Overview

Photos and Description of this Albany holiday house

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths (Sleeps 6)

If you’re interested in exploring the “green” side of the Green Mountain State, this solar-powered geodesic dome is a completely different Vermont experience. Of course, you’ll still have privacy and the quiet serenity of nature surrounding you. Four downhill ski areas will still be within a forty-minute drive, and the Craftsbury Nordic Center will be ten minutes away with its miles of cross-country skiing.

In the summer, you’ll be a short distance from lakes, rivers, the Canadian border, seven golf courses, the Long Trail for hiking, road biking, mountain biking, fishing, boating, and any outdoor sport you can imagine. Stowe, St. Johnsbury, and Newport, Vermont are all just a short drive away.

Suitability:
  • Events Allowed

Immaculate and Peaceful

This place is so clean and new looking inside it was like we were it's first renters!

Just off I-91 suddenly you feel completely away from it all but anything you need is nearby.

So much stuff to do and places to visit , but when you are at the dome you feel completely AWAY.

Modern kitchen and huge outdoor grill, everything you need to cook what you bring back from the store.

Owner responds quickly to emails and questions. Comfortable beds, toasty radiant heat, hot showers, modern washer/dryer.

The dome is huge with plenty of places to settle down alone with a book but we spent most our time on the deck with it's ever changing mountain views, Milky Way and countless stars.

Watching the constellations slide by, snow falling and sun rises from the master bed was Amazing!

My four-legged friend was overjoyed with all the space too...

I have never rented before and this place was perfection.

I loved Geocaching and driving long beautiful dirt roads around the area- SO beautiful!

In one word..... amazing.

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had an amazing time at the solar dome and we can't wait to come back. The dome and the surrounding property is beautiful. The views are just spectacular. We can not speak highly enough about Bill and his solar dome. We will be planning another trip here soon.

Beautiful retreat!

The Solar Dome was the perfect spot to relax for a weekend. We never left the property! Beautiful spot! We especially loved the giant chess set and being able to do yoga on the deck on a sunny morning. Thank you for being such great hosts!

I can't say enough about this dome home! It's truly wonderful, and Bill is a terrific host. There's plenty of room (there were 5 of us), beautiful views, everything works wonderfully. A+!

Vermont Paradise

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at the Solar Dome, and it never loses its charm and serene perfection. Gorgeous views, fabulous, open and airy, beautifully decorated home that somehow manages to be comfortable and family-friendly. Great location - easy to get into Stowe and Smugglers Notch area or Canada. Outdoors is paradise - blueberries and raspberries, fire pit, and (new) giant chess board which occupied out kids for hours. Bill (the owner) is a terrific host. We'll definitely be back.
