YOSEMITE'S WATERFALLS ARE ALREADY AMAZING THIS YEAR! and..we've had more water in Bass Lake this year than in the past ten years.
Winter is a wonderful time to visit Yosemite; the crowds have gone and the scenery is still incredible.
YOSEMITE PARK AND BASS LAKE ARE STILL AN AMAZING AND AFFORDABLE VACATION COMBINATION! OUR WHOLE CABIN COSTS LESS THAN ONE HOTEL ROOM AT YOSEMITE.
'We had such a wonderful time at your cabin. It was such a wonderful change from a boring hotel room' (Todd B.- recent guest)
This is a charming and comfortable cabin at Bass Lake that is somewhat secluded on a small hill overlooking the lake. There is one master bedroom and full bath with a California King bed and a TV. The second bedroom is small, with a bunk bed that is twin-sized on top and full-sized on the bottom. This bedroom has its own bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink. The living room has a queen-sized Ikea sofa bed (comfy!) and a large TV with DVD/VCR player. The modern kitchen has a nook that sits 4-6. There is an adjacent library/den area with a larger table that can be used for dining, game playing, puzzles, crafts, working at your laptop, etc.
There is a hot tub on the deck that overlooks the lake. The hot tub is especially wonderful at night when all is quiet and the stars are bright. There is a patio table (with umbrella) which is the perfect spot for eating all meals, game-playing, relaxing with a glass of wine, etc. You will definitely spend a lot of time on the deck overlooking the hillside and lake. To the side of the house is an enclosed yard area with a concrete patio and a basketball hoop. Children love to play in this side-yard area (although young children must always be supervised)
It is a 5-minute walk to the lake. The Falls beach area is less than a mile down the road. In the other direction, there are many public beaches within walking distance or just a short drive...just choose one that fits your fancy. If you have young children, the beaches closest to our cabin have lots of shallow areas that are perfect for children to play safely in. The water is a great temperature for swimming during the summer. The Pines Village is 2 miles down the road. There you'll find The Pines grocery store, a gas station, a few restaurants and shops to browse in. There are boat and other rentals available on both sides of the lake as well as a couple of amazing burger, sandwich and ice-cream places (Millers Landing and The Forks).
New: Tempur-Pedic mattress toppers in both bedrooms! Sleep like a dream!
New: high chair, Pak'N'Play and baby toys! Save yourself the hassle of packing this essential baby gear!
The town of Oakhurst is just 8 miles away and has a wide variety of restaurants, movie theaters, grocery stores, bowling, etc. There is also good golf, hiking and fishing nearby. And of course, Yosemite is just up the road! It's a 20 minute drive to the southern entrance to Yosemite (and the Mariposa Grove) and then another 40 minutes down into Yosemite Valley. Day trips into Yosemite are very easy to do....then come back to soak in the hot tub at night!
This cabin is a perfect retreat for couples who want a quiet get-away. Families love it too!

We are a couple in our early 60's from the San Francisco Bay Area. Bass Lake is a 3-hour drive from our home. We bought our cabin 11 years ago while taking an anniversary trip to a Bed and Breakfast in the area. We stopped by a realtor's office for a casual chat, found out that this little home had just become available for sale and hadn't yet been listed, went over to take a look, and made an offer to buy it! Thus, we returned from our anniversary weekend as first-time cabin owners.
We have traveled throughout France and stayed at many wonderful bed-and-breakfasts; we'd love for our French friends to enjoy our cabin while visiting America,
Wendy Smith purchased this cabin in 2002
We love the peace and beauty of the mountain area. Although we have a boat, we find that we prefer the area when it's less crowded and we can hike and relax. My husband is a photographer, a la Ansel Adams, so there are limitless possibilities for his passion.
The hot tub under the starry sky soothes many harried souls. The lake is beautiful from all directions, whether you're on it or biking or walking around it. Burgers and sandwiches at Millers Landing must not be missed. A romantic dinner at Duceys is worth every penny. Cuddling in the cabin living room by the fire with a good DVD and a good local wine or hot cocoa is enjoyable, no matter what the weather is doing outside.
“Stayed for a wonderful 3 nights in Wendy's cabin. Firstly great communication from host. Secondly the cabin was fabulous- homely, had all amenities and in a great location for accessing the Yosemite. The hot tub was a real bonus with a great view of nearby Bass Lake. Highly recommend hiring a boat on the lake for activities like waterskiing and wake boarding. Thanks Wendy, will shout about your place to anyone heading to Yosemite! ”
We were very happy and surprised with the vacation home, it was in the perfect spot.
Located across the street from Bass lake with a nice lake view, but is also a very quiet
Neighborhood. Nice deck in the back with a great BBQ to have a cookout and then you can relax in the jacuzzi also on the deck.
A great evening kick back spot.
The place is stocked with about anything you'll need. Full kitchen with all the neccesities, stocked spice cabinet, mire linens and towels than you could use. Tv, stereo, games, books snd the unlimited things to do in the are including the lake,
Yosemite!!! Wow! Beatiful
We are looking forward to a return trip!!
The hot tub needs maintenance. The house itself is adorable and cozy.
I felt so cozy and at home as soon as I walked in! The beds are comfortable, the place was clean and spacious enough to really enjoy the house with a few great friends. I loved the quiet, relaxing mornings and evenings in the hot tub under the stars!! The view was beautiful and the house is close to the lakefront activities and food. I'd highly recommend this rental! Very easy access from the road, but still set back and secluded:)
Such a great property! Easily accessible and close to all of the things you want to do at Bass Lake. It has beautiful views of the lake, an area to play basketball, great deck, and an even better hot tub to relax in. Kick back and enjoy your stay, we did!
What a fun and relaxing weekend away with a small group of friends. The cabin on top of a small hill, close to main roads. It is the perfect getaway-- with comfortable beds, cozy sitting areas and beautiful views. A day at this Bass Lake property looked like this- wake up after a peaceful night's sleep to make breakfast in the well-stocked kitchen. Breakfast was either eaten in the cozy breakfast nook, or outside on the patio. Then we were off to tour bass lake, which could mean many things--shooting practice, fishing, spending the day on the lake, hiking, touring the town. Evenings were spent out touring the town or making dinner back at the cabin, after a quick game of basketball, and then in the hot tub underneath the stars. It was so relaxing and so fun! Thank you for a perfect weekend getaway!
Rented this beautiful cabin over the Memorial Day weekend. It was awesome - kids had a blast playing basketball, water sports on Bass Lake and hiking in Yosemite. The cabin was clean, the beds were super-comfortable, and Wendy/Mark were so easy to work with. This will be the only place we stay on our next trip to Yosemite/Bass Lake.
