About Jan or Jim McDaniel, owners

This photo is of the owners, hiking in one of hundreds of slot canyons in Escalante-Grand Staircase National Monument, east of Bryce Canyon. We love this area and will never tire of exploring it. And there is no end to the wonders available to explore!

Why Jan or Jim McDaniel, owners chose Duck Creek Village

We have visited and enjoyed many of our nation's parks and wilderness areas. We think Southern Utah is one of the most beautiful areas in the country, with an array of what are some of the most beautiful and accessible national parks and monuments. We have been coming to the area for several years, drawn by the beauty and wide variety of outdoor activities. We finally decided we needed to own a little piece of this incredible place. With breathtaking natural wonders any way you drive, all within close proximity, you can't beat this location. If you love nature and experiencing the outdoors, as we do, you will be amazed at this part of southern Utah, and you will love our cozy and friendly cabin in Duck Creek.

What makes this cabin unique

There is something magical about this cabin. So many of our guests - and we ourselves - have said that the minute you walk into our cabin, you can feel it. Instant relaxation comes over you! And a feeling of warmth and coziness and welcome. Come experience it yourselves!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had SUCH a wonderful time here in your cabin. After a week here, we are really sad to leave. We enjoyed several day trips to the surrounding areas, and the cabin proved a cozy and comfortable spot to come back to. We loved the winter snow, and have already been talking about a return trip here in the summer to do more hiking. We cannot thank you enough for your friendliness nd hospitality! This last seven days were AMAZING!

Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four absolutely loved our stay. This peaceful cabin was clean, quiet, and had everything we needed to enjoy almost a week away. We found the cabin to be centrally located to the national and state parks we visited (Zion, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, Coral Pink Sand Dunes, Cedar Breaks, etc.). We also enjoyed visits from a few deer and hummingbirds while relaxing on the porch. Should we find ourselves in Southwest Utah in the future, we would definitely make this cabin our home away from home again.

Fantastic cozy cabin away from it all.

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is in a nice tucked away location in a beautiful part of Duck Creek Valley. It was very comfortable and well equipped to be the base station for all of the great outdoor activities available in the area. My wife and I, along with our 2 grandkids and dogs really enjoyed it. I highly recommend this place for a relaxing get away.

.Perfect Cabin Retreat!

  • 5 of 5

Cabin and location perfect for our visit to Bryce & Zion NP. Enjoyed our stay very much with starter items supplying your needs from day one including information for hiking, horseback riding, ATVs to make this one of the finest vacation rentals near Duck Creek Village complete in mountain setting. Jan was quick to respond to our many questions about hiking, etc.

Well stocked kitchen with ample items for cooking a meal, comfortable chairs in living room to enjoy TV, comfortable bed, and lovely shower.

If you want a superb cabin conveniently located to visit both parks this is fantastic!

Highly recommend a relaxing stay at this cabin near Duck Creek Village.

Super clean and pet friendly!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is a little off the beaten path but also central to all the national parks and monuments in the area. The cabin was super clean and has all the necessary amenities plus WiFi for a weekend trip. It was also great to have an enclosed patio deck to let our dog get fresh air and not worry about her running off.

Great little getaway from it all!

  • 5 of 5

This was a great little getaway for our family of four, it took a 22-hour drive from Texas to get here, but we loved every minute of it. Very cozy house with everything you could possibly need to make your stay enjoyable. Not only was it cozy, it was beautifully decorated. The McDaniel's were very helpful and gave us more than enough information to help us with the area and it was all much appreciated and very very useful. I would recommend this home to anyone that is looking for a relaxing and cozy home away from home. I couldn't have picked a better house and the McDaniel's were amazing! Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE on PRICE: The Homeaway/VRBO system is very awkward when it comes to how they show the price per night on the front page of our listing. Be aware! It can be inaccurate! The initial price should be shown as the "avg/night" - average price per night. Once you put in dates, it shows you your rate as price "per night". If you are booking a week or more, it will show your price per night, with the weekly "free night:" discount ALREADY BUILT IN. That is NOT the listed nightly rate, but the AVERAGE nightly cost with the discount already included. Please refer to the rates tab for details on the rates - it varies based on season, holidays, etc., also how many nights you are booking. Thanks for your patience with this system issue that HomeAway/VRBO has.
