About Chris Volker

This rather large King crab came to dinner with a couple of his friends when we where visiting our son and his family in Korea. Most of the time we are in Bellingham maintaining the property you see in the pictures. My wife and I live in the downstairs flat.

Chris Volker purchased this house in 2000

Why Chris Volker chose Bellingham

We have owned this classic home for 17 years and have made the upper flat available as a VRBO property. It took a while to put everything in order but the work has been worth it. The photos tell it all. The flats are completely separate from each other.

Comfortable Retreat

  • 5 of 5

My 14 year old daughter and I had a mother-daughter weekend and were so very comfortable. We didn't have enough time to visit Bellingham because we were so cozy and settled in this lovely house with a view. Everything was as expected or nicer and we couldn't have been happier!! We would definitely go back!

Cozy place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at this house. The owners live below, but it was completely private. The house was very comfortable and had wonderful views. There are a lot of steps to the house, so don't pack heavy suitcases. Sitting in the living room with a cup of coffee watching the bay was a highlight. Already planning our return.

Loved the arts and crafts house. Well equipped and laid out. Fabulous beds in the two larger bedrooms. Charming backyard and back deck. House faces Bellingham Bay and afforded fabulous sunsets. Great access to Fairhaven, walking path and down town Bell.

Never disappoints

  • 5 of 5

This is my second time staying at The Flat, and I was excited to return.

Again, everything was as described. The Flat is appointed to tastefully, it is truly a pleasure to be there.

I would highly recommend this vacation home for families or couples who want a quiet, comfortable place to stay with wonderful views and great hosts.
