What makes this Chateau / Country House unique
This is a unique property; it is a romantic old place with attractive gardens, close to village amenities and the French countryside. It can easily accommodate large or small parties. We love walking in the village to the bakery and epicérie, dining in the restaurants, having coffee, wine and lunches in nearby villages and cities. We enjoy Loire wines, probably the most diverse wine region in France. We have not yet visited all of the many villages and chateaux. The restaurants in the area are excellent, whether Michelin stars, or village bistros. We live here six months a year, so it is much loved and cared for; when you rent you have the property to yourselves.

This was the second time I have stayed at Bob and Beth's chateau in the tiny village of La Puy Notre Dame. It is a beautiful home, spacious, well-decorated, with thoughtful attention to details. On this visit I took my family which included two children ages 9 and 13. They thoroughly enjoyed their time there and made use of all the games, books and puzzles that were provided. We drove to the troglodyte village, ate foe in one of the restaurants, visited some chateaux, went to the zoo, and generally enjoyed all the region had to offer. I recommend this rental without reservation
An authentic experience
We just spent a week at Le Puy-Notre-Dame for the second time in 6 years and enjoyed the House even more this time around. It is a great base to explore Anjou and nearby Touraine and it is very confortable. Evenings on the patio, with the bells ringing in the village are a favorite of mine. Would go back in a heart beat
Beautiful chateau in a charming village
Had the most amazing stay at this wonderful property! It has four large bedrooms each decorated beautifully. The downstairs is spacious with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge and an elegant dining room. Throughout the house are fascinating artworks and antiques, so you keep noticing something new! It has beautiful gardens with lots of different spaces to sit or dine whether you want sunshine or shade. The house is in a charming village with a huge church and lots of history and we were lucky enough to stay the weekend of the vintage car grand prix which was fabulous. The village is not far from Montreuil Bellay or Saumur and many other pretty towns with chateaus and tourist attractions, so we had plenty to do! I would certainly recommend it!!!
Special home, spaciuos 4BR, with lovely private garden
Cute town, well-located especially for food & wine enthusiasts and castle visits. Very, very thoughtful owners...has anticipated your info needs and what might go wrong (to preempt that). Thank you
We had a fabulous stay! A month in Le Puy de Notre Dame is not enough.
We loved the chateau and the garden. The house was well stocked and had everything we needed. It is a perfect location to see the best of the Loire. We highly recommend this property and will definitely return.
A wonderful getaway in the heart of wine country
Opening the large wooden gates from the street, one is greeted by the most striking courtyard garden. Climbing roses, hydrangeas, herbs and heavenly scents greeted our arrival. The house itself is a treasure, replete with original detail and period antiques. Everything is very comfortable and user-friendly, from the kitchen to the bedrooms. You will want for nothing during your stay. The village is quite charming, and away from the tourist crowds. On the other hand, it is also quite accessible to the best that the Loire Valley has to offer. Fresh food and farmers markets are just a short drive, and wonderful wines are around every corner just waiting to be discovered. Beth and Bob are wonderful hosts and make sure that you have all the information needed to make the most of your stay. Highly recommended.
wine tours; great chateaux and medieval cities
