History : Built in 1927 during the height of the reconstruction of Colonial Williamsburg the Williamsburg Manor was originally designed to house professors from the College of William & Mary. It sits prominently on Richmond Road. Just a mere stone's throw from the College and only steps from the historic area shi is central to all there is to do in the area. With ample onsite parking, one can choose to stroll leisurely and safely through the downtown areas.
For a time our old girl served as a lodge for travelers, a private home that welcomed students, and at one point even housed soldiers and their families. She was purchased by us in 1992 and began our lives chapter together. We believe she is enjoying this chapter of her life the best. She has seen numerous weddings, honeymoons, family reunions and hosted thousands of couples just getting away or visiting the area.
Restored: We can't in good conscience say we have restored her, as she looks a lot different than she did in 1927, but we have brought her into a more recent age and made her as comfortable, inviting, and hospitable as possible. She is still a work in progress. Green grass and lush gardens soften the edges of our city scape and afford our guests the option of being in the thick of things or withdraw to the peace and solitude she can offer.
The Manor features updated comforts of home. All of the guest rooms feature 32' flat panel televisions, Ipod docking stations, Wi Fi, and great bedding. The Living Room features a gas fireplace, adjoining 'office' with an internet ready computer & printer, and plenty of comfortable sitting spaces.
Bed & Breakfast: Although the Manor spends a lot of her days as a traditional bed & breakfast, her first love is families and related groups. The house takes on a different personality and is truly a home away from home. Slide the couch back, order pizza in, and stay up all night playing games or just talking. The Manor fills the soul. The house and her packages can be customized to fit each guest's individual needs. We are also pet friendly to well maintained animals. Whether you stay as a B&B guest or a whole house booking our guests enjoy all the comforts of the B&B, Great Breakfast, Daily Housekeeping and Concierge Services
As we also own our area's largest catering company, food is a large part of our being. A bountiful breakfast is served each morning. best described as 'Regional Southern', we gather ingredients and snips from our kitchen garden to create a proper fare that should hold one well through lunch. Snacks and bevies are also available throughout the day for grazing.
