarding were stress free. It was a great trip! The place we stayed was simple - but we were not looking for amenities - We wanted someplace easy on the wallet but filled with a mix of relaxation and fun. I recommend this spot!!

We are in the Mississippi flyway. Migratory birds come see us in the Spring and the Fall.
