About Marie-Christine Miller

Born and raised on an island in the Basque Country in the south of France, with summers at La Noue, I have spent my adult life in the US. I have worked as a Travel Counselor, an Operations Manager for an Incentive house, and today still love planning trips (as an Independant Contractor with a Travel Agency) while managing and spending (again) my summer months at La Noue, renewing my ties with my family Home and sharing my experience with guests, family and friends.

Marie-Christine Miller purchased this castle in 1998

Why Marie-Christine Miller chose Villedômer

It was 17 years ago that I chose to take over the ancestral family property and renovate it, with in mind to share with guests from all over the world my incredible memories of 'Hide-and-Seek' games throughout the hallways and unending closets of La Noue, walks in the woods with our grandmother hoping to catch a glimpse of a deer or a fox, pick blackberries in the Summer and walnuts fallen from the trees in the Fall. Of course we knew the major Chateaux as well, choosing which to visit and 'hide' in!

What makes this castle unique

La Noue quickly takes over your senses and becomes a paradise for the visiting guests, adults and children alike. The 'Grande Dame' as I lovingly refer to her, graciously offers its serene and calm setting amidst a 120 acres park. Thanks to its proximity to the major sights of the Loire Valley - world reknowned for its magnificent Royal Chateaux and Gardens, historical sites and gastronomic restaurants and wineries, La Noue is a perfect 'Home' while visiting the Valley of the Kings. The apartment is very large (2000sq.ft) and easily can accommodate 6 guests in the existing bedding. Additional rooms can be opened for larger groups. It has been carefully decorated to give the guests this unique 'Home' atmosphere and be a great retreat at the end of days of sightseeing throughout the region.

Historic, large and great Loire Valley location.

  • 4 of 5

Marie Christine is a great hostess and the apartment is quite large, certainly plenty of room for a family.

We wanted to tour around the Loire Valley and Chateau De La Noue is in an excellent location to do that, just 20 minutes north of Amboise.

Amazing stay at Chateau De La Noue

  • 5 of 5

The owner Christine was waiting for us and gave us a lovely tour of the property on our arrival.

The rooms were very spacious and beautiful. We saw quite a few wild animals and woke up one morning to see 2 beautiful deer outside our bedroom window!

We had such a relaxing stay. It was nice to wake up to the sounds of nature and the property itself is gorgeous. It is also well situated to the the towns of the Loire valley.

We would absolutely return.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your lovely comments... La Noue does pride itself in staying very close to the surrounding nature, its animals, trees and flowers such as the wild cyclamens which cover the grounds around the Chateau at the end of the Summer and that you could experience. I shall look forward to welcoming you again ...

Gastvrijheid, rust en een prachtig appartement.

  • 5 of 5

Grand Chateau with lots of space, beautiful grounds, central Loire Valley locale, and warm ownership

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a wonderful stay at Chateau de la Noue. The house was grand and we had plenty of space for everyone. The grounds were beautiful and the owner, Christine, was so nice and accommodating. She even mended my daughter's favorite shirt for us when it snagged on one of our many Loire Valley castle tours. The location is central to all of the Loire sights but still remote enough to get the full French countryside experience. I'd definitely stay here again.

Our stay at Chateau de la Noue was perfect! We are a family of 6 (4 children) and cannot speak highly enough about the property, it's rich history, and personal stories shared by Christine. She was a gracious host and wanted to make sure that first and foremost, our family had a wonderfully memorable experience. Not only will we be back, we are already planning a return trip with many more family members. If you are lucky enough to have Christine share the castle's amazing history, it will only make you feel like royalty after having stayed at La Noue. This was a true 5 star experience for our family!

Highly recommend

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in this chateau was the quintessential Loire experience - staying in a castle of the region constructed in the 16th-17th centuries surrounded by nature but close to many of the major sites. We stayed in our own wing in the castle for 5 nights. We're a family of 5 and the space fit us perfectly (3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, one half bathroom). The wing was very nicely appointed in a traditional style but with all the modern conveniences. Christine was an excellent hostess, very attentive to our needs and knowledgeable of the region. We'd highly recommend staying at Chateau de la Noue, one of our best visits ever.
