The property is in Vancouver Heights (NW corner of Burnaby). From the property, there are fantastic views from Stanley Park and Vancouver harbour in the west to the North Shore Mountains and Indian Arm in the east. It's a 15 minute drive to a number of great spots including the heart of downtown Vancouver, the foot of Grouse, Cypress or Seymour Mountains, and the sandy beaches of Barnet Marine park. This is a great location!

The neighborhood is known for its wonderful delis, coffee shops, and restaurants of every ethnicity.

There is a marine park right below the property offering miles of jogging and hiking trails that reach into Burnaby Mountain to the east, and the waterfront and city to the west. It's easy to get to the top of Burnaby Mountain, the home of Simon Fraser University, with lots of great recreational opportunities and classes found there. The North Shore Mountains - Grouse, Seymour and Cypress - present multiple down-hill and cross country skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing options in the winter, and hiking trails, wildlife reserves, restaurants and picnic areas in the summer all with stunning views of the lower mainland.

Parks in the neighbourhood include a large park above the property with tennis courts, climbing apparatus for kids, and a soccer field, and a larger park called Confederation (2 minute drive away) with a full-sized jogging/walking track, climbing apparatus and water park for kids, picnic tables, etc. Its adjacent to Eileen Daily Indoor Leisure Center (pools, steam room, exercise classes, weight training facilities).

Public bus transportation is a 5 minute walk from the property.

Below the track is the Burnaby Central Railway operated by a BC Engineers association taking families on miniature train rides through the forested area (summer).

The Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) grounds are a 3 minute drive away and offer Playland (family amusement park), Hastings Horse Racing Track (spring and summer) and the Pacific National Exhibition in the last 2 weeks of August. Check out the PNE site online for many other activities and events hosted there, and for their farmer's market days.

Close by is the New Brighton beach park and outdoor swimming pool - great for a swim and afternoon picnic....There is so much to explore in this neighbourhood!

Just so there are no surprises....at the back of the house, under the living-room, dining-room, my husband and I have a suite. We park in the back, come and go through the back into our own entrance - there is no shared entrance with guests. We are completely separate. Our guests don't 'see' us unless they need something :)

My family was in the harbor-tour business for many years. We really enjoyed taking visitors out cruising in Vancouver harbour and beyond - experiencing the mountain, ocean and city views from the water. Its familiar but different now - welcoming visitors to enjoy the 'views' - this time from the 'Heights'.

Sean purchased this house in 1987

Aside from the convenience to so many great recreational and cultural venues, the specialness of this property is it's unbelievably great, ever changing, mountain and harbour view.

Our family had an excellent vacation staying at this wonderful place for a week. This was the perfect place for our family of two grandparents, three adults, and a young toddler. The house was spacious, spotless, very comfortable, and well supplied. We absolutely loved the location of this house, especially the gorgeous views of the mountains and the harbor from the dining room and upstairs bedrooms.



Our family also loved this quiet residential area, good parking spot in front of the house for our rental van, short walking distance to a nearby park, easy access to public transportation, 5 minutes drive to Safe Way, bakeries, fruit markets, cafes and numerous restaurants.



Thank you Wayne for your great suggestions on the restaurants, especially the Italian and Japanese places. It was so relaxing eating late night dinners with delicious take outs from the nearby restaurants, nice and quiet with our baby already in bed upstairs, while enjoying the amazing million dollars view from your dinner room. Thank you Sean for providing the baby gates, the Pack and Play, the high chair, the basket of children books and toys, and especially the three vases of beautiful fresh cut flowers for the welcoming touch. Both of you were so friendly, caring, helpful, and had made us feel so welcomed. It was a truly a home away from home vacation experience. We would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Vancouver, especially family with children.

Fantastic base for exploring Vancouver

The house is even better than the photos which are amazing.

The location is great with easy access to everything vancouver has to offer. There are a large number of restaurants and a Safeway within 5 minutes, and entry into the city, Granville or north to Capilano or on to Whistler all so easy from a central location.

It's been a really comfortable stay, highly reccommended.

Vancouver vacation

We had a wonderful vacation in Vancouver. The house was just like it was pictured, very lovely and comfortable. Sean and Wayne were great hosts. The house was located in a nice, quiet neighborhood, away from the busy streets of Vancouver.

Great place to stay

This is a great place!. The house is spacious & had every we needed. We loved the views. It's close & easy to get to everything downtown & beyond. Sean is a very gracious host, very responsive, helped us get acquainted with the neighborhood, where to find things, how to navigate the area. If we're ever lucky enough to get back to this beautiful city we would stay here again.

Amazing Place, Amazing Views

We absolutely totally enjoyed our stay here. If you want a really awesome place to stop with amazing views and fantastic hosts this is the place for you. As we walked into the place we were blown away by the space and the views from the full run length window, wow. Sean welcomed us and she showed us around and explained everything we needed to know. This place is really relaxing with 3 bedrooms all with very comfortable beds. It is a place that you can really chill out in and enjoy your holiday. Plenty of space for everyone and really well equipped with everything you could need.

Wayne & Sean as hosts were warm friendly and approachable and even when we were leaving for the next leg of our holiday to Vancouver Island they lent us their chiller box so we could transport our fridge stuff. That was so thoughtful.

If we do come back to Vancouver from the UK we will definitely try to book with Wayne & Sean first.
